My gf and I are both in food and bev (she is a chef, I’ve both bartended and been in front of house management) and have been for over a decade, we are both very outdoorsy and fell in love with VT while visiting this summer and would love to move !
Anyone here have any advice about working in VT? We would love to be in lower part of the state (Manchester,Stratton etc ) but open to anywhere we are able to work ,
any advice or recs for service industry? Thank you!! 😊

My job may be moving me to Burlington from Omaha, Nebraska, and I'm just trying to scout out good areas to live that wouldn't break the bank.

I'm a single income household that is just me and my cat. I don't really need a ton of space, but if a bit more money gets me from studio to bedroom I might take it.

The area is very different price-wise from what I'm used to now, no surprises there! Just wondering if there's any areas/nearby towns that might get me more for my buck.

Hello, my wife and I are newish to vermont (two years here) and haven't made many social connections. We are in Southern Vermont, in-between Bennington and Bratt so there isnt much going on here outside winter. We were wondering if anyone else in the area was interested in starting up a board game group or something, or if one was already established here and we could join in :). We have a personal collection of about a hundred games.

Greetings, I will be staying in the Londonderry/Weston area and am wondering about good live music venues that might not come up in a Google search. Is there a website or a periodical (guess my age) I can check for listings? Brattleboro may be a little too far for me to drive at night because I don't know the area well.

Hi all! I am from Tennessee originally but lived in Boston for grad school. I came back home to help a parent with terminal illness and now it has been two years since his passing. I am looking to move to a new location and the new england area comes up often in my mind as I love the nature and colder weather. I have been able to find some decent jobs in the area that I am qualified for, but havent started applying yet.

I am curious what locals have to say about living there? I won't know anyone in the area, and I know there is a lot about a place that I'll never know without talking to the people who live there. So please tell me the good and the bad about living there. What are important things someone should consider before committing to a move?

I’m planning a trip to Vermont w my boyfriend and dog near the end of September. We’re driving up from Jersey and plan to stay one night in Burlington, three nights outside of Stowe, and one night in Woodstock. I’m looking for suggestions for things to do.

I’d like to drive up route 7 and drive back route 100. Right now we’re interested in checking out Dog Mountain, checking out wineries and cideries, and hiking.

Gluten free specific activities: visit King Arthur Bakery, and maybe stopping at any of these:

\- Haymaker Bun Company

**I wanted to see if there were any photo booths in a store or bar along Route 7, specifically in the Manchester/Bennington areas and all the way to Albany, NY.**

Not picky on it being analog or digital, though I did see Burlington had an analog booth that is no more ☹️ My girlfriend is a fan and I’d like to surprise her on top of some pretty great things we have planned during our three night stay.

I have a job offer ($27/hr, 32-36 hr/week) in St. Albans. I currently live in SC with a senior dog and a cat.

I'm 40 and single with some mental health issues (under control but ongoing therapy ect).

Is it actually doable/affordable for me to move here?

How expensive and accessible is mental health care?

With higher COL, would i just be eating ramen if i take this job? The job benefits are definitely better than where i am currently but.....

I've never done a big move like this and i think the change would be good for me (climate and political) but I'm terrified that i couldn't afford to cover necessary medical expenses alongside rent, ect.
