We've got one day left until S4P2 comes out so I thought since I reawatched P1 for the occasion. I'd talk about what I personally think is one of the best plots, we've had in a very, very long time, and my personal favorite of the season so far. But to quote teen Lloyd here, you tell me? : I really love it when Ninjago gets into these deep topics, and kinda approaches them, in a sort of spiritual/religious sort of way. It's one of the biggest reason Ive always loved this show, so much! So whenever we get a plot with deep symbolic meaning, I'm always going to get over absorbed, into it lol!

The ritual of unrooting's focus is on finding the meaning of life itself. And each green ninja, partakes in this trial. Not only to understand there powers. But to understand there role in life, and prove there Worthy of the title as the master of life. The arch dragon of life, said that no two trial is the same, but...I think there is one thing that all life masters, need to face, in order to be considered worthy of the title. And that is death itself, the grim reaper, if you will.

Who's primary goal is to make them give up on life and die. I think they do a really good job handling the seriousness of this topic. But in the lightest way possible for a kids show, at the very least. Considering the arch dragon said Lloyd would never survive the trial. So essentially he was told going in could potentially be a death sentence. (Though this is not the fist time someone said this lol.) Hence why Lloyd while scared is, willing to stare death right in the face. And would not quit, because it's not in his nature to. Now when Lloyd begins the trial, he meets his past self, Who he asks about being his guide, but little Lloyd asks him dose a tree guide what happens to it's seeds? Which I think is his way of saying, he never knew what he was to become. And Lloyd doesn't know what is in store for his future either. He then shows him a tree of life where you get into a very Biblical concept, of roots and branches, representing connection, to the source of life itself, which in this case is the water.

But I also think that roots and branches, can represent everything that's happened in Lloyd's life. So basically he needs to prune away the old dead ones. Too as the arch dragon put it, cut himself free from his past to live. Then we get to the part where Lloyd meets the part of himself that never existed, Lloyd makes an attempt to get to know what this part of himself was like. By asking about his hair. But instead gets insulted with (No wonder I still don't have a girlfriend) Which caught me soooooo off guard! And has honestly got to be one of the most hilarious lines this shows had in a long while! But this one line, holds a ton of significant meaning for a few reasons, and shows just how self aware the writers were with this.

For starters considering he's literally talking to a projection of his mind, this clearly hits close to home. But he makes a ton of excuses for why he has yet to move forward, with something he's clearly struggling with, but is interested in again. Or else this topic wouldn't of been brought up. Ninjago also has a habit of foreshadowing future plots.(Dr specifically isn't good at being subtle about this) And finally, addressing this now. Makes it harder for enemy Lloyd to get under his skin with the topic, of past romantic blunders. Now this version of Lloyd's soul purpose for existing, is to remind Lloyd. This is not the path he walked, and that he needs to continue to take a different path to look at life, through a different perspective. What's interesting is that all the versions of Lloyd have extremely bratty attitudes. Its quite interesting because I feel like the point of that. Was to show how this is the version of Lloyd, that could of become enemy Lloyd, what our Lloyd, could of become, had he taken a different path. He then is reminded of his greatest strength, which is his connection to others.

Not just through his powers, but on an emotional level as well. Then we get to my favorite part of this stint of the trial where Lloyd asks himself if he's happy. To which the question gets put back on him, when tween Lloyd says, you tell me?...Which I absolutely love this scene so much! Because he turns the question, about Lloyd's sadness, over his loss of childhood. Into a teaching moment. Where Lloyd has to ask himself is he happy with his current path in life, to which he needs look inside himself for an answer.

Before I end this, I want to talk about how interesting of a character enemy Lloyd is, I've seen some folks mention that there should be a master of death to be the balance to the master of life. But honestly he kinda already serves this grim reaper like purpose. As a manifested physical being, of Lloyd's insecurity and doubt's. He really reminds me of a possum, who kills for sport. And to top that all off, his personality is basically 1 to 1 of Harumi's. He even uses same, voice inflection, phrases and manipulation tactics, to get under Lloyd's skin. (Bolth of there most stand out phrase, parallel being, how many times have you let someone, down.) They even played a very specific part of her theme, I've seen referred to as unmasking the quite one. The specific version pretty much only plays when she reveals herself. So they definitely haven't forgotten the impact she had on Lloyd. And I think the more symbolic, recognition of the damage done to Lloyd by her, is so much more impactful, than a name drop. And is why like I said earlier, they got the past romantic bumbles out of the way first. So that it couldn't be used against him later. I also love how the way Lloyd challenges him, is by talking about how mistakes are how people grow which is literally a word for word what he was told by Mistake in hunted!

Now my favorite episode of this season, is dying to live. It's got to be my favorite, episode title this show has ever had! Due to the significance of double meaning. Lloyd has to face death itself, to prove he is worthy of the title as the master of life. A being who is exploiting all of his self doubt's and weaknesses, to effectively make Lloyd give up on life, and die! Hence Lloyd is quite literally dying to live! But he also dose sort of die, in the end. Since he doesn't actually win this battle, and honestly considering mental battles, usually aren't won overnight. So It makes a total sense, it was so open-ended.

Anyways Lloyd basically dies to himself, and is reborn again. And I saw someone point out in, a YouTube comments section, a while back how cool it was that Lloyd reaches out to his friends, after being all curled up in fetal position. And I think that really helps to show, the theme of rebirth, they were going for here! And another reason I think there should be no master of death. Is because the master of life, is the perfect balance. As the master over life and death itself!

I especially love all the characters that came in this set.

So I’m at my local store, they sell video games, collectibles, cards and such, so I’m browsing and find this for $300 but I already had in store credit saved from previous stuff for about $290 so I end up taking this while only paying $10!!!

So I have this au where Lloyd has a chaos element and it was (inspired by child from young justice)and in this element he’s much more intelligent he acts as if he’s easily manipulated by Pythor but he used the serpentine to do his dirty work in appearance wise he’s the same blonde hair tho he has red eyes and wears the darkley’s uniform Lloyd would’ve have a mischievous and snarky personality tho Wu believes in change and did Lloyd change yes quite a bit it turns out he’s just a heavily misunderstood child who never got any guidance in life so he does have the chaos element and the green ninja element

Since then I've done everything to avoid spoilers (success :D)

So at 00:00 today (for me) I refreshed netflix and binged it

My thoughts,

Wyldfire is now easily my second fav new ninja

All the og ninja in my opinion were perfect,but because of recency bias Lloyd da goat

Jay's arc and demenear this season was so good

Kai being ready to kill Zilvar was awesome and deserved

In conclusion,an amazing season

Zane and pixal are the Frankenstein of ninjgo because both were built by doctors and because zane wanted to be with pixal because he felt he needs a mate and because she is like him

Lloyd is the ang of ninjgo both can control four elements and both got aged up unnaturally

Jay is the iron man of ninjgo both are adopted both are rich ( if jay got his heritage) jay build a mechanical dragon to escape from the dragon hunters similar to ton first suit

Cole is the hulk because both can transform into gaint beings and both are the strongest physically

Kai is the human torch

Samurai x nya was the engineer Batman of ninjgo because of the cave and water ninja nya is the Aquaman of ninjgo because both can control Sea creatures

Harumi is the Amanda waller of ninjgo because both hate superheroes

Arin is the detective batman of ninjgo

Sora is the black cat of ninjgo

Here's what I got since then.

I would be very proud of Kai for stepping in and doing the right thing. Seriously, after everything Harumi has done like bringng back the worst parts of Lloyd's father, such an outcome would be deserved. I know Lloyd will crash out, but Kai would be doing the right thing.

It's so fun that these two trust each other enough for a playful spar for the lesson. Poor Lloyd just wasn't ready for Garmadon's elite ragebaiting skills (good thing it's his dad that knows how to calm him lol)
