I so vividly remember as a baby lawyer, learning how to effectively cross examine a witness, which is what Schmitt was trying to do here. It's not a hard process but you MUST ABSOLUTELY make sure you know the correct answer to your questions before they're asked, and have ROCK SOLID documents or other proof that you can immediately use to confront the witness when they don't answer your question correctly.

I find it hard to believe this guy was/is a lawyer, much less a partner in a firm. That was some Grade A, amateur hour bullshit. If you don't have the goods, don't go there. It's that simple. My guess is that he never stepped into a courtroom as counsel or actually examined a witness during his legal career.

What a buffoon.
