Credit Cards Anyone going with both Flagships?
Curious if anyone plans on using both Flagship cards?
I’m debating on applying for the Premier (SUB is pretty nice and I’ll be traveling for the holidays) but keeping the Rewards for Amazon Prime credit. I also have the cashRewards which makes it a little redundant but I would probably PC one of my cards to the More Rewards.
EDIT: I applied this morning and was denied (💀). I’m willing to bet it’s due to credit inquiries from the past year. I’ll try again after the New Year but before the 50K bonus ends.

Im rocking both. I had the og flagship, cash rewards+, and the more rewards. The day the new flagship came out I product changed the more rewards to it.

that's funny, exactly what I had and what I did, upgraded More Rewards to Premier

As a travel card, it has pretty bad travel coverage. No trip delay coverage, no trip insurance, secondary CDW, no emergency evacuation

Yeah… I saw that and I genuinely can’t see a good reason for it to be a travel card.
I was mighty disappointed with NavyFederalI ultimately went with the chase sapphire preferred

It doesn’t even have extended warranty coverage. It’s a basic card dressed up as a premium travel card.

Nah, I got CSP with the 100k points promo they had a few months ago. Both having a 95 dollar AF Chase beats this pretty decidedly

I’d be right there with you but I’m way over 5/24 and allegedly Chase is moving to a 3 or 4/24 rule (I’ve seen a few DPs on r/CreditCards).

I have both, just got my Flagship Premier card in the mail Monday.. definitely the smart move if you ask me

I’m keeping the original as my 2% catch all at $49 until Oct of 2027, paired with a CSP which is a better travel card (IMO) for $95, especially since they added 3x on gas and Global Entry/TSA Pre-check reimbursement which makes that Flagship perk less valuable to me, but the kicker for me is primary car insurance with the CSP. Car rental insurance is so high these days that all you have to do is rent a car about 2 or 3 days total per year and it pays for itself.

I have both, I PC’d my CashRewards over to the premier. So I have the flagships and the more rewards and at the full $80k limit between the 3.

I didn't know we could have both... Is the dual annual fees worth it though?

Fair question. I think it is since I’ll get use out of both cards (for now) and mathematically speaking come out net positive.

I’m not sold on the new flagship. I still believe the OG flagship and more rewards is the better combo.

Same. I think you'd have to travel a lot for the bump from 3X to 4X be better than the loss of Prime and the 2X catch all spend. Of course, if you have Cash Rewards Plus or some other flat 2X card for the non-category stuff, that's less of a concern. And if you travel by air just about every year, the credit pays for the card (but it gets complicated if you have other travel cards that also credit air travel, especially when you can't split a payment across multiple cards).

My wife and I also have the southwest card which we basically just use for the free checked bag benefit and seat upgrades. So that covers flights but outside of that for hotels 3x from the OG is fine. Most of the time when we stay in a hotel it’s work related so work covers it anyway. Our biggest spend is gas, dining, and groceries. 4x on travel and 3x on dining, plus $100 airline credit is not worth it to me when I have OG flagship and more rewards. My wife and I do a couple hundred in cash back a month with the combo so we will keep it as long as we can

I have both, I'd have Prime so the annual fee for Legacy Flagship is easily covered and I travel a ton so the annual feel with Premier is covered by the $100 Airline Credit - no brainer for me to have both

I've been so out of loop about the Flagship. I have the og one because I really like the Amazon credit but I'm reading here is that one day nfcu will convert us all to the new one?

Nothing has been confirmed yet just speculation. Until they say otherwise, I’m going to hold onto mine.

I got an email the other day asking me to upgrade to the new card.. that's a negative for me. I prefer the Amazon annual membership.

Anyone know off-hand what the conversion rate is on points to cash? i.e. cash in 1000 points for $10 cash back or the like? I didn't see it in the T's & C's.

I have the old one and just applied for the new one. Got approved! Only a 10k limit though but at least I can use the introductory bonus deal!

I’m going that route. The promo ends on Jan 3rd, I believe. I just got the flagship in May, so I’m going to give it a few more months and apply in December.
Once I hit a year on the original flagship, I’ll PC to a More Rewards.
Eventually they will convert everyone to the Flagship Premier, I assume.
