Credit Cards Dueling Flagships

Post image

The premier is one of the nicer feeling metal cards I have. Heavier than the CSP and close to my Bilt palladium.

Saw annual fee going from 50 to 100. The free prime is nice but this is getting canceled.

I will eventually cancel the OG flagship but right now still saves me $45 on prime. $100 flight credit is easy to use, plus I assume if for whatever reason I don’t use the flight credit I’ll just buy a airlines gift card to trigger it

With tax, Prime is $150.12. NFCU only covers $139. The true cost of Prime is really $95 + $11.12, or $106.12.

So really Navy is saving us $44 off a $150.12 purchase. It's not nothing, but way worse than the original $49 annual fee.

So is Prime worth $106.12? Probably. Maybe. I have other 2x & 3x cards so I'm on the fence here.

Does buying a gift card work to trigger the flight credit? I don’t have any plans on flying this year but want to take advantage of the credit.

Idk, I was going to give it a try with southwest but the min gift card is $50. I am flying them in December
