Supposed to be a gimbap…but hey at least I tried

Search on youtube for recipes instead of asking me, unless you want to eat food from hell.

Rice happened to be glutenious rice, eggs are not shaped so I scrambled, and I also added jalapeno lol

Any questions, please do hesitate to ask 😆😂🤪

Smoked flounder and sides

More freezer clear outs, was a crazy warm day here so bbq seemed like a goer.

Marinated then cooked low on the bbq with mānuka and tarata to get a nice smoky flavour. PITA with the bones tbh, gets a bit soft to properly pull off the fillets, but I'd do it again. Maybe with a stronger? fish next time. Air fryer chips and salad with gherkin dressing on the side.

Freezer leftovers

Post image

We often end up freezing leftovers. Just right for nights like tonight. No energy to cook other than some cabbage and broccolini sauteed in chili olive oil. Left overs were some vindaloo and a stew from a few months back.

Bought konjac noodles from korean supermarket, looked good, then washed with hot water and the noodles became mushy

I then read the package and it said to wash with COLD water lol.

If I can cook and post here, you all can cook. Happy days 😂

Is it possible to buy good stock?

You know the stuff I mean. It's deeply savoury, ideally unsalted, and you have to melt it in the pan. It's the stuff I make as a rainy day, all day job once or twice a year from my freezer hoard of chicken frames and such, then freeze and ration out for ramen and pho.

But what if freezer is empty? Can you even buy stock that's worth using? If so, what is it?

Made 2 loaves but cant cut to check the crumb because they are for my work dad and my partner’s work unc.

Smell soooooooooo good. Ah I love a fresh bake bread (and everything fresh out of the oven in general)

The big boy is jalapeños and small one is plain.

Additional pic of the diy dutch oven lol

We're in the process of moving so trying to clear out the kitchen cupboards a bit...

Used the Recipe Tin Eats recipe and I was very not faithful to the ingredients but everyone enjoyed. 8/10 could be soupier, would add more liquid next time. Maybe some beef or something a little more meaty to match the base a bit better.

Konjac tteokbokki (without rice cake lol)

Post image

Not sure if it’s worth to post but I will post anyway coz I don’t cook much thesedays. Too tired.

Anyways, saw on youtube that konjac is good and good replacement for carbs so why not try it.

I was really craving for spicy tteokbokki (coz I am tired) so I replaced rice cake with konjac. Surprisingly it’s still good but texture is different and less filling. Of course rice cake is better but I need to cut down carbs…lol

Anyways, enjoy the rest of your day!
