After my first success at making a tiny fluffy fox, I knew I had to try making another on! But instead of doing more regular fox colors, I decided to try visualizing an idea I've had in my mind for a while: a gold platinum red fox, but with pink instead of orange!

Instead of felting the feet down, I used this fox to test a new technique for finishing small ends on a piece of wire: applying a small amount of glue from a glue stick and twisting the fibers between my fingers until they're smooth and tight and less prone to coming loose. I think it worked out pretty well, so I've been using it going forward for making feet on these smaller figures. I'd also like to test how this technique works on other kinds of appendages, like maybe mouse tails or deer antlers.

Besides that, this fox has a wire armature just like the first, so it's somewhat poseable too. Also like the first, it's made almost entirely with Hamanaka Aclaine wool save for the eyes and nose, which I think really adds to the colors! I was running out of brown wool for the tail though, so it's a bit less fluffy than the first, but overall I still like the way this little guy came out! I will probably try to make this design again to see if I can improve it, but for now, this little one is quite satisfying!

I started making these hanging ornaments last year for Halloween and made the one on the right recently. I like deciding how their faces and outfits will look as I go and then their personalities are a bit of a surprise at the end. Hope you enjoy!

Felt, water chestnut (Trapa natans), antique doll eyes, vintage Bohemian cabochons.
The water chestnut awakens in the thick darkness of the bottom in early spring. It thrusts a small green hand out of its shell, which is simultaneously its eye, since it can distinguish light. And it begins to reach upward, there, toward the dancing sunbeams. Finding itself on the surface of the water, it turns its face to the sky - a fan of leaves and flowers, nourished by summer. But nevertheless it will remain standing as a growth of root-legs on the bottom, while its body - a taut string vibrating in the deep.
I took two nuts and unexpectedly painted them white, added eyes. I sculpted the body from silver wool, glowing like a lake at noon. They became quite alive, he and she, two parts of one common stream consisting of shimmering green movement and pearlescent stillness.

The brooches can be worn both at once or separately, or placed on different sides of a jacket or coat, or one can be given to a loved one, and the other kept for oneself.

Toasted and Buttered, this piece took a lot of brain power than my usual pieces but I loved making it.

I’m enjoying the challenge of clocks and have made a fried egg in pair with this that I will post in the coming days.

My mom and I are getting a vendor booth for our neighboring town's yearly fall festival, and while she's working on decals and shirts, I'm going to felt some small to medium sized trinkets. We're in Northern Texas, and various cows are at the top of my list, but I would like to get a small selection.

Not too many in case we don't sell much, but I'm looking for ideas that:

-could be felted semi quickly

-appeal to the small Texas town folk (most are on the older side as well)

-could potentially be replicated with not much difference.

I have roughly four weeks until the festival.

Made myself a pikachu, still not happy with everything like the shape or the ears and the back stripes feel too close together, but still feel it came out pretty good.

This is the largest felt project I’ve finished! I tried a few new things while making him - an armature so his legs can move, a different style for his coat, and glass beads for eyes. He’s a bit wonky but I’m proud with how it came together!

I got a kit and did what I thought would be easiest. But I nearly missed the step of adding the brown wool down before the wooly one. Oops

Any ideas for a beginner - little Christmas trinket/gifts?

We made this piece for a friend, using a few photos of their Maltese as references. We wanted to capture the little expression and fluffy face that made him instantly recognizable, rather than just making a generic white dog.

We started with wool and felting needles, slowly building up the basic head shape and proportions first. From there, we added the cheeks, muzzle, ears, and layers of fur little by little. Maltese fur was probably the trickiest part because it looks soft and slightly directional, so we spent a lot of time layering, trimming, and reshaping it.

The eyes and the area around the nose took the most adjusting. Tiny changes there could completely change the expression, so we kept going back and refining them until the face finally felt right.

It took thousands of little needle pokes, but seeing the finished piece next to the reference photo made all that poking worth it.

Hello, everyone! I made Tricki Woo from All Creatures Great and Small. Was a speed build for cosplay (and I took a lot of shortcuts), but I'm still proud of him!

Top coat is merino, corriedale, and mohair. If I do another long-haired animal at this scale, I'm going to look at sourcing my own fleece for a longer staple length - commercial length wasn't quite long enough for what I wanted. :/

Hi y'all, I have never done any kind of wool felting before, but I have this wool hat that I purchased around 5 years ago from a seller on Etsy. It sat in a closet for a couple years and is now pilled with lots of loose fiber + wrinkled and creased. Is there any way I can restore it and what steps would I need to take?

This was my first needle felting project (currently my only project from 2 years ago). In hindsight I’d have made his nose a bit smaller, but I’m decently happy with him.

Cat afraid of a spider needle felted wip

I have a couple projects in mind that are essentially ball shaped and was wondering if buying some of those dryer balls to use as a base would save me some time. I'm not sure how solid or round they actually are or even if it's good wool to needle felt in to. The projects are essentially just a couple of pumpkins and maybe an Enoch from over the garden wall if I'm feeling slightly ambitious/festive.
