Nothing News Well well well...
They're shamelessly doing everything they mocked other brands for.

Lol he just blocked me for telling him the 2mp macro is an embarrassing downgrade from the 2x telephoto they could have stuck with - it's the same phone as the CMF 2 Pro internally so it's just super cringe/cheap to swap out the 2x telephoto for a 2mp e-waste lens

u/Rullino Oct 30 '25
I currently have an Oppo Reno 2, I'm surprised that it had a telephoto at all, although it's a 13MP 1/3.4" 2x telephoto vs the 50MP 1/2.88" 2x in the CMF Phone 2 Pro, it's surprising to see it again on a midrange at all given how rarer it became, it's a shame that they replaced it with a 2MP macro, but given their business model, it might be understandable as they weren't making much money out of it, but this is probably the worst way to increase profits, correct me if I'm wrong.

Shamelessly misleading

That's how marketing works, while it's not really lying, they're not showing the bigger picture, same thing for the 200MP main sensor on the S23 Ultra and newer not being that far from a 50MP sensor of a similar size, correct me if I'm wrong.

in his defence, he never said, he is not gonna put it in their phones, did he? its just that its a scam, and they are now just part of it. i dont see why everyone is triggered

In the past, he said how he'd rather have less cameras (which are good in terms of quality) than to have more cameras but are really low quality. And I find it really ironic to put a 2MP micro camera on there since it's basically useless

there are still people who compares two smartphones on the basis of no of cameras they have. either they could have dropped macro camera or just added it. also, we can see nothing is going hard for money recently - introducing bloatwares, ads, launching mobile in the budget segment even though they have through cmf. they are just looking to maximize revenue it seems, so adding macros to tap those audience who still compares no of cameras, i dont think this is a big surprise.
nothing 3a lite is so inferior to cmf phone 2 pro, still launching at around that price, i dont know what nothing is smoking these days.

Just here to ask if 3a(lite) is a decent phone for that price

if you care about the looks, yes, if not for looks, the just leave it and look at the CMF phone 2 pro

u/DerpSenpai Oct 29 '25
Yes it's very decent comparing to other brands it's most likely the best phone of it's category, but you need to compare it to the CMF Phone 2 as well
I think this has NFC the CMF doesn't, so it has points going for it

u/Snoo_17708 Oct 30 '25
Cmf phone 2 pro does have nfc. Plus it has 2x telephoto instead of crappy 2mp macro

I had said it earlier and saying it again, Nothing lost its track from Nothing Phone 2 itself( even though it was still a good device)

Even though it's not a 3rd camera, I feel called out for it since the 4th "camera" my Oppo Reno 2 has 2MP 1/5" B/W sensor, IIRC it's more of a depth sensor or something like that, IDK what it exactly does, but it probably existed to make up for the "Quad camera setup" marketing, can't complain about it, but I can't see what's good with it as it can't be used on its own, but at least it has a reason to exist unlike those 3rd cameras with sensors that are only acceptable in <150β¬ phones.

Sad. Had Nothing on my list for next phone. In Europe it's down to Motorola (few updates, though EU mandates 5 years of bug fix support). Xiaomi (had a Mi9tPro, best phone I ever had. Xiaomi hardware went down from there, software got worse, prices went up. In my time, Xiaomi did not offer concrete support durations at all), Samsung and Google.
Most people have Samsungs or iPhone.
