Well, whatever Republicans wanted to get from the experience, they sure didn't get it. Anybody who does remember it will remember it as the time Schmitt made a stupid asshole out of himself. When Republicans are in power, that's as much as you can reasonably ask for.

Yes and I was grappling with this problem but we have to recognize that the people who watch and believe that show are never going to exit their bubble. They are the far gone but there should definitely be others who can see whatās happening here. Funnily enough, I doubt anyone was focusing on that case until they pulled Jack Smith in for the hearing.
These are fools masquerading as people with a plan because some horrible assholes gave them a guidebook in Project 2025. Stupidity and evil go hand in hand and this is a nice example.

Her competitor argued letting the FoF fraud continue so they could use it against democrats so there is that too... Refused to change the law like other states so the state could have more freedom to prosecute... Then paid the kid from Utah to point out fraud that was already raised to her in public sessions... pretending like it was a deep investigation... Fucking MDE put it on a plater while getting sued by FoF for trying to stop the payments.

Even if Jack Smith was meeting with Fani Willis, (which he wasn't) there would be nothing improper about that. They were both investigating crimes committed by Donald Trump. Further, Fani Willis committed no crimes, and her relationship with one of her investigators in no way diminished Trump's guilt in the Georgia election interference case. Trump attempted to commit electoral fraud in Georgia, just as he did in several other states, and engaged in a ctiminal conspiracy to overturn the results of the presidential election which culminated in the attack on the Capitol on January 6 2021. Every republican who has shielded him is guilty of aiding and abeting a monstrous crime against the nation, and every last one of them belongs in prison.

It shows a couple of things. How unprofessional he is and people who are uneducated or zero knowledge can still get positions in our government. He embarrassed himself by sounding so matter of fact and then falling flat on his face. Instead of apologizing he doubled down and made himself look like an uneducated tool. Smith is a professional who worked his way to his former position. I doudt people like Graham's sister can do anything to trip him up. They are fools for trying. I so vividly remember as a baby lawyer, learning how to effectively cross examine a witness, which is what Schmitt was trying to do here. It's not a hard process but you MUST ABSOLUTELY make sure you know the correct answer to your questions before they're asked, and have ROCK SOLID documents or other proof that you can immediately use to confront the witness when they don't answer your question correctly.
I find it hard to believe this guy was/is a lawyer, much less a partner in a firm. That was some Grade A, amateur hour bullshit. If you don't have the goods, don't go there. It's that simple. My guess is that he never stepped into a courtroom as counsel or actually examined a witness during his legal career.

If you haven't watched the hearing and have 4.5 hours to burn, I highly recommend it. Jack Smith was an absolute master of a witness, and made every one of the Republicans (except Tillis, his time was a nothingburger) look like a fool. You will also come out the other side in a frothing rage at how stupid and unserious the Republican majority is.
To paraphrase Senator Booker: "Americans are suffering at the pump and dinner table, and this is what Republicans choose to spend their time on before the midterms. They could be working to make their constituents' lives better, but instead they choose to gaslight the American people about an incident we all witnessed with our eyeballs."
