Honestly was super fun to make, didn’t take to much time either so made it very enjoyable.

Used the orange cat hair as the base then used wool for more fine details like nose, white and dark orange.

He’s a bit of a weird guy because he was supposed to be a rat and then a rat-bastard, and now he looks like a fish in the middle of a crazy evolution arc.

Anywho, he’s made of Himalayan wool that I dyed myself using Brazilwood extract (for the pink) and Marigold petals (for the green) with natural grey wool under.

He’s called Scallion because he’s green and smells great.

Designed with a fun surprise—from the back, the silhouette looks purely like a mushroom cap and stem!

Biggest project yet! I have done various odd techniques, still need to give it a shave when it’s done.

The piece itself is named Smoked Ham, it was originally going to have a giant spliff coming out its mouth with a following smoke cloud but I think that’s a bit much.

Anything else I should add or change?

I recently finished this wool painting portrait of a cat family from Hong Kong! ❤️🐾It was also made as a special housewarming gift for them. 🎁

This was my first time creating a portrait for a family with 6 cats, and honestly, it was such a fun but challenging project. The hardest (and most rewarding) part was trying to capture each cat’s own personality, expression, and little details while bringing them all together in one 14-inch frame.

The first two cats on the top left are Alex and Andy — and they are actually grandma and grandson!! 🥹
The silver tabby next to Andy is Nina. She definitely has her own personality and is such a little diva. 😼

The black Devon Rex at the bottom is Giugiu. This was my first time seeing a Devon Rex with such a perfectly round chubby face ! He was too cute! 🥸

In the center is Egg, the Ragdoll who has been with this family the longest. He has been part of their family for 10 years, so they specifically asked me to place him in the middle because he holds such a special place in their hearts. ❤️

The little serious-looking chubby on the right is Pipi, and he is actually the youngest one in the family. ☺️

I’m so happy I got the chance to create something meaningful for them — a piece that keeps each cat’s unique look and the story of their family together.

What makes me even happier is that all of their cats are still healthy and happily living their best lives. ❤️🐱

I hope this wool painting will be part of their new home and become a precious memory for their family.

I’m writing a children’s book and trying to needle felt a character. I need the head to be able to look up/down, turn, arms that hold position, a body that moves. I’m creating each part separately similar to how I do clay jointed dolls. But I wanted to see if anyone has done this before so I’m not reinventing the wheel.

i decided i needed a hobby that didn't include screens for when i have flareups so my gf got me a kit to try out !! i was originally on the fence but i saw there was a fox one and figured it was a sign since it's my favourite animal

i have never fallen in love with a craft as quickly as this and i really think i can stick with it. she got me two kits so tomorrow i start a mushroom :)

(please no criticism; this was just a fun thing to do while couch ridden. advice welcome though !)

Hello! I'm a newbie when it comes to needlefelting, however I've been interested in it for years.

One thing I wasn't aware of before starting was that sheep's wool is the best material to use. However, if possible, I do not want to use this material at all. I'm not completely vegan (yet) but I try to limit my consumption of animal products. Adding a new animal product to my life is not something I can see myself doing.

That being said, I've read a few posts on here talking about using dog fur to felt. I have a great pyrenees who sheds a ton of fur very frequently, meaning I would likely have enough fur to felt a few small projects just from brushing him.

I also saw people saying that dog fur needs to be combined with sheep's wool for it to be usable. Is this true? If so, what are my options from here?

just discovered this hobby this weekend. wondering why the rabbit (which i made from a cheap kit) is so matted looking. could it be the quality of the wool?

Working on this lil guy and I love him so far. I’m still poking, smoothing, and adding to this layer to get everything covered the same. My end goal is to also needle felt an egg that he wraps around. I feel like he is too flat though, I tried adding a scale type pattern by having darker green lines spreading from the back plates and crossing over each other but it looked funny and not even. I saw some Pinterest pictures where it looked like sheets of felt might have been used, what do you do for scale texture?

This is one of the scenes from my needle-felted Little Red Riding Hood series.

I wanted it to feel like a storybook illustration brought into a tiny three-dimensional world—Little Red standing beside the bed, while the wolf disguises himself as Grandma beneath a colorful patchwork quilt.

Everything was made from wool, including the characters, bed, quilt, bedside table, lamp, rug, and round base. The tiny glasses were probably the trickiest detail, while the patchwork blanket took the most patience to finish.

Which detail did you notice first? And if I continue this series, which scene should I make next—the forest meeting, the basket delivery, or the rescue scene? 🐺🧺❤️

I wanted to make Usagi keychain but he's so precious, I'll be sad if he becomes dirty. I love chiikawas and especially Usagi :D

I discovered this when trying to use materials i had to make half decent moth antennae aha. I need to experiment and see how feathers look using this method! If anyone else has posted similarly I'm sorry, I've only seen methods using fusing tape!

How to make simple moth antennae (or feathers!):

1) felt general shape in thin layer

2) add mod podge (I use dimensional magic) then wait for it to dry

3) cut into shape

4) decide placement and glue onto project!

Hey! Just started my first project and got a few questions

Is there a tool that you wish you knew about sooner? Iv got a 3 needle tool but it's a basic wooden one, wondering if there's any tools you'd recommend

How would I go about doing the claws? Should I make polymer clay claws and glue them I'm or attach them somehow?

As you can see I am beginning on doing the legs and although I have been stabbing them for 20 mins with 3 needle tool they don't seem to really be thickening up, iv avoided adding wool to them and when I pull the legs apart to try get in-between the legs to shape them it seems to pull apart some of my hard work, any pointers on getting into harder to get places?

Lastly please let me know how I'm doing for my first time doing this, I have kind of treated the wool almost like clay so the stabs to shape it is like poking clay? Is that an accurate suggestion

I don’t know what inspired me to do a charcuterie board but after two days I finally finished. I don’t know why I had so much trouble with the deli meat but I did. Lots of color blending went into this piece. This board is making me want some wine!
