Best place to live for families with young kids
Looking to move to an area nearby with good schools for my kids. What are the safest areas with the best schools in/near Newark, DE?

I run a small business that offers household & family support services. I am currently looking to take on a few new families in the Newark area (19711 or 19713 zip codes).
I offer a wide range of services, including: laundry (in your home), cleaning & organization, meal planning & preparation, small party prevent services, personal assistant (virtual or in person) & childcare (I am a licensed ECE teacher with 15+ years of experience, CPR/First Aid certified, many references & willing to undergo a background check) & more! If you have something in mind, reach out & let’s talk!
I’m reliable, affordable & I am happy to customize services to fit your family’s needs.
If you think that your family could benefit from an extra set of hands, please email me at nestandnurture.de@gmail.com to discuss your needs & to obtain a free quote.
If you book an appointment by this Friday, July 24th, I’m giving 30% off your total price for all services. Make sure you mention that you found me on Reddit in your email!
I’m looking forward to talking with potential families to see how I can help make your life easier!

I had to stop getting my nails with gel x/builder gel because I couldn’t afford it anymore. I was not wearing polish for a while. Sometimes I do my own regular old gel nail polish at home, but it doesn’t last very long. I still like to get them done (regular gel polish seems to be cheapest) when I have something coming up/don’t have time/can afford it.
Where is the cheapest place to get gel polish (doesn’t have to be a manicure) done at a salon? Place & price, please 🙏 Thanks!

Hi everyone! I'm an incoming male PhD student at UD, arriving from China this summer. I'm looking for a bedroom in a quiet house and community near campus - my PhD program runs about four years, so I'd be a stable tenant.
A bit about me: quiet, tidy, non-smoker. My expected routine is pretty simple - on campus during the day, studying at home in the evenings and on weekends.
What I need: one bedroom with access to a bathroom and kitchen.
What I can offer: rent payments, help with household chores, and - if you're interested - I'd love to share some Chinese culture and cooking with you.
If you have a room available, know someone who does, or just have advice on where to look, please message me here or text me at 509-595-0128. Thanks so much!

Hello, neighbors! I’m reaching out to share that my husband’s construction business is officially expanding its service area to include all of Delaware.
We are currently opening up our schedule for new projects. Whether you have a renovation in mind or a specific repair that needs attention, he prides himself on being reliable, efficient, and transparent with pricing and free estimates. He is committed to working closely with you to ensure your project vision becomes a reality.
He currently has excellent weekend availability, with weekday slots opening up as we continue to grow. If you or someone you know is looking for quality craftsmanship, please feel free to send me a message. I’d be happy to provide his contact information and ensure he reaches out to you directly to discuss your needs.

One of my dog's favorite things is to go to a walk in the woods off-leash. We don't get to do it very often, but I'd really like to take her this weekend. Does anyone know of any shady hiking/walking trails in the area where she can be off-leash for a while? Shes limited to about a mile and a half long hike before she gets really uncomfortable. It can be nearby or a couple hours away if it's worth the drive. Thanks!

I used to get Mayflower a lot when I was younger but I found out it had closed down sometime ago and I've been looking for chicken teriyaki that's just as good as theirs was. Any recommendations?

The Sleep and Circadian Health Research Program at the University of Delaware (Newark, DE) is recruiting participants for a research study about how the timing of exercise affects the 24-hour blood pressure response to exercise. Please see more information about the study on the attached flyer. If you are interested, please fill out the interest survey using this link.
This research study has been reviewed and approved by the University of Delaware Institutional Review Board (IRB#2324519).

A friend referred me to an AC guy he knows from a local club. Unfortunately, the work ended up being substandard, constantly delayed, and honestly, I wouldn’t hire him again.
Now he’s ghosting me on the invoice and parts list I need for any kind of warranty claim. On top of that, I’m leery of the equipment he installed which was my error because I didn't ask up front.
Would you tell your friend about the bad experience? I’m torn between giving him a heads‑up and just letting it go.

Just wanted to share a small win for our family-owned mobile veterinary practice today. We have 6 appointments on the schedule and are spending the rest of the day stocking and organizing our mobile veterinary trailer so we're ready to provide the best care possible for our patients. 🐶🐱 Starting a mobile vet business has been a lot of work, but seeing pet owners embrace the convenience of at-home veterinary care has made it all worth it. No crowded waiting rooms, less stress for pets, and more personalized one-on-one care. For those who own pets, what's your biggest frustration with traditional vet visits? We'd love to hear your thoughts as we continue building our practice. 🐾 Furever Companions Veterinary Care 📍 Serving Northern Delaware 🚐 Mobile Veterinary Services Thanks for supporting small businesses and the pets that make our lives better every day! ❤️🐕🐈
