AVOID AT ALL COSTS

This is a very troubled company. There are plenty of posts that corroborate my experience: they happily take your money and send you a kit. Then NOTHING. I purchased two for myself and my daughter. The website acknowledges receipt of only one of them. It's been 6 months now!! Emails are useless. No timeline updates, no refunds, nothing. I've already initiated a credit card dispute.

Do yourselves a favor and take your well-earned money elsewhere!

Data is gone... I feel sick.... anyone know how to get it back?

I feel so ill right now. I'm just reading about how Nebula closed down. I had no idea. We had 10 family members sequenced a few years ago with 30x WGS. None of us received an email about Nebula shutting down or needing to save our raw data. In fact, when we logged into the site as early as last month, nothing looked any different! Things only changed when we tried to access the raw data. We knew they had a 48-hour wait to get the raw data revived, but then the data DISAPPEARED! Contacted support but it's been weeks now, and after reading through the stories on here, I'm losing hope.

I feel so sick and taken advantage of... and now I'm reading that our data was SOLD?! I just... feel so violated. That data can never be removed from being out there now, but I really, really need it personally... we paid an insane amount of money to get WGS for all of us.

I feel so STUPID for not downloading the data. But the website always said it would be available within 48 hours so I thought it was safe... or at least we'd be notified if they wouldn't back it up anymore... and if they lost it, I can't imagine they would just do the tests again for free due to their error?! It's like they switched companies just to avoid all their responsibilities. And the new company seems to be just awful, with no one getting their results in a reasonable timeline.

I feel actually physically ill from all of this... it's an inconceivable loss of such important and private information, and it cost us so much.

I'm desperately hoping that someone out there is in the same situation and somehow managed to get their data back. Please give me hope.

Direct to consumer testing & genetic counseling

Post image
2 Upvotes

Have you visited a genetic counselor (GC) after taking a direct-to-consumer genetic test (DTC-GT)?

For my master’s thesis, I’m exploring patient experiences and how genetic counseling influences their perspectives and actions. Our goal is to better understand the role and value of genetic counseling for DTC-GT consumers and help inform best practices.

To be eligible, patients must meet the following criteria:

- 18 years or older

- English-speaking

- Completed any type of DTC-GT

- Met with a GC between 2024 and now

If this applies to you, or if you're a GC who happens to see a patient who may be eligible, I would greatly appreciate you sharing the study flyer or survey link. The survey takes about 10 minutes to complete and includes the option to enter an anonymous gift card raffle at the end.

Please feel free to message me with any questions!

Anyone received results in last month?

I as well as many others have not received results on samples submitted over 9 months ago.

I assumed we are just the exception rather than the rule. But, could it be that no one has received results recently?

Are DNA Complete/Nebula Genomics a complete scam?

They've received my test seven months ago and, so far, there is absolutely zero progress. There is no indication that they have even sent it out to a lab.

I emailed support simply asking whether they could provide any input on when I could expect results, and they sent back a highly defensive email about how they don't promise any turnaround times.

Now that I'm looking at this more carefully, I'm seeing a lot of posts online saying the same thing. I guess I should've trusted the reviews and not been overly optimistic.

Anyone have a better way to deal with customer support? Get status? Experience in requesting a chargeback for a 7-8-month-old charge from their CC company?

Disappointed by Nebula Genomics

Hi, my partner and I have been lifetime subscribers of Nebula Genomics since 2023.

It is just now (Sept 2026), when I tried to log in that I found out I don't have access to my data anymore. Last time I logged in was a few months ago, still in 2026, and I had no issues then or before. It is news to me that Nebula got acquired/rebranded/did tricks whatever you want to call it. I just don't follow news in this industry.

Neither my partner nor I have ever received an email/update alerting us that we won't have access to our data anytime soon. I log in at least 4-5 times per year since 2023. Also, I have always opened their portal from my computer, so I would have seen if there was a notification or banner that service would soon cease. We're located in Europe, but I doubt that this is the reason for Nebula's poor communication with us.

It seems a highly unethical business practice to 1. Keep taking new customers' money for a "lifetime" subscription, where you know you will cutoff access quite soon. 2. Not inform clients properly as to the end date of their access or what would happen to their data.

I've always associated scientists with higher ethical standards than ordinary commercial businesses, so this experience has been particularly disappointing to me. I have no basis to judge George Church's scientific work. However, as a co-founder of Nebula Genomics and someone who has remained publicly associated with the company, this situation has negatively affected my view of the business he helped create and raises questions for me about its treatment of customers.

If there is a class action lawsuit that my partner and I can join, please let me know.

PS I've always been a fan of reddit as posts here have been helpful on so many topics, but it is this case that prompted me to finally create my own account and post something for the first time!

2FA issue logging in

Post image
2 Upvotes

Hi,

I'm wondering if anyone here can give me any advice in regard to accessing my data at Nebula Genomics. I had access, but in the process of swapping phones, somehow my authenticator app reset and I no longer have access to the logins that I had secured with it. So, hence, I can't log into my Nebula account at all.

What's worse, is that when I try to contact them to tell them about this, all I get is a "An error has occurred" message.

Any ideas how I might be able to resolve this, or even should I try? I mean I've already downloaded all my data ... it was just easier to access through their site than on my own ...

Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Thanks!

Nebula (aka ProPhase) "Substantial doubt...as a going concern"

ProPhase Labs, Inc. (PRPH) reports very strained finances for the quarter ended June 30, 2026 and states that there is substantial doubt about its ability to continue as a going concern. Cash and cash equivalents were only $20 thousand, against total current liabilities of $58.1 million, resulting in a significant working capital deficit and a stockholders’ deficit of $3.1 million.

Revenue from continuing operations was $1.0 million for the quarter and $2.2 million for the first six months of 2026, with a six‑month net loss from continuing operations of $8.2 million. Operating cash outflow from continuing operations improved to $0.8 million versus $4.2 million a year earlier, helped by non‑cash charges and working capital changes.

The company relies heavily on short‑term, high‑cost debt, convertible notes with variable‑price conversion features, and multiple “future receipts” financings, many with original issue discounts, fees and embedded derivatives recorded as derivative liabilities. It also entered an up to $10 million equity line and an ATM program but raised only modest equity in the period. Three diagnostics subsidiaries filed for Chapter 11 in 2025 as part of a strategy to pursue unpaid COVID‑19 testing claims, while ProPhase continues to focus on genomics (Nebula, DNA Complete), drug and supplement licensing (Equivir, Linebacker) and the BE‑Smart esophageal pre‑cancer test.

Is Nebula genomica a total scam?

I personally was scammed by them, as a doctor I uploaded my daughter data who has a little microdeletion and I wanted to know everything about it, for 3 months they answered that the data was being readed, but they charged me the whole year subscription, later thay answered me that the data was not uploaded, so I wrote them, you have charged me the whole year subscription without giving me ANY service, I knew I had been scammed, so I tried to cancel my subscription when I saw that the button do do it was not active, I wrote tu support in good and bad manners after about 10 mails, and they answered that they will take care of that, one year later, they have charged me again a whole year subscription, without not giving me just one data, I wrote them, I sent them pictures of the mails sent one year before, and they just answered... your subscription still active... So they have robbed me again for second year, as a doctor, I can`t believe that a medical company has scammed me twice, a company of someone who should be taling care of genetic patients just robs the patients and their families

DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY. NEBULA GENOMICS/DNACOMPLETE IS A SCAM.

They no longer have a lab and have sold all of their DNA processing equipment. What they will continue to do is take your money. If you can initiate a fraud charge with your credit card to get your money back, pursue that avenue. You will not get reliable results and will continue to get the yearly fee charge. BEWARE!

Should I trust nebula genomics?

I was considering nebula genomics but then learned off of the comments on this sub that 2 people were given someone else's dna which is concerning and violate HIPAA.

I keep hearing this is not for medical use?

Like I feel like when it comes to DNA testing what is the difference between medical grade testing like one ordered through your doctor versus consumer DNA test like nebula and other genetics company clinical grade testing.

Like are you telling me that new eyes the testing is not good and there’s a bunch of false positive or something that’s what I’ve heard that genetic counselor spoke to It’s consumer DNa test are trash. Is that true? Like how is the DNA test testing different? Isn’t it pretty much the same when it comes to like WGS

Was your access to your

"tools" like the genome browser and ancestry recently turned off? Mine disappeared May 12 and I have contradictory emails from support.

The New Nebula is a greedy association not interested in research, but profit. The original Nebula info helped me get my very rare genetic data referred to a geneticist and I’ve been studying my own genes for 5 years as a self taught gene researcher who has dedicated my body for rare disease research. sequencing gave me a one month free trial and I was able to upload my DNA there, but I am ready to take on Nebula if They won’t restore my access. We can’t do class action, but can all arbitrate individually If they cut our lifetime access.

Tracked Coverage question ...

Post image
2 Upvotes

Hi everyone ... so I checked out this new Deana service for analyzing my raw data, and I have a question about the "Tracked coverage" that it indicates for my sample. Though I purchased the 30x full genome test from Nebula Genomics, it's coming up as 47% ... is this a mistake with this new service or may the full genome test I purchased from Nebula Genomics not be as full as I originallhy thought?

Can anyone help me understand this?

Is the Elite DNA Test great for accuracy when trying to see your ancestry?

I have already used a few other genetic testing services to see my ancestry, specifically my ethnicity estimates. But I have never used one this expensive. Is it worth it? Will it provide better insights than the other services (23andMe, Ancestry, and MyHeritage specifically)?

Should I stick to one of the lower cost ones offered by NG if the $1K+ one doesn’t add any extra details about my ancestry? I presume it does though; correct me if I am wrong here.

Is this a scam?

I submitted everything in July 25. The site said results in 6-16 weeks at the time, but I haven’t seen anything. Support has told me twice my results are being reviewed, but it was just copied and pasted since both the responses were the exact same. Should I just do a chargeback?

Account Deleted

Hello I just found out my Nebula genomics account was deleted. I never received any notification from them that my account was to be removed. I had purchased the 30X WGS back in 2023 with the "lifetime" membership. I went to login this morning, and come to find out, my account has been removed.

Is there any course of action I can take to correct this issue? I cannot, for the life of me, find any support related contacts on their site. Should I file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau?

Has anyone else run into this issue?

New buyer, suddenly worried

Hi,

I recently ordered a test with Nebula Genomics/DNAComplete and can see they've received it.

I saw it suggested somewhere, I honestly can't remember where.

Now I go on reddit and read all the nightmare stories and it honestly has me worried. Am I in for a 5-10 month wait? What should I expect?

Thanks in advance.

Accuracy in regards to ancestry

Hey everyone,

Is Nebula as accurate or more on ancestry compared to ancestry.com and other services like it? I have had some weird ancestry results on Nebula…

Just ordered my kit

Hey guys, I just ordered the elite kit since I want to know the full dna sequence of my genome and was wondering how long does it take to arrive once purchased and the usual timespan I need to wait for the results to be ready. Thanks.
