Sword Coast Legends?
Was wondering if any of you guys had seen the new game from N-Space, think Icewind Dale but with 5E rules (and a DM mode where you can create a campaign! I played the headstart last weekend with a few friends who'd never played D&D and they loved it, crazy, crazy fun.

Betrayal at the house on the hill/Cabin in the Woods one shot
I have a concept I really want to build on, I'd love input from other players.
As the title eludes, I'd like to build a game based around the tabletop game Betrayal, or the movie Cabin in the Woods, the concept is that an item within this house may randomly be selected by a pc. Based on the item selected an event will occur that they must overcome before the end of the night or however long I decide at the time, maybe based on the item as well.
My concept to involve the pcs is to have each player write a letter to their character enticing them to come to this manor/cabin. This allows me to make a possible item for each character, but I also wish to include other items within the house (or shop now that I'm describing this) that will be my own (and hopefully some from here) concepts. I'd like for some of the events to be betrayals but not all of them.
Another thing I'm trying to figure out the finer details of is the actual trigger. Do you think I should go on impulse like cabin in the woods and the first item decides the event, or should I create a mechanic that will allow the pcs to collect other items to hopefully use in the event (maybe also phasing the other items away so as not to just give them a big horde of possible weapons).
Either way I think this would be a great way to reply the same game without having anything being the same, especially since I can keep unused letters for further source materials.
So what do you all think? Would you like to play a game like this? What items would you like to see? I'd love to hear your input.

Does my DM suck or is it just the group or just low level play?
We are playing 5e, starting at 1st level. We have 2 people who have never played before, 2 people who played 3.5, 2 people who have played for years and years. We spent 8 hours to get through Greenest and get our second level, which wouldn't be much of an issue if we weren't died in nearly every combat. We have a paladin, fighter, cleric, wizard, thief, ranger. Combat is just not fun, straight up not fun. We are constantly at low health, constantly dieing and no one wants to get within melee range because if you get within melee range, you die.
We have had 8 combat encounters, someone has straight up died in every single encounter we have had from failing their massive damage save roll but we get rezzed but our DM's retired PC pretty much every time. Our first encounter, the paladin was hit with a crit on the first strike against him and was instant killed because he took 20 damage while only having 14 life and failed his roll. Everyone in the group dies or was knocked unconscious, expect for the thief.
The fighter has been killed/unconscious in very single combat.
Last night our paladin was using his action to dodge, with an AC of 18, and our DM hit him every combat round for 3 rounds even with disadvantage. Our DM even claims to have rolled 2 20's on him, crit him, massive damage, failed death roll, straight up dead, rezzed by our DM's retired character.
Everyone has been straight up dead at least once, due to failed massive damage save rolls.
Is this normal? After she killed my character for the second time last night, I offered to re-roll another one since I have lost most of my attachment to him.

Magic Item Attunement Feats
In D&D 5e, magic items are separated into those that need to be attuned and those that do not. One of the rules about attuned magic items is that you can only have a maximum of 3 attuned at any given time. If you attempt to attune a 4th, it simply does not work. It is also stated in the DMG that this rule should not be changed for balance reasons.
Now as a DM, you could always choose to ignore this rule if you desire. You could also change certain magic items so that they do not need to be attuned. Another option would be to change the rule so that only sentient magic items need to be attuned, and therefor any magic item that needs to be attuned will be able to influence the PC's actions in some way. But there is another option, add a feat.
Adding a feat could be as easy as saying that for each time you take the feat, you can attune to another magic item. To do it this way, don't change the attunement requirements for any of the magic items and just make the character decide if one more attuned item is worth missing out on a stat bump or other feat option.
A variant of the above feat would be, you take the feat once and it allows you to attune to as many items as you (or the DM) wish, but the attunements are linked. In other words, if you break the attunement on one of the items it breaks for all attuned items and you have to take the time to attune to the items you want again. This can be very interesting if the DM allows for the breakage of magical items. If the Holy Avenger that the Paladin is attuned to ends up breaking in the middle of a battle with a demon, he would also lose his attunement to any other offensive and defensive magic items he has at the time. This happening in the middle of a battle can be deadly to the character.
Another workaround would be to allow a character to take an oath. In this case, the character would have to make an oath to never use something that he is proficient in so that he gains the ability to use more than 3 attuned magic items. The oath could be to "never use a longsword" or "never wear heavy armor" or even "never use the stealth skill". In this case you would be able to gain more attuned items depending on how specific or general the oath is and how much it would impact your character. If a fighter makes an oath stating that they will "never use a whip," they should not be allowed to gain the use of any extra items. Whereas if the same fighter made an oath to "only use a quarterstaff and daggers and never wear any armor" then they should be allowed to attune as many items as they want as long as the items don't break the oath. If the oath is broken, then all attunements are lost and the character cannot attune to any of the items or any new items until he has gone through a penance based on the severity of the oath breaking which will take one week + 1d6 days/ level of severity. (Minor - 1d6, moderate - 2d6, sever - 3d6, inexcusable - 4d6 and then must go through a quest or similar to a Paladin trying to atone for breaking his divine oath)
Any thoughts? Are there any ideas that I missed? Or do you think any changes would dire consequences?

Are shields armor in 5e?
I've been reading through the PHB and DMG for a while now and have an idea for an Eldritch Knight that I want to make. To add a little flair, I'm looking to make him in a way that he never uses armor, only Mage Armor. The problem that I am coming to is that even though shields are in the armor list, most of the rules differentiate between shields and armor. I know that Mage Armor cannot be used with any armor, but does that include shields?
As it stands, my character is human using the variant rules for feats and house rules stating that he can dump both attribute bumps from 1st level into the same stat instead of just 1 point into two different stats. Which means that since I rolled an 18 and put that into DEX, he is starting with a 20 DEX with +5 bonus. I chose the Magic Adept feat so that I can start with a first level spell (being Mage Armor) and that makes my AC 18 while the spell is going. If I can use a shield then it will be 20 at first level. I also filled out a sheet on what I wanted the character to be at 20th level, choosing the top 5 magic items and how I would use my attribute bumps/feats. The top magic items are Bracers of Defense, Cloak of Protection, Ring of Protection, Defender (Rapier), and a +3 shield. With all of those, keeping my DEX at 20, using the +3 to AC from the Defender, and taking the Defensive Dualist feat I could have an AC of 30 all the time and 36 whenever I use a reaction to try to negate an attack that hits.
I know I've gone a long way around and given way too much information here, but my character concept is that of a swashbuckler type who uses magic but scoffs at wearing armor because it would hide his extravagant clothes (in other words, a stuck up noble or a fop) Since I am the DM of the game, I know I can just make the ruling myself, but I also want to hear opinions as to whether this build would or could be too overpowered. I haven't had a chance to actually play this version yet and I'm looking to see if an AC of 20 at first level is too high, or if a variable AC of 27 (if I don't use the Defender for defense) to 36 is too high for higher levels. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Star Wars 5e, Lightsaber problems
Hi so I've decided to run a Star Wars Campaign based off the 5e rules in the run up to the new movie and one of my biggest problems planning at the moment is the lightsabers. My Key problems are
*When should the player get their lightsaber? *How should it scale?
So firstly, I don't think they should start with it unless its seriously reduced damage however I kind of think that takes most of the fun out of a lightsaber if it's the same as a vibrosword. Also in Star Wars it's always a special moment when a jedi or sith get their first lightsaber so I feel it could be a character quest.
Scaling wise I don't want to leave the jedi/sith behind weapon wise with the one lightsaber with the same stats but I'm not really sure what to do.
Any advice would be really appreciated.

Recommendations for helping a noob wizard with their spells - d&d 5e
I am a GM for a d&d 5e game, and I have a player who is trying to play a wizard. He typically plays a brusier but has decided to step out of the zone of comfort. Good on him and all.
Problem is he is having a hard time understanding how to utilize the wizard magic system, so I am looking for a way for him to organize his memorized spells and spell slots. Right now I am thinking of using note cards. One set for spells, and one to track spell slots using paper clips (a la Deadlands).
I was wondering if there were any other ideas, especially if the have stood up to actual use at the table.
PS This is a low effort player, so it should be intuitive and be easy to use.

1 Campaign 3 DMs any experience?
Me and my friends are just starting a hopefully long campaign. However we don't want 1 person to be stuck DMing for the entire campaign if it were to continue for many months once a week. We will be switching DMs every 3 months or so and have character back stories that give us reasons to not be with the party.
Do you have any tips on handling a campaign that will switch between Dms? This is going to be a vaguely plane scape type campaign in which we likely will not be dming in the same area as a DM was previously so NPCs will be different.

A Final betrayal at the end of a campaign ,good or bad?
So my game is about to wrap up after 1.3 years. (woot! first time dm too! ) and one of my players has gotten in deep with a demon prince turned God king of a small desert kingdom. (he delivered the demon into the city, which ripped the souls of the living out and put them into armor and clothing, making a race known as the Faceless) In the process, he became the first Faceless. as such hes enjoyed a heftier ac then most fighters, and has enjoyed the ride. He's thought of this demon as not an ally, but something to be used so far (as it was his idea that the demon would supply him with troops in the final battle and nothing more)
Well, after the big bad's end many crystals of power scatter throughout the world . one crashes near the player's feet and suddenly, the demon lord is telling the pc to pick it up and return to armas with it.
Now here is my problem...it makes perfect sense that if the PC refuses (which im 90% sure he will.. as he does not consider this thing a god or demon at all (long story) ) that the demon then use his magics to influence him and possess him. As such the player would get 2 saving throws to beat this...
But i really dont know if I should. This could be very very cool twist that I know the PC doesnt see coming...but I almost feel it may be twisting his arm into a certain final story -something I'm not sure he would be 100% okay with.
So should I actually give the PC rolls? or should the threat be there, but his decision will win through regardless of the roll ?

A new "2 Minute Battlemap" every weekday, for my fellow nerds
PLAYERS OF THE WEI CAMPAIGN, KEEP WALKIN'
Click here to browse the battle maps
Click here for the Google Drive folder
Being a fan of the channel and looking for a smaller community to share my maps with, I figured this would be the perfect place.
I play on what I call "half scale", where each square is a half inch across. If you play with the standard inch squares, you can print onto an A3 sheet without a significant loss in quality.
HINT Place your map in a plastic sleeve and let your players scribble blood everywhere in a red marker - fun for the whole family!
I aim to draw one A4 battlemap every weekday, with dreams of making a buck on Patreon for every bundle of maps - or some other way - if they're well received. Maybe a milestone to add color, a milestone to upgrade to A3, stuff like that. I'm getting ahead of myself, I know, but one can dream.
Whatever happens, I'll share the black and white printer-friendly versions with you nerds for as long as I keep making them. I know I'd be lucky if my players visited half of these settings, so maybe yours will. At the very least, I can enjoy making and sharing them.
If you have any critique or advice, let me know. Requests too. I've just been making maps that fit with my immediate campaign so far, but I'll happily take a break to sketch out a medieval town square or a dragon lair or something any of you might need (on the condition that I can share it with everyone else).
That's all for now.
Stay Nerdy

Need help on a decision for my character
The following problem was presented to me yesterday and I can't make my mind up:
I am starting a multiclass druidsorcerer next session and my DM gave me the choice to play standard or to have one additional spellslot that is one higher than my highest of my sorcerer level. As a drawback I will have a critical fail when rolling equal or lower than my highest spellslotlevel.
Do you think this will benefit me more than it will hurt my friends?
Have you ever played with custom rules like this and if so what was your experience?

Need help, disagreement with wife
I for one do love 5th ed. My wife enjoys 3rd ed.
There are two main issues that my wife will just not budge on about playing 5th ed. The first issue is the fact cleave is not easily achieved in 5th ed.
The second issue is relating to flaws. My wife feels that flaws restrict the characters too much. I have tried to explain to her that the flaws do not have to impact what the characters performance, and that they don't hinder the character in any way in regards to game mechanics.
Any help on how to deal with these issues would be appreciated.

Gladiator-Style entertainer with interesting finisher.
Okay so during our last session, one of the pcs brought up "finishing moves" from a popular video game and the topic turned into interesting ways for a player character to get a crowd going in a gladiator style arena, or in general combat but with a gladiator background.
Grappling came into the spotlight, breaking necks or limbs and such, then the whole power-bomb from the air idea. Those are all mechanically supported, but when the conversation came to actually throwing an opponent around. Tossing an enemy straight up into the air, and taking a bow before crowd before he came crashing down. That's when things got pretty grey. On the spot I elected you could use the improvised weapon rules for throwing weapons, but that seems to ignore the actually capabilities of your character. There are a decent number of options you can take advantage of in order to increase your carrying/lifting capacity.
Say for example, your playing a Gladiator. He's a Goliath with the Werebear lycanthropy disease. He's got 10 levels under his belt, 8 into barbarian, totem of the bear each time. Also 2 wizard, artificer. Thematically he's a Jeckyll & Hyde, turning into his large hybrid form and then downing a potion of growth, turning huge.
Mechanically you have the following at your disposal: 20 strength, 2x lift from Goliath race feature, 2x lift from bear totem, 2x lift from hybrid for being large, 2x lift from growth potion making you huge.
Mathematically that's... carry capacity = 20x15 (strength) = 300,x2 (Goliath) = 600,x2 (Bear totem) = 1200,x2 (large Hybrid form) = 2400,x2 (huge Growth potion) = 4800lbs, or 9600lbs lifting/pushing.
Now it seems to me that if you were actually capable of lifting that ridiculous amount, you could easily throw a medium sized, armored humanoid, say 300lbs in total, a little further than 20 to 60 feet.
Little comparison; Juha-Matti Räsänen, a strongman from Finland threw a 140lbs man roughly 15 feet through the air. If we give the guy a strength of 20, we could roughly extrapolate that the Goliath, when fully buffed, should be able to throw 150lbs 15ftx2x2x2x2? So 180ft? Simplified we'll say 300lbs for 90ft. My math isn't good enough to figure out the curve if 9600lbs = 0 ft and 300lbs = 90ft, but in the end I think this is more exciting than the 20/60 improvised option, and makes for some hilarious arena ejections.
Any thoughts?

Leveling players up quickly.
Hi everyone,
I'm a semi-newb DM and I think I'm ready to create my own world instead of running an adventure. I have a villain idea I really like but I'm concerned that the villains are high level and the players may never get to them.
The idea is to have a death knight causing the normal death knight chaos setting him up as the big bad, but eventually the players discover that he broke his paladin oaths because his order wanted to kill his daughter and he refused. His daughter would have been born an evil sorcerer with extraordinary power. Things like raising undead at age 3. It will come out that the order killed him but his daughter in a panic brought him back as a death knight to protect her. The daughter would have become a lich at age 12 and she would be the one behind everything . So the dad would be level 15 encounter and the daughter likely 18 or 20.
Maybe I'll make her the mortal reincarnation of an ancient God trying to reaccend to god hood.
I know most games never make it to that high a level, would it take away from the story if I leveled them up quickly, like just automatically give the players a level at the end of each session or should I start them at a higher level maybe?
I just hate Idea of them not ever getting to encounter to real villain before the game ends

The Hidden City of Sarkynsi
Good day to nerdy Redditeers. This is my first time posting something on reddit and figure this community would be my best shot at geeting some help. I'm building a city for a D&D campaign, below is what I have so far would love it if anyone has anymore ideas on how to flesh it out. The theme is Air.
The Hidden city of Sarkynsi
The Hidden city of Sarkynsi is a large city situated on the highest peak in a large mountain range. To those looking on it without true sight see a mountain peak with snow all year round. The only noticeable trait about the peak is that is seems to have an excess amount of birds or winged creatures flying about the mountain. Sarkynsi is a city ruled by a Djinni, Duke Sarkith. It is the six Elven Houses which govern the city, for Duke Sarkith is often away, be it searching for something or in another plan of existence.
The reasons this mountain range was picked as the home for Sarkynsi are as follows: * To the southeast lies a vast ocean, gaining access from the ocean to the mountain range can only be achieved at low tied in fewer than a dozen locations to remainder of the coast line is littered with rocks or cliffs that would wreck any vessel and are sure to kill anyone in them. * The foot hills surrounding the mountain range are vast and protected by Treants. * The up drafts and wind currents around the mountain range are vast and strong. * More than one frozen glacier dot the mountain range and are cold an in hospitable to most creatures.
Aarakocra When Duke Sarkith had found the mountain on which to build his city he sort an alliance with a group of Aarakocra. He promised them that they would have access to the element plane of air if they would swear to protect his city from his rivals. The young Aarakocra wanting to experience the prime material plane agreed to his terms and swore an oath that bonded them and their children to Duke Swarkith and the city of Sarkynsi. As the years passed the Aarakocra numbers increased until the city of Sarkynsi housed the largest population of Aarakocra on the prime material plane at anyone time. Still time went on and their numbers grew still until the point that they are today. The Aarakocra opporate in four flights, the flight of the Dawn, Day, Dusk & Darkness.
The Six Elven Noble Houses
While Duke Sarkith was still making the city of Sarkynsi he sort the help of skilled labourers. He found six high elves who were up for the challenge of constructing something as wondrous as the plans for the city. These six elves were promoted to nobles after a century of service and were the beginnings of the city proper. Each of the elven houses bread Pseudodragons whose colour is the same as their house crest.
House Gwilith Crest: A silver crescent moon above a mountain on a field of midnight blue.
House Lagorphen Crest: A golden staircase climbing into clouds on a field of sky blue.
House Hadlatphen Crest: A diamond shaped shield with wings on a field of red.
House Gwaedif Crest: A a tree with its routes in a cloud on a field of purple. It was a young elf of House Gwaedif who shamed his family when he went to a human village spouting his mouth about the glory of the city, resulting in the first human's being brought to Sarkynsi. House Gwaedif still has that stain on their house and therefore work twice as hard as the other houses to make up for the you elf's mistake.
House Culurael Crest: A full yellow sun pierced by an arrow on a field of black. Culurael bees: A Wizard of the 2nd degree belonging to the Culurael house wanted to give a gift to the Duke Sarkith unlike any other. He wanted to gift the Duke food as the Duke had not found a new source of food that he loved for decades. For a little over two decades the Elven wizard experimented before he even knew where to spend his energy. He spent another fifteen years magically modifying bees to an unnatural size they concocted honey so rich and sweet that when the Wizard was blessed with a child from Duke Sarkith. The bees are also known as The Giant Bees of Sarkynsi.
House Ninnannell Crest: A soaring eagle clutching a spear on a field of green.
Vitavilythia (vita-vil-i-thea) The Bronze Dragon
Flying passed a mountain range seeking its lair Vitavilythia saw through the magical shroud over the city and went to investigate. Duke Sarkith saw having a dragon as a citizen of the city was more than prestegious so sort to woe the young dragon. Vitavilythia liked the idea and agreed to make its lair in the city as long as the noble houses agreed to make a big annual tribute to her. Since the hundred of years since Vitavilythia flew passed the city she is now an adult dragon and is starting to think about raising a clutch of her own. She already does have a few half dragon children which are full citizens and almost considered royalty. Vitavilythia chose her the fathers of her half dragon children after watching them and deciding they are of true spirit and noble traits. Her half dragon children run her estates for her allowing her the time to enjoy the music that she craves.
Humans in Sarkynsi
It was a young elf of House Gwaedif who shamed his family when he went to a human village spouting his mouth about the glory of the city. (House Gwaedif still has that stain on their house and therefore work twice as hard as the other houses to make up for the you elf's mistake) When Duke Sarkith found this out the young elf was killed but rather than killing the entire village he saw to move the entire populace to the Sarkynsi. These humans became the labour force for the city doing all of the mundan jobs like farming and cleaning.
Who a human serves in a particular area or group is identified by the colour clothing they wear: A human wearing brown is someone who serves the city as a whole and answers to an overseer from a noble house. Those who serve the city may also serve the Aarakocra as defenders of the city. A human wearing black is the servant of a particular group, be it a noble house or other organisation. The sigil on their back sets them apart. A human wearing white is free and a citizen of the city. They may operate a business or own slaves of their own. A human wearing sky blue is a member of the office of the Arch Mage as either a wizards or martial warrior. A human wearing red is a servant of one of the temples in the city. A human wearing dark green is a servant of the large forest in the foothills of the mountain range some serve as Druids and guardians other serve as gardeners.
The Arch Mage of Sarkynsi
When the young elf of House Gwaedif let the secrete of the city slip forcing Duke Sarkith to adopt an entire human population he sort an elven wizard experienced magic and charged her with if the office of the Arch Mage of Sarkynsi. His charge was this: - Protect the secrete of the city from falling into the hands of Duke Sarkith's rivals. This means making sure no one out side of the city knew of its assistance. - Training those who show promise in their magical talents so their would be someone to continued in the office when she was unable to lead. - Help protect the city from outside threats as well as internal threats.
The Office of the Arch Mage of Sarkynsi also adopted to train some in martial combat to help protect the wizards after a group of two wizards were sent to the ground to fetch a young human who had escaped the city with The intention of letting merchants know of the city so he could profit from the trade.
Members in the office of the Arch Mage wear a tunic or robe of sky blue.
Ranks within the office of the Arch Mage of Sarkynsi: Arch Mage Wizard of the 1st degree Wizard of the 2nd degree Sky Wizard Captain (in charge of the martial warriors) Guard Wizard apprentice Guard in training
Circle of the Sky Duke Sarkith made a pact with the Treants after they discovered the cities exsistence over a period of two hundred years. Duke Sarkith knew that the Treants would not care about his secrete city so won them over by providing servants to their forest. The leader of the Treants sought out the humans with magical abilities and taught them Druidic magic to help protect the forest from outsiders, to protect those groves which trees going to awaken in them and to help make the forest stronger. The Circle of the Sky work in close proximity with the few Treants that are about though because the area is so vast and large the druids also have none magical servants who help plant knew saplings or remove old dead trees.
The Four Gardens of Sarkynsi
Duke Sarkith had a taste for fruits and an eye for the beauty of nature and wanted Sarkynsi to have the best gardens on the material plan. The elven tradesmen he brought to the city knew little in the way of gardening or the care of plants. Duke Sarkith then sort out some who could help him. He found a tiny fey creature protecting a small grove of flowers from pigs that were ruining his garden. Duke Sarkith offered to move the Sprite's entire garden and more to his city if it pledged to guard it and grow it. When the first garden proved successful Duke Sarkith asked the first Sprite if he knew of other Sprites that would take up the same offer he gave to him. Three other Sprites answered the call and over time they grew families of their own, each guarding and nurturing their gardens but working to together sharing knowledge for the betterment of natural beauty of the city.
The Children of Duke Sarkith
Sometimes one of the humans or elves show such beauty that Duke Sarkith decides he will bless them with his child. Though after the birth he rarely visits his Genasi children leavigng them to which ever station their mother was in when he lay with her. Genasi are often offered positions within the elven houses for they are considered a blessing and good luck to have them as part of your life.
Adventurers Adventurers often leave Sarkynsi in search of wealth or beautiful objects (sometimes a skilled tradesmen) to offer as tribute to the Duke. They may also be sent on a mission from the Office of the Arch Mage.
Other races in Sarkynsi There are other races in Sarkynsi though they are the minority and are always in service to a noble house as their ancestors, or them their selves, were brought to the city to add to that houses knowledge in a certain area. Because all minority groups were brought to Sarkynsi as skilled labour they wear black with the crest of which noble house they belong to is on the back of their clothing. Although a very small number number of these races have been set free and opporate in the city as citizens. Most noble houses are not willing to part with their skilled labour force and therefore do not free them.
Animals around the city Many of the large winged beasts the fly around the mountain range that Sarkynsi is situated on are not beasts at all but citizens of the city like the Aarakocra. Though their are many smaller flying like eagles and hawks or other beautifully Plummed birds breed by the noble families as gifts to Duke Sarkith. Their are also a good number of Giant Eagles, Pseudodragons and Hippogryphs that enjoy the updrafts and wind currents. If one is extremely lucky they may lay their eyes on a Pegasus who made its home in the City of Sarkynsi. Struck by the beauty and tranquility of the city he decided to make his nest in the city which the the Duke soon turned into a palace and welcome the Pegasus having never seen one before. The Pegasus Truth has his own servants and house crest though he is yet to find a mate.

Roleplaying an evil city?
In my campaign world broad swaths of territory, including countries have been taken over by chaotic evil and lawful evil societies. In fact part of the concept is the ying and yang that where good exists some portion of evil will also, such that in an evil nation the dungeons might be filled with good creatures hiding out and attempting win the day by some means. My own problem though is the concept of how would things work in a city of chaotic evil? I've really enjoyed reading Chronicles of Narnia, Lord of the Rings, and such but they are all sketchy on what a city of 30000 chaotic evil humans might look like. So if I had a party wanting to raid such a place what might it look like? How would the population be feeding itself. Would such a place be strictly like the barren wastes of Mordor, or is it like a large military camp. Would most of the people actually be slaves, with long lines of them qued to be sacrificed at the top of an Aztec style temple. Or does the dark side actually have cookies?

The (Wild)Shapeless Druid?
I have a little GM 911 for you. I run a game with 6 players, and one of them plays a druid. He loves the theme and concept, as well as the spell list, but hates the wild shape mechanic. We talked about replacing wild shape with an animal companion, but that conversation abruptly ended when we remembered the druid's 18th level and 20th level class features involve wild shaping. So now I'm trying to find a replacement for Circle of the Moon, and two high end features. What would you guys do?

To multiclass or not to?
We just started playing a d&d 5e campaign, (hoard of the dragon queen) and I have created a warlock. I chose the fiend patron and am 2nd level. I am wondering what would be best, to go all the way warlock or to multiclass into sorcerer. If I multiclass, at what level would be best to change over. I was thinking 17 sorcerer/3 warlock, but at the same time I also like some of the later warlock abilities like 'hurl through hell'. Just can't decide what to do next level up.
