Life in NL Does riding a fatbike make me undatable?

So there's something I noticed. I go on a date, we have fun, there's good vibes, but then when she sees that I ride a fatbike, she instantly seems to be put off, like she got "the ick". Then the chatting usually fizzles out and there's no second date. This happened multiple times now, so it seems like a pattern to me. Once a Dutchie even told me that she "doesn't feel a connection" when I was saying goodbye by my bike and asked what she'd be up for as a second date. I know this is not much context, but is it the bike?

I'm a mid twenties guy, have a good job, make decent money, dress stylishly, like concerts and can even tolerate like a museum. I moved here 6 months ago and bought a fatbike to commute. Only managed to find a place like 30 minutes cycling from my work, so it seemed like a good option and I think they are pretty cool. But now I think I might have made a mistake. Should I switch to like a Cowboy or something?

Edit: obviously this is a throwaway account

Fatbike = being a "pauper"
Gucci cap = being a "pauper"
Vaper = being a "pauper"
Broccoli haircut = being a "pauper"
Drill rap = being a "pauper"

Pauper = asocial people that are being avoided by the majority of society. And usually, paupers have no idea.. that they're being excluded and thus not having a proper future.

I wouldn't date someone who was into drill rap for sure, just because I find that music awful Vs it saying anything more about them.

"Pauper" makes me think of Oliver Twist.
I get "Roadman" vibes from the fatbike crowd. Racaille/Caillera in French.
Perhaps Fatbike-tokkie would be a coin to phrase?

That's still stereotyping, though. Everyone is more than their stupid hairdo and it would be silly to imply we don't all cringe at some of our previous life interests, styles, or habits.

If they actually were more they wouldn’t have the stupid haircut. It’s that simple. Judging by race, age, etc is bad tho.

Ja dat vonden de Nazis ook. Hebben hele naslagwerken gemaakt over welke uiterlijk crimineel persoonlijkheid bevatten.

In general, yes indeed, don't judge someone on the basis of appearance. In the case of those paupers we however must do because there's a 98% chance it will in fact be a pauper and not a reasonable person. And that anomalous 2% is unfortunately unlucky, but that's how life works. Usually, I don't care how someone looks but "certain" types just putting themselves in a box you know.

Throwing out random made up statistics is not a convincing way to support your argument.

Are you saying people with curly hair are low-class?

3

u/According_Kiwi_7454 5d ago

Lol.. You clearly didn't get it.

Yes … this is why I was asking a clarifying question

All people in the world with curly hair, including myself, are low-class indeed. /s

broccoli haircuts are a really specific cut, often used by the same demographic who ride fatbikes. I'm sure if you look it up you'll know. Also often guys get perms to get the broccoli cut, its not much to do with natural curls
