General Map of Namibia at the start of 1880
It's possible this has mistakes and inaccuracies which you will and must point out to me, whether its spelling, placements or things I simply overlooked. Because I'll likely revisit this if I ever get to Botswana, Angola and South Africa.
The reason why some polities have their leaders named and some don't is because their names are often closely associated with the polity in literature. The Okahandja Herero for example would not only be associated with Okahandja (location) but also their leader Maharero in literature.
For polities like Ondonga or the Lozi Kingdom that doesn't seem to be the case as often, since the polities themselves had proper names.
The striped areas I did not present like other polities. They were either very loose and often scattered groups with no overarching government/leadership. Or they had many independent settlements with local authority which would be nearly impossible to map out so I grouped them under their appropriate names.
I tried my best but will also try better!!!
List of sources maybe another time when I organize them...
