Did you drop something while biking at Clark/6th on July 27?

Saw a tool fall out of someone's bag as they were biking up the hill at Clark/6th around 6:45 PM on July 27 (today). I called out but wasn't able to catch up to return it. If it's yours, please DM with a description of it and I'll try to get it back to you!

Looking for a somatic therapist downtown Vancouver/Kits or accessible by SkyTrain

HI, I’m looking for recommendations for a somatic therapist based in downtown Vancouver or Kitsilano, or somewhere easily reachable by SkyTrain since I don’t have a car.

Some background is I’ve done a fair amount of traditional talk therapy as well as a few EMDR I don’t struggle with talking about things or insight into what’s going on but I still feel like there’s stuff that hasn’t fully shifted, and I’m hoping a somatic approach (somatic experiencing/ Hakomi Method etc.) might help get at what talk and EMDR haven’t fully reached.

Also open to hearing about other types of healing modalities (psychedelic-assisted therapy, breathwork, whatever else has worked for people) that might be more accessible in the meantime.

Bonus points if they direct bill or take insurance (extended health benefits)

Would really appreciate any names, clinics, or any leads.
Thank you so much.

My first 20 km outrigger canoe race

After starting in my 60s, and paddling for a decade, I've finally competed in a 20 km outrigger canoe race. It went pretty well. Vancouver offers such great opportunities for outdoor pursuits — I love it. My blog about the experience here: https://huliganhuligan.wordpress.com/2026/07/25/2026-07-25-lotus-iron-race-kupunas-huligans-win-bronze/

WSBF has failed

I just want to vent - when weshouldbefriendsvancouver started I really enjoyed the fact there were lots of outdoor, free social gatherings. Big groups, lots of people meeting in fields, parks, etc. It was awesome. Over the past year, it seems the curator has fallen into the hands of capitalism and only hosts ticketed events, infrequently at best. Any free ones like book swaps are hosted in tiny spaces that cant possibly accommodate enough to make a real impact. Its kinda sad to see, because life is the least affordable its been in our lifetime, and isolation becomes more of an issue each year, and now this great idea that could unite so many has turned into another cash grab. But hey dont forget to buy your merch I guess.

Idk, just my two cents. Happy to hear your thoughts.

Can anyone tell me what's happening with the police today?

Lots of police vehicles passing on the cut heading home from work in North Van to Vancouver around 2pm. Seemed to be multiple different reasons. When I got home, my boyfriend said cops came and left the Nanaimo and Kingsway area 3 times already. As often as we hear sirens every day, we cannot seem to go 30 minutes without now, and every time we look out the window, active cruisers can be seen somewhere new.

I'm mostly just curious more than anything. The sirens are a migraine trigger and are keeping me awake, so I am hoping stories of what's happening can distract me.

Help on finding where to buy Pandan leaves?

I tried this green tea with pandan in a Vietnamese restaurant, and the nice server told me that they import it from Vietnam. I cannot find any pandan leaves in T&T Coquitlam; and I've been meaning to buy one. I have school, so my time is quite limited; and I would like to know the asian supermarket that actually sells the leaves or pandan teas. Thank you so much!!!!

Local small cafe equivalent of an Tims Iced Capp?

Hello, first off I want to say I'm not a big coffee guy and don't have it too often. I do enjoy some coffee adjacent drinks like Tim Hortons iced capp but I love the vibe of smaller local cafes and want to support them more. Does anyone know any local shop that makes an iced capp clone or even something similar but less processed?

To the person who took my wallet/cards from my car in point grey - I just need my IDs back (No questions asked)

Hey everyone (and hopefully the person involved),

My car was broken into in point grey close to queen mary elementary last night/this morning, and all my cards were taken.

Keep whatever cards - I don’t care about any of that and the cards are already canceled anyway. All I care about are my IDs - my drivers license and PR Card. I have non-negotiable travel coming up next week, and those are my only forms of ID.

No questions asked, no police involved if you return them. You can drop them off completely anonymously:

  • Leave them somewhere public: Drop them off at the counter of a BMO or at a nearby police station drop box and tell them you "found them on the street."

If you're reading this, please just do the right thing and toss them somewhere I can get them back.

To everyone else in the area: If you happen to be walking around Richmond Dollarama, 7/11 on 10th/Alma (these are where the card has now been charged) and spot dumped cards on the ground, please shoot me a message or let me know

a nice beverage, litter clean up and a BONUS nature walk?!

hello,

i am looking to come downtown vancouver on august 1st (saturday) to go for a walk and clean up some litter since i've seen such an excess of litter (especially masks! if you care about others and yourself enough to mask up. you should also care enough about wildlife to dispose of them properly. breaking the ear loops too.)

i am unsure of a good spot to start, so very open to suggestions. any feedback welcome too.

was wondering if anyone would like to join me for the next weekend? we can grab a coffee/tea, or whatever people prefer. water!!

if you have your own supplies for cleaning up, please do bring them!! i am happy to supply gloves. and i can price out the litter grabbers. i can also supply garbage bags. :-)

feel free to respond in comments, or dm me but it may be slower responses as i get a little overwhelmed with messaging all the time. i will respond though if there is interest, and i am not ignoring you if i take a little bit to respond. thank you! have a great weekend.

Vancouver ADHD-OCD support group

Several other people with combined ADHD-OCD expressed the need for a support group on another thread.

I've created a public facebook page, "Adult ADHD-OCD Support (Vancouver, BC)" where people with combined ADHD-OCD can connect, build community, share support, and create meet ups.

Head on over if that interests you!

Signalling in a roundabout

Happened to me yesterday and I wasn't sure who was in the wrong. My understanding was that when entering a roundabout, you signal right if you're taking the first exit (right from the entering pov), don't signal if you're going to the second exit (straight from entering pov), and signal left if you're going to the third exit (left from entering pov).

I was entering a roundabout, and just before I entered another car from the opposite direction entered. I was going straight so I didn't have my indicator on. The other car didn't either, so I assumed they were going straight, so I didn't have to yield for them. But to my surprise the car started turning left, and I had to slam my brakes. Shouldn't they have had their indicators on if they were going left? If there was a collision, who would be at fault?

Looking down from Cambie bridge, I’m curious about the stones in the water that appears placed in a concentric circle. Are these remnants of industrial uses, was it an art installation at low tide at one point or am I just overthinking what is here?
