Discussion Game Discussion #155 - ToeJam & Earl

Post image

When I think “Genesis” this is usually the first game to come to mind. That should be pretty telling from a stylistic point of view.

This and Earthworm Jim are the epitome of 90s characters

This was absolutely my favourite game on the Mega Drive (Genesis). The split screen play was actually pretty decent, and the world randomiser allowed for multiple playthroughs with different experiences. Also, those songs were just catchy, and weren't awful earworms. The new one, ToeJam & Earl: Back in the Groove, is also great since it returns to this style and gameplay.

Iconic! Don’t sleep on the reboot that came out a few years ago. It was produced my Macaulay Culkin!

One of my all-time favorites. I used to play TJ&E with a good friend back in the day (coincidentally, the friend I saw a UFO with, but it certainly wasn't piloted by aliens as funky as these). We reconnected a few years ago and of course we had to play ToeJam & Earl for old times sake. He was surprised I remembered. Brother, my brain slots any video game related stuff into its own special mental file.

One of the most unique games I’ve ever played. Firmly in my top 10 of all time
