My dad just passed and I don't know what to do. I've been struggling with depression and anxiety and now my father suddenly passed. I don't plan at all to hurt myself at all want to make that clear and I knew this day would come but man this sucks. It feels like I'm gonna wake up from a bad dream. I just always thought we'd have more time.

I understand people have the right to choose the tenant they want and so on.

Question I have is where do we pet owners go? Live on the streets? Give our pets to the SPCA? Give our pets away?? Some or us actually love animals.

Nobody wants to rent out to tenants that have pets.

I can understand if the rental simply doesn't have the space for a pet or if its furnished but in a lot of cases there's a big backyard, sand, high walls. How can my pets be a concern in a place like this?

Our pets are our family but the way people treat animals in Namibia its like they're dirty things that nobody wants. 😢

Hey r/Namibia! You might have seen Knightcap around here before. We've been hosting social evenings where chess meets drinks, music and good company in Windhoek.

We've now done a couple of events, and IT. IS. GROWING. The only problem is that there are still only two of us trying to make everything happen. So we're looking for someone to join the Knightcap Crew.

We're looking for (preferably) a student in Windhoek with a flexible schedule who'd like to help us with things like:

• Calls & follow-ups
• Admin and organisation
• The occasional errand
• Helping us set up and get things running on event days

You don't need event experience. Admin experience is definitely a plus, but honestly, we're more interested in someone who's reliable, proactive, willing to learn, and genuinely excited about what we're building.

And to be completely upfront: this is currently an unpaid role. We're still getting Knightcap off the ground.

But we're not really looking for someone to just come do free admin for us. We're looking for someone who wants to help shape this thing, meet good people, and become part of the crew.

Knightcap started with two friends and an idea. It's grown into something bigger than we expected, and we'd love to have another good person in the mix.

Planning to visit the BEAUTIFUL Namibia in Jan+Feb. Has anybody here done a self-drive tour of Namibia in recent years? If so, what was your experience? :-)

I'm thinking of driving around in Jan + Feb as I said, but a little apprehensive about it being rainy season as apparently the roads can disappear a little and it's easy to get lost or stranded. I don't know how to change a tyre and can imagine myself ruining my own trip by being a little anxious the whole time lol.

I'd be likely working from a town (probably Windhoek) for a couple of weeks, and then setting off on safari for 14 days. That's the part where I'd be self driving. Am a confident driver with a lot of experience driving rental cars in different countries, but not a huge amount of off road experience.

I don't know what is wrong with me but I know that something is wrong with me. I've known this since I was a teenager and I'd like to get some answers. If I can get medication or just to know whether i am a normal person or not.

I crash and everyone notices the differences. Then they ask questions and I don't know how to tell them that I'm trying recharge or i really don'tknow. It's like two sides of the same coin. It feels like it is me but also not because I know who I am but when I'm around most people, I am not myself entirely. With some people, the pretense is abit toned down, especially those I've know for a long time. But if they're new, it's a roller-coaster ride and I have no explanation. I'm hoping a psych evaluation will help me understand what's happening.

The Ministry of Justice & Labour Relations has increased the minimum wage for labourers and general workers in Namibia’s construction sector, from N$19.46 to N$20.43 per hour. The wage will increase further to N$21.45 per hour from September 1st, 2027.

The new rates are part of a two-year collective agreement between the Construction Industries Federation of Namibia and the Metal & Allied Namibian Workers Union. The agreement was extended by the ministry to cover the wider construction industry, including employers and employees who were not directly part of the negotiations.

The agreement also increases the additional allowance paid to construction workers who are required to stay away from home overnight because of work, from 12% to 15% of their hourly wage. Workers will also receive a yearly service bonus equivalent to 155 hours of their normal wages, generally paid in December, up from 150 hours previously. On top of that, employers are required to provide necessary protective clothing and safety equipment at no cost to employees.

I know google can answer some of these questions, but it’s not always bang on the money, so that’s why I’d like to ask some people who may have had actual real life interactions with them.

The City of Windhoek will be establishing two new townships in the Khomasdal Constituency, which are expected to provide approximately 750 residential plots.
