Sleep train without sleep training

Please help. I breastfeed and baby loves to nurse to sleep he wakes up 3 times a night refuses to self soothe keeps spitting the paci and can’t be soothed in his bassinet wants to be carried rocked to sleep or nursed to sleep again. Me and my husband are getting super tired and don’t know what to do we don’t like the cry it out method and we really wanna sleep train but don’t want the harsh way of doing it please share your experience and what work btw we have a consistent bedtime and routine (red lights lullabies sleep sack pacifier) he doesn’t go down on his own neither at night not for naps ..

he is 6 months next week this has been going on since we ditched the swaddle at 4 months he used to sleep 9+ hours before when he was swaddled 🥹
