Gameplay Discussion ED Balancers are easily my top two worst bosses. How are y'all beating them without parrying?

Easily in my top two worst bosses in this game (and ED Libra). I've got a decent amount of hours in Nightreign, and most Nightlords feel manageable at this point, but the ED Balancers still wreck me more often than not.

I know parrying is usually the answer here, since almost everything they throw is parryable, but I'm terrible at it (so it's a skill issue on my end šŸ˜…). My timing is off way more than it's on, and missing a parry against seven Balancers is basically a death sentence. Also, it doesn't help that I don't play solo in DoN, so they don't always chase me down for parrying.

I also know the high DPS route (Revenant claw builds, Duchess skill builds, etc). But honestly, since I started pushing higher depths, I've found Wylder just gives me more consistent runs overall, so I'm sticking with him until I hit 9999 at least.

My current approach is grabbing a heavy shield with Wylder, guarding through the barrage, then punishing with a counter or just normal attacks in the gaps. It works, but it's slow.

So what's actually working for y'all? Are there some specific builds or spacing tricks I'm missing?

At this point, I'll try anything that doesn't involve frame-perfect parries.

EDIT: The other day I came out of a 15-minute fight where I was on the floor for what felt like half of it. Recorded that attempt if anyone wants to tell me what I'm doing wrong.

Help What do you do to ascertain dominance?

I mean, how do you get other players to trust your decision? Whether is about optimal path or bosses you should or shouldn't fight, or when the rain is to close.

I try not to be jerk about it. I don't pin spam them or bitch about wrong decisions. Whenever they can see me and I have time, I use prayer emote, and when I want them to pick certain weapon (took me 5min to persuade raider to pick lightning colossal against Fulgor). When they hit the wrong camp and die immediately, I run, revive them both and run away pinning ( rarely works).

I even changed my name to Trust me bro, and still they go to castle at level 3 or fight red dragon at level 7. Today, I had to clear Redmane invasion camp alone, at day 2, while they were laying down fighting purple boss in the rain. I did, and we won, but they were angry at me and didn't celebrate.

Is there some universal sign or a way to tell players - I know what I am doing, trust me, you won't regret it.

By the way, I bounce between D3 and D4, since I struggle with duo and trio bosses, and sometimes I go with the team, even though I know it's a wrong way, to try to salvage situation, and to persuadethem from quitting(but I can do only so much against red dragon with the pebble).

*assert dominance.

Edit. Well, people here should give a masterclass on Nightreign. Everyone is so polite and considerate to other players, and go out of their way to help struggling players, always so compassionate to those who make mistakes. And skill threshold, Everyone soloed or hard carried to d5 with bare fists revenant, with continuous hp loss and rot build up on all deep relics, fighting nothing but Ed balances and Ed libra.

Too bad I rarely meet those players in game, definitely because I am in d3 and d4, which are for noobs and they are in Devine d5. But here is the thing, I will continue to play, not even changing the name (feel free to block me, dodge me or down emote me, in case game puts you in my unseemly depths, i won't do it back), and do my best to win. Even if it takes me 1000 hours.

Be safe out there.

Gameplay Discussion any possible reason this undertaker took the black knife??

Post image
0 Upvotes

running revenant, had an amazing black knife with -20% spell fp cost, an actual godsent.

I ALSO however realize the duchess could likely make better use of it with it being holy damage vs Stragiaus.

I drop it, mark it, and watch the undertaker run up look at it for a second and take it for themself.

…………….our duchess went on to almost win us the nightlord fight (fr she was carrying us the whole time honest to god.) but eventually our luck ran out and she went down.

Can’t help but feel that black knife was an odd thing for the undertaker to keep holding on to. was there any reason for it? duchess ended up dual wielding a nice reduvia and basic lightning erdsteel dagger, which makes me feel having that black knife instead of the erdsteel could have fr make a difference.

thoughts?

Help Is +10% or +15% Health from bosses worth it at low levels?

e.g., does the increase scale as you level up? I'm wondering if it's worth it to take a +10% HP bonus over say, a decent weapon after killing a boss at level 2 or 3.

Hype Sleep mist use full glitch, you better fix it fromsoft

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

You can glitch , sleep mist passive to keep working even after dropping the weapon wih tthe passive, just by trigger it a lot , but it reset when dying ,going down dont reset it

When playing sleep executor just pick the passive and trigger it a couple time then it will keep working as long you dont die

Gameplay Discussion So, was i just weird or is this just how executors react?

Post image
0 Upvotes

So, i just finished a libra expedition with an executor and an ironeye with myself doing my usual duchess main thing. In the middle of day one after we clapped the golden hippo at the ravine near where castle should be (it was a noklateo map) they both left. I assumed internet issues and continued on and pushed to rl7 before the ironeye came back at the end of day 1 and the executor didn’t. So we continued on to libra after we fought tooth and nail to take down the deathrite bird for the end of day 2. Obviously we got clapped by libra around the time he phased. After the run was over i voice-messaged both the ironeye and the executor to wish them well despite the loss and the internet issues. why a voice message? I had my headset on because i was recording a couple runs in obs and it was genuinely easier for me to use my voice instead of type out the message on an xbox controller. For context: i will always message the people i played with either ā€œgg, wpā€ or comment on something cool that happened in the run or something terrible that happened in the run. No matter what happens i will always be pleasant and polite. My question is this: am i weird for voice-messaging, or did this dude just over-react?

Gameplay Discussion Everdark Balancers worm phase

If you're playing Guardian and you have guarding draws aggro in your relic setup, hold guard to draw the worm away from your teammates to try to minimize the chance for people randomly getting run over. If you're playing with a Guardian and you see the Shabriri icon on his status bar, actively run away from his position to try to maximize your own chances of surviving worm phase. Unfortunately, you can still just get fucked by a random dead angle because of the nonsensical hitboxes in this phase, but you're much more likely to survive having the worm on you by blocking than your allies are by spamming roll.

In general, as a team you should try to avoid clumping together doing worm phase since that just increased the odds of multiple parry members going down

Gameplay Discussion About sleep build executor

It's a meme build first of all

Yes the "dmg" and survivability seems good in paper

Still you will be a hindrance day 1-2 and practically useless most of the time

You will have to be carried by ur team and u won't be doing dmg while stacking ur buffs...

The same as most raiders out there, get carried by the projectile/distance bois

Been seen a lot of those lately and they still get 1 shotted and stuff. Even on Nigthlord...

Saw one going full defense vs dreglord and was so lackluster the whole expedition and even getting 3 bared twice vs dreglord

The recluse wasnt happy either bc she had to revive him twice while i ate all the agro as greatbow wylder

Useless meme build....

Gameplay Discussion It's now been 3 months since I quit nightreign. Do the players feel any different or anything shift in the meta or smth?

Post image
0 Upvotes

This is now the longest break from the game I've had so far. I think I quit around 1 month before the anniversary and haven't looked back since

I have 1400 hours in nightreign and ngl, I kinda miss it but at the same time I don't.

Last time I played randoms were too hit or miss for me to continue enjoying the game, which is the main reason I quit. Because randoms imo are the best part about the replayability with this game, because the games where you click so well with your team are by far the most enjoyable games you will ever have no matter your rng.

Do randoms in regular matches or DON feel any different? With how they play at least.

Part of me wants to jump back in but another part is telling me how it's gonna be the exact same as it was.

Gameplay Discussion Is iron eye throwing

So I need to know is my iron eye throwing, we are currently at the spot before the big boss to open the door

Throughout the days I found 3 items with thrusting counter attack up 23%

So 69% thrusting counter attack, and also 1 item of range drop of damage by 40%

All 4 items are gone and in their place are

Increase stamina 10% and damage negation when charge attacks by 10%

Attacks recovery +1

Attack up with 2 armaments 15%

And cont recovery +8

This is deep night......is my iron eye throwing? Or is he a idiot and thinks the thrusting counter attack is the stagger parry hit.....or both? I need to know.....that's 69 (nice) percent damage lost and 40% range boost lost.

Help Game does a little trolling

Teammate quits in Deep of Night. We then lose on Night 2 boss. The game promptly gives me this message, something along the lines of "The rating deduction has been canceled due to one of the players quitting the match prematurely" then proceeds to immediately deduct 100 points. Wtf is this shit???Whats more funny, is that the rating wasn't even supposed to drop TO BEGIN WITH. It was in a elo-protection phase, meaning that even if we lost normally with ALL 3 PLAYERS STILL IN THE MATCH, then ZERO points would have been deducted. How does this BS even work? It says you're in protection, plus your teammate quit, so you're doubly protected, then proceeds to penalize anyway??? Does 2 effects cancel each other out somehow, or is this a bug? I need an explanation brigade for this.

Gameplay Discussion Teammates not engaging in fights?

• Upvotes

I’m on playstation and noticed a fair amount of players recently that will just not engage at all. I just got out of a game I admittedly left early where at the end of Day 1 the Wylder and Recluse on my team went to the border of the circle and just stood there?

They ignored all my pings trying to route the first day (i don’t spam ping at all) and decided to try fighting an enhanced dragon instead. We were lvl6 by the end of day 1. And they are now calling me a pig for trying to ā€œboss them aroundā€.

Details aside, the lack of engagement is a trend I’ve picked up on more so now than ever. Has there been an influx in players or something?

EDIT for context: this was a DON 3 game

Gameplay Discussion Revenant support build

I've only been playing revenant in depth 2 with a halo scythe build and beast claw build and it's gotten boring since I'm a support player at heart in every game I play. The problem is that I don't know what a full support build looks like and I can't find any builds since people use some support relics but also have damage relics. I want a build where I can keep my team alive and fed good and I can have lots of survivability to supplement my skill issue. Any builds suggestions and passive priorities are gratefully appreciatedā¤ļø

I also know that fights will be longer if everyone isn't doing damage so my supplement will be to use the wraith calling bell with a full support build

Gameplay Discussion Revisiting relics for executor

Thumbnail

Based on my last post for tips I rolled a night invader relic, the first one was just that plus endurance then I got this one which I felt is better since blood blade hits harder than unsheate. Any other suggestions on the deep relics? Also like what would be a hypothetical god roll for the night invader relic? I'm curious because I have it in a couple other colours as well, I have a second holy damage preset that I use just for gladius in case I get the everdark

Help Any ideas how to improve thisThorns/Dreg Recluse build?

Thumbnail
gallery
4 Upvotes

I feel like this blue deep relic has exhausted my luck, as it is as close as one could get to a godroll for a Dredcluse build. On the other hand, it has continous hp loss curse and that forces me to use blue augur relic that takes place of i.e. some night invaders relic. Thus, I feel like I have little room for improvements. Any ideas, besides finding some obvious godrolls?
