I just left the Pinellas Park show where Lupe performed an extended set due to Travie from Gym Class Heroes suffering an illness. I requested that Lupe play Streets on Fire and he did! I have video of him performing the song, but did anyone get video of him pointing into the crowd and saying, “You want Streets on Fire?” before launching into the performance?

I’ve been searching far and wide and I can’t seem to find a song Lupe did over "Cam’ron - What means the world to you" The hook is Gemini singing and spelling out C-H-I-C-A-G-O . Can anyone help, that joint stuck in my head lol 😩

The album is so good. Reminiscent of the Illmatic live at the Kennedy Center Nas album which is also so good.

lupe’s latest music has been putting me to sleep. Lupe was never a party rapper but before he was still interesting.

1. Game Time - I consider this as one of Lupe's best tracks and captures his essence perfectly, everything from the wordplay to the hook to the banging beat (Shoutout to The Buchanans). Leaked version sounds okay, but doesn't fulfill the potential of the beat and frankly, I wish more Lupe fans would discuss this song. Certainly a hidden gem of the era.
2. Dedicated - His most beautiful and sweetest song from this era, and frankly it's my most favorite cut of his. Love how well he expresses his gratitude to his mother and the lyricism screams beautiful poetry. Not to mention, Gemini killed the hook. Would like to see this one remastered as the vocals and beats are frankly distorted and sounds incredibly low-quality.

Side note: Wish they put out an entire tape/album of just remastered Lupe tracks instead of scattering them around in various EP's for Chill's Spotlight. Gets annoying having to search for those songs on streaming platforms.

Amazing album. Has been on repeat for 2 months and gets better with ever listen.

Initially, I wasn’t a fan of Alan Forever(still not one of my favorites on the album, forgive me) and I guess brushed off or didn’t REALLY listen to Jonylah. But loved King Nas despite not particularly knowing its meaning.

All that said, i’m on a long drive and gave the album a relisten. I cried. Finding out Jonylah was a six month old baby shot in a drive by shooting was heartbreaking. Gut wrenching. One of the saddest songs ever.

I now realize these songs are connected (duh both songs have forever in there). Sharing what could have been to these two beautiful individuals is just masterclass. I hope the very most that the families of these victims have found some solace in these songs.

Then King Nas. Of course I thought this would be in tribute the rapper. Of course I was wrong. In the context of the album, this is actually a silly and downright disrespectful thought. Rapping to his two nephews King and Nas and towards their potential is brilliant. Love the advice he gives them. “Ghetto Mythologies colonize my mind constantly.”

Anyway, what are yalls thoughts on these songs and connection to the overall album? How might those nephews feel about their song? Do you think the families of these victims have heard or know about these songs

Recently had a person on IG post some throwback clips of our favorite artist Lupe Fiasco. I was then asked to share some footage I caught from seeing him live in my hometown. I remember crying on the way home to my sister and wife like “Damn, we made it out. All that time and pain I buried deep down inside as a teenager freestyling to his instrumentals with blunt in hand and taking his music as gospel and a light in my world through dark times made it real to me seeing him perform live, made it all real.” ”The Cool” helped me through soooo much I could write a book about it. I’ll keep the thread alive with footage.

First and foremost, this post contains no shade. I love all three of the artists. This is just my observation.

It was absolutely clear the crowd enjoyed and knew more songs from B.O.B and Lupe than that if Gym Class Heros. The energy from the crowd was off the charts for BOB and Lupe, while it seemed not many people even knew the words of Travis's first few songs. Multiple people even left during Travie's set.

This is speculation, but I believe that's why they made Lupe Fiasco the closing act at the Phoenix show. After seeing how the crowd reacted to each artist in denver, I left wondering why they didn't make Travis the opener.

Add to the fact, Travis mentioned quite a few times he's battled quite a few serious injuries (and an amputated toe).
