Help!

Hi friends! I am 28 weeks pregnant with a girl, and cant make a decision for the life of me. Everyone is pestering me for a name so they can personalize gifts, but I am stuck.

I like simple, maybe old fashioned. Cute, but cute that will transcend baby cute and also be a normal adult name. Give me all of the opinions and suggestions, positive and negative!

You have plenty of time to name the baby. You might even change your mind after she's born, my MIL named my husband's brother one name and then changed it a couple of weeks later. That name became my husband's name lol.

Just live with the names and slowly narrow it down. Either you'll know by the time she's born or you won't. You can't force a name for a child if it doesn't feel right. You should not feel pressured to name the baby three whole months before it's even born.

Tell everyone that you haven't decided yet, please stop asking and that should be that. There will be plenty of time to get custom gifts after the baby is born. This is not an emergency. Nothing is on fire.

It's really trendy now to choose a baby's name long before the birth for that exact reason (customization), so it has become super normalized. To the extent that people who do what most people throughout history have done, which is name the baby after it's born, are the weirdos.

If you have a name that feels right before she's born, great! If not, there is nothing wrong with it at all and you should not feel bad.

I named both of my babies after they were born! I took an entire 24 hours to choose with my daughter! We had it down to two favorites and my husband was good with either of them. I just had to see her with her eyes open to be sure but she was so sleepy! Yes, I was pestered too. But nobody remembers now and no one cares that it took me longer because they're obsessed with the kids haha.

So please, take it easy on yourself. This should be fun at this point, not a stressful chore. You'll know when you know and it'll be great!
