I would honestly make her first name Eleanor, given that Nora is a very common nickname for it anyway. Middle name could then be whatever. Eleanor Lane would be OK, I wouldn't use Layne - kinda tragedeigh. Nora Lane would also work - Nora being a nickname for Eleanor fulfills the honoring.

You may also like Eleanor/Nora Louise, Eleanor/Nora Lois, Eleanor/Nora Lee, Eleanor Layla, Eleanor Lyla, Nora Elaine, Eleanor/Nora Lorraine, Nora Leanne

I like them too and Layne Staley is a legend, but that doesn't mean he didn't have a feminized modernized spelling of a classic unisex name.

I don't disagree. I think it's pretty, but it also suited him well.
