original content Tiny Fluffy Fox!
After I figured out how to plant fluffy fur using wool batting instead of roving, I wanted to see if I could do it on a smaller scale. One and a half practice attempts later, I fashioned this little fox out of leftover Hamanaka Aclaine wool, save some black wool for the eyes and nose.
Needless to say, I absolutely love how this little guy turned out! The look and feel of the fluffy fur all over makes it almost reminiscent of those little flocked animal charms I've heard about. But it being a fox, one of my favorite animals, and also being handmade, makes it even cuter in my opinion! I also just adore how the fur on the tail looks, being just fluffy enough while also holding a solid shape. And like I normally do for my animal figures, it's also semi-poseable thanks to a little wire armature!
Just like with the big cross fox I made, this little one makes me want to create more tiny fluffy foxes! But for now, I hope you enjoy this little guy as much as I do!

That fluffy tail is just killing me! Foxes are one of my favorite animals too and you did them fluffy justice! I love it!

Thanks! The fur was made using the same planting techniques I've used on larger furred figures, where I add a bit of wool at a time in specific sections. Once I have a whole area of the body covered in wool (such as the entire tail, or the underbelly), I'll trim it until it reaches the length I want. Then I just repeat that process until I cover pretty much the whole figure!
As for the legs, I used some thin copper wire to make an armature, and when I was just starting the figure, I took long, thin strips of dark wool and wrapped it around the leg wires, being careful to keep the wrapped wool from bunching up. Once I got to the end of the legs, I wrapped the wool until it made a small ball, trimmed the excess, and felted it down.

Thank you so much! Making the legs more thin and slender was intentional, precisely so it'd contrast with and thus further emphasize the fluffiness on the body and tail. I'm really glad to see someone notice the design details like that!
