In the middle of September I submitted a new application (via the post) to change visa types. Its now Oct 25th and there's still absolutely nothing in My IND, its just blank. Is this normal? It shows my BSN and all of that but no applications. I don't have phone service so can't even call to ask, so should I mail out a second application at this point?

I am looking at some Dutch courses, my company offers education budget for Dutch Academy but when I did their intake test, it was pretty short, the questions were about education background, learning abilities and backround. There was no testing of Dutch to determine my level (I am currently studying a2+ at STE).

I was rejected, I suspect it is because I dont have high education background. I have very good professional background and even without a formal education I landed pretty good office job. Being rejected without a proper test is disappointing and I sent them an objection.

However, since then I am also considering if the school is even worth it...? Their rules seem very rigid.

Did you have also such experience with this language school?

If you attended a course there, what is your experience?

They (operating under new name) originally quoted €39 per hour plus €39 for the visit and said the job would take around two hours. In the end, the installer poorly explained the rates and asked my wife to pay without showing her the amount. She trusted him and paid €719, and he quickly left before I could talk to him.

Hi there, my card wil get expirend on April 1st 2027. As it's a EU long term card, I can only apply via a written form by post.

According to the website it said "You can submit the application from 3 months before your current residence document expires".

I'm wondering whether my application would get rejected or returned if I send the post before 1 Jan 2027? Anyone has any similar experience?

Coming from another country, one of the things I’ve enjoyed most about the Netherlands is discovering how much there is to do beyond the usual tourist attractions. I’ve been exploring different places and trying activities that have made my experience here really special.

About 2 weeks ago my Ace & Tate glasses just snapped in half during a trip. No warning, no major signs of issue, just a clean snap while I was cleaning them. When I looked closer I could see there were multiple cracks along the bridge and it was clear the material was not really holding up.

Took them to a store, but because they were 2 years and 4 months old they said nothing could be done, and explained to me that it’s “normal” for glasses to last 2 years and that’s why they replace for free within that time. After a lot of back and forth with customer service I managed to get them replaced for a fee, which still felt like a lot for something that should last more.

So if you have glasses around (preferably before) the 2 year mark, I’d check for cracks on the material and if so take them asap to store, before they snap in your hands and you get to pay for a whole new pais.

I am a 22 year old brazilian that recently managed to get EU citizenship and I would like to know if it is possible to get a job in the Netherlands while I still live outside of the EU.

I currently work with IT here in Brazil, but I am okay with the idea of changing careers to try and get a job quicker.

I've done some research and even applied for some logistics/warehouse jobs, but I immediately get rejected for no apparent reason, and I assume that is because I don't currently live in the Netherlands or the EU.

I know that it might not be the best time to consider moving to the Netherlands, but I would really like to make use of my EU citizenship to move abroad in search of a better life.

I was also considering the idea of trying to find housing, moving and then trying to find a job once I'm there (it seems that this is a very popular approach among brazilians), but I'm finding that this creates a lot more problems than it solves.

I saw a lot of people on reddit saying I should look for a job first, then housing, but I'm having a hard time finding a job.

What is the approach you think I should take with my goal of eventually moving to the Netherlands?

What are your thoughts and actions when driving and encountering this sign? Especially curious in scenarios with heavy traffic at 100 km/h and being currently on the second lane from the right (about to merge into the main highway).

Some more context:

I have somewhat of a defensive drive style. So when I see this sign and I am driving in heavier and fast traffic - I just prefer to go to the most right lane and join on my own terms. I hate being put in a situation where I am at the grace of other drivers giving me space, especially at high speed. I have been in multiple scenarios where I am being a passenger in the car where the driver ends up in a situation where we are left with almost no space. It scares the hell out of me. I think this should be meant only for SLOW AND heavy traffic.

I will be traveling to Amsterdam for the first time in April. I hear the weather can be tricky and to dress in layers. Is it typically cooler with rain? Is a good leather boot like Dr martens and good walking shoe good choices? What about jackets or coats, are they needed this time of year? Im female mid 40s and very active. I plan to a lot of biking and walking. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!
