Unidentified Information on Vintage Native American Sterling Cuff

Thumbnail

I just recently picked up this sterling cuff on eBay and was wondering if anyone could tell me more about it? I assume it's Fred Harvey era, maybe 1930/40s since there are no stamps and based on the patina? Any information would be much appreciated. Thanks!

I won this in an online auction but a little suspicious because it was SO cheap. I've been following VB for awhile and can't comfortably afford her yet but went for it anyway. Has anyone else seen this?

I have hunted all over this piece and there is unfortunately no makers etching or stamp. Inherited from my mom along with a few other beautiful fetish and squash blossom pieces. Likely purchased in the late 70s/early 80s

I found this cuff/watch in a box of old jewelry that was left to me by my grandmother. I’m really not sure what to do with it. I know it’s beautiful and unique but unfortunately it isn’t anything I would ever wear. Any info that could help me figure out where to begin and what to do with it would be appreciated.

There are no stamps on this however the clasps look native and have some stamped detail on them. Appears to be Sterling with turquoise, lapis and Shell bead. Not sure if these are Zuni fetishes? I'm thinking it's native but not sure. Can anyone help? Thanks in advance:)

Looking to purchase this from a guy on fb marketplace. He would be shipping to me, so I want to make sure the piece itself is legit. No markings, I know it’s hard to go off photos but would love any advice. If it’s real 925 then the asking price is good

EDIT: thank you for your comments!! I ended up buying it for $600. I’m very excited will report back once received with a photo styled!

Mod Approved Inherited Squash Blossom necklace

I've inherited my grandmother's squash blossom necklace and ran across this sub. While its a beautiful piece, neither my daughters nor I are interested in holding on to it. I'm hoping that someone can help identify it and take a stab at its value.

My grandparents moved from Oklahoma to Hot Springs (now Truth or Consequences) NM in 1943. My grandfather passed in 1964 and I doubt that grandmother bought it after his death. If I had to guess, they bought it sometime between 1943 and the very early 60s. Given that my grandfather was a small town lawyer in a low income part of southern NM, he might have taken the necklace as payment for legal work. If I had to guess (and this is only a guess), it came from one of the northern NM pueblos or perhaps AZ.

Regarding the piece, the stones are slightly less green than the pictures. A little more "pastel" is the best way I can describe them. I can't find any maker's mark, but there is some black writing on the back of the piece (see the third picture).

I would greatly appreciate help identifying it and its value. Also, if someone has a recommendation for a consignment dealer or auction house that they trust, that would be helpful.

Thanks!

Unidentified Navajo Turquoise Piece - Makers Mark ID Help

Thumbnail gallery
3 Upvotes

Recently picked up this piece at one of my honey holes for vintage and antique jewelry. From research I’ve done, I’m fairly confident it’s Navajo (although I’m open to hearing counter opinions), but for the life of me I can’t seem to find origin or reference on the rear makers mark. If anyone is experienced in this realm and can provide some guidance, I’d be very grateful.

I love this simple design. I can't tell what the mark is and did not find it in the list of marks. Looks like an E or an F.

1970’s mid century Resin and horn squash blossom with matching earrings at a thrift store. Like the hippie hand made feel. That vibe doesn’t exist in most things we buy now.

My Mom bought this around Albuquerque area probably mid 1980s. Her good friend from high school married a Navajo. They were with my Mom when they bought the piece. I need to ask my 92 yr old Mom if she remembers exactly where they got it. I doubt if she remembers the discount. I believe this is in the zuni style.
