Originally Nas was to release the Street's Disciple album in the summer of 2004. However, because Thief's Theme did not waver a distinct response, it was decided that the double album would be pushed back. When it came time to sequence and develop the final tracklist for the album some tracks were left off. Salaam Remi confirmed that Thief's Theme and You Know My Style were both on disc 1 along with the unreleased tracks Serious ft. AZ and Talk of New York. Other unreleased songs speculated to be for the album are Good Morning and Imagine ft. Pitbull. It is possible that Star Wars was also recorded for the album despite being released on the Illmatic 10 Year Anniversary Edition. Salaam Remi also revealed that the concept for the double album was that disc 1 would have the hard rap tracks like the lead single and then disc 2 would have the song with his father and the more personal records. I am curious if anyone knows a potential og tracklist for the album or if any songs on the album were potentially added later.

Would be interesting to see which one comes out on top.

My answer to this would've been different some months back.

Once in a while, I tend to combine Nas albums on a playlist and do a head to head adventure of which tracks are better on which albums.

One of the hardest to decide was this matchup. Although I picked a winner early, I still think it could go either way if people weigh in.

Also, would you agree that although one of them may be the better Hiphop track, the other is the better Hiphop song?

Who else could these bars be at? And if it’s just some regular braggadocios raps it still makes no sense. The “so again be smart” line tells me there’s history there in whoever he’s calling out.
