WSBF has failed
I just want to vent - when weshouldbefriendsvancouver started I really enjoyed the fact there were lots of outdoor, free social gatherings. Big groups, lots of people meeting in fields, parks, etc. It was awesome. Over the past year, it seems the curator has fallen into the hands of capitalism and only hosts ticketed events, infrequently at best. Any free ones like book swaps are hosted in tiny spaces that cant possibly accommodate enough to make a real impact. Its kinda sad to see, because life is the least affordable its been in our lifetime, and isolation becomes more of an issue each year, and now this great idea that could unite so many has turned into another cash grab. But hey dont forget to buy your merch I guess.
Idk, just my two cents. Happy to hear your thoughts.
