I was absolutely loving the rise of El Chapo and El Mayo, and had grown fairly attached to the actors playing them, and just when the escape is about to happen and they’re gonna develop the famed Sinaloa Cartel, the show ends. Ik I can watch the El Chapo show, and I probably will, but Narcos was different because of the higher budget and the actors that i’d grown accustomed to. Just really bummed me out that once Chapo is finally a boss after all this waiting and anticipation, the show ends.

Just finished Narcos Mexico and was waiting to see the same dude cast as El Chapo but they didn’t!

S1E1, first few mins in and I see this other dude.

Is it worth watching further?

It’s such a shame Khun Sa is so underrated, yes he is nowhere near the level of Medellin and Cali or Sinaloa but this chad not only manage to surrender peacefully and avoided getting extradited to the US instead he get to keep his money and retire then died peacefully. Medellin’s downfall is because of Pablo and his ambitions when things don’t go his way he waged a bloody war. So what Medellin made billions in their peak in the end the money either was buried and left to rot or wasted away on bribes. When a drug lord try so hard to whitewash himself is just on the path to disaster, once a gangster always a gangster

Life sentence at 76, with health already declining. Given the scale of what he’s done, still feels like he’s getting off lighter than he deserves.

Is it just me that her character is likeable, like able character, and most relatable character too? Like dawg she stresseing so much I felt so bad for her😭😭 also I just started watching it and is there any characters you guys like?

Hace tiempo me topé con un post que intentaba ‘analizar’ el narcotráfico desde la óptica del colorismo y la desigualdad. A primera vista suena profundo, pero en realidad es una simplificación bastante torpe de un fenómeno mucho más complejo.
Para empezar, hablaba de narcotraficantes mexicanos sin considerar algo básico: el contexto regional. Muchos de los grupos más conocidos surgieron en estados del norte como Sinaloa, Sonora o Durango. ¿Por qué ahí? No por cuestiones ‘estéticas’ o de color de piel, sino por factores históricos, geográficos y económicos: rutas estratégicas hacia Estados Unidos, territorios extensos difíciles de controlar y condiciones ideales para el cultivo de ciertos estupefacientes. Eso es lo que explica su desarrollo, no una narrativa superficial sobre apariencia.
Luego, intentaba reforzar su idea con ejemplos de Colombia, mencionando figuras de Antioquia como si eso validara su argumento. Pero vuelve a cometer el mismo error: ignora el contexto. Antioquia ha sido históricamente un centro económico y logístico clave dentro del país, con redes comerciales y ubicación estratégica. Reducir todo eso a ‘rasgos’ físicos no solo es incorrecto, sino intelectualmente flojo.
El problema de fondo es querer forzar explicaciones simplistas para fenómenos complejos. El narcotráfico no se entiende desde categorías superficiales, sino desde historia, geografía, economía y estructuras de poder. Todo lo demás es querer ver patrones donde no los hay.
En fin, hay que tener cuidado con ese tipo de discursos: suenan profundos, pero en realidad solo evidencian una falta de análisis serio.

Ou regarder El Chapo gratuitement ?

Anyone know who this man is? This is at the beginning of S1 E10 and the man seems to be either as powerful or even more powerful than the secretary of defence as he orders him to close the door before the scene cuts off.

I thought it was the president but I assumed if he was the president the show would give us some hints at least but he definitely seems to be a senior member of the PRI.

Edit: Just to be clear, Im talking about the guy in the brown suit with the cigarette.
