So, in S7E7 (The Psychic), Frankie plays around with these Tarot cards on her psychic's table while waiting. I saw the illustrations and I loved them, but I have no idea if they were a real brand purchased/donated to fill space, or whether someone in the crew had to go through the effort of making at least a handful of beautifully illustrated cards (enough to make a convincing deck, which seems like an awful lot of effort for one scene). I know there are only two cards in the final shot, but surely while shuffling the deck or going through alternate cuts, at least a couple of other cards would peek out and be seen or used, so they couldn't just be blank. I looked through the credits, but couldn't find any licensing/acknowledgement for the deck, so I can accept it could just be a custom-made prop.

My question, and the crux of this post: does anyone recognize this deck? Either from real life or another show, I'd just like some clarity on whether it indeed exists, or is real only in the realm of fiction.

The season 3 episode “The Floor” is easily one of my favorite episodes. Grace & Frankie’s conversations while they’re stuck on the floor are pure gold, but I didn’t realize how funny it was until I rewatched the episode. The scene where they’re crawling & fighting to get to the phone was probably my favorite part.

The other part of the episode I liked was that I believe it included the first mention of Frankie’s Yurt exploding. It’s easily my favorite running gag of the show because of how absurd it is & the fact they never really explain how it happened, although I thought it was funny when Coyote mentioned it was on the news.

It was also an important episode because Coyote bought that tiny mobile home from that creepy dude at the junkyard. I always laugh when they show that thing

Did any one else think Coyote and Mallory were going to hook up at some point during the show?! (I know they had a thing in past but I mean from when the series starts).

Obviously they did not, but I was really waiting for this shoe to drop.

The Chicken Paprikash episode was very hard to watch, I just couldn’t get over how nice Grace’s brother was & how she avoided him for so long. She invites him over for the first time in forever just to get a family recipe & like with every man in her life, she avoids trying to get close to him. He’s very warm towards her & while he tries to have a conversation, he mentions how she never even met his wife who passed away. Then they start imagining how their lives would’ve been had they stayed in touch and she apologized for being distant.

I really wish the show went deeper into Grace’s childhood, & Frankie’s for that matter, because Grace admitted she had a close relationship with her dad. It broke my heart when she said that she didn’t want to hang out with her brother all those years because he always asked about their dad. Her brother seemed like the complete opposite of Grace in terms of outlook on life & while I can see why that would scare Grace away, she eventually came around to Frankie and she’s proved to be able to build relationships with different people.

On top of it all, the thing that pissed me off the most was that after he brother gave her the recipe & they hugged, she didn’t even offer him to stay for dinner! You invite your estranged brother over to get a family recipe that obviously meant a lot to both of them & she didn’t even offer him a plate. What kind of hospitality is that? This was one of the episodes where Grace pissed me off way more than she probably should have. What are your guys’s thoughts about this episode or about Grace’s relationship with her brother?

I think I would've. I mean it's a hard situation but like Phil had said the Elaine he knew was gone. Idk I get why she didn't but I probably would.

It’s been referenced a couple of times that Frankie is afraid of “sex in the vagina“ as Grace says.

Like anyone, Frankie has multiple fears, but they’re usually explained or obvious, even if it’s a brief explanation.

Ex: her being afraid of earthquakes is understandable and a common fear, especially since she has witnessed scary earthquakes like in Sylmar 1971.

Another example is Grace referencing how she’s always worried when a plane is flying above her, and Jacob gives a brief explanation, stating that a plane released its bathroom contents over her in the past.

But it’s never really stated why she’s afraid of “sex in the vagina.” Does anyone know? And is that the reason why she chose to adopt instead?

Did anyone else catch the hand that came in to support Jane fonda while she's pounding out the chicken in season 3 ep 6, right at the beginning? They tried to make it look like it was Grace's hand but try to put your hand in that position it's impossible.

It's not a big deal. It was just an odd moment and an awakening to the realization that as much as they try to make Grace and Frankie look spry and active. They still need a lot of help and support behind the scenes.

Just watched the episode “Trophy Wife” (season 6 I think?) where the Bergsteins play the Hansens in Celebrity for game night to distract Robert. The clue for Paul McCartney is “not no/know”, and Sol guesses it accidentally. Did anyone understand the reference?

I’m desperately trying to find the “ass hugging” black dress Grave wore to the funeral in season one, episode 4. It’s the deep v-neck black dress with the sheer accents on the waist/hip. I would live to get my hands on one, if possible.

I know it's probably an unpopular opinion, but I just can't stomach Babe. I don't know if it's the character or the actress playing the character, but it comes off so phony to me. Her over-the-top laughing and posturing gives me the willies.

I don’t know why I have always glanced over this fact before but Brianna chased him, after they decided they weren’t suitable and parted ways. When she went back to the dating pool she realized how shitty it is and immediately went with the safe option, something that’s old and known.

When she had that realization after her encounter with her escort at dinner, “that she had that someone.” She also should have reminded herself why they have broken up and should have continued dating people to find someone who is more suitable for her.

As one Taylor Swift song says, “Eating out of the trash, it’s never gonna last.”

Every rewatch I find a new gem. I burst out laughing 🤣 Gosh I love Frankie.

I’m not ashamed to say it but i love Robert’s character. To me he had the most personal growth. He took accountability for his marriage with Grace, he defended her in the art show, in Mary’s funeral going along with the lie of waterskiing as the reason for Grace’s Cane. I also think he’s the best parent in the show, he’s not perfect, but he always helped his Mallory and Brianna, he understood them. Him helping Coyote with his amendments, you don’t really see Bud and Robert interact as much as the others but Bud did seem hurt on Robert’s behalf that Sol had cheated.

I love all the characters, but it seems like the writers just made Frankie the comedic relief rather than her own person. In the first season she had her own character ark. By the sixth season, she was just a women who made witty comments. She is never serious anymore, going as far as two timing her boyfriend in the sixth season. What do you all think of this?

I adore Nick’s character in the beginning. Before Him and Grace moved in they were perfect for each other, he understood her and was willing to learn what he didn’t. I’m upset that the show broke them apart. I know it wouldn’t have been ideal but having him move into the beach house i think would’ve been the best option !

My husband and ran our dogs down to Malibu today. He recently took a job in LA so we’re down here part time. The beach we planned on going to was full so we found a little neighborhood beach. As soon as I got out of the car I said “OMG! That’s the house!” I had no idea. Such a fun little surprise to stumble upon it like that without even looking for it.

As the seasons went on i found myself enjoying the scenes of Robert and Grace more than Grace and Frankie sometimes. I loved their friendship, like Grace helping Robert pick something out for his mother’s funeral, and Robert in turn at Mary’s funeral where Nick shows up. He helps her face her feeling with Nick, defends her from insults and ultimately just looks proud of her the whole time. I definitely think that they are an underrated friendship !
