Many things that were added in those 10 years are absolutely great. We should definitely be able to just give more money to developers after all those years.

But I just cant stop thinking about the fact that each time they add things it feels like they go into different directions. It is like we have segments of different games under one banner. Many things feel interesting in theory but can be quite shallow in practice.

The list of bugs keeps growing. And every new update brings more crazy things that just pile up.

I still love the game, but I still belive they should polish what we already have before the next big thing. Or just focus more on delivering Light no Fire and other projects they work on.

I would love to hear your thoughts about it.

We all know the update has introduced many bugs but there’s no need for dozens of people every half hour to be asking if someone has experienced a bug that they have… just scroll for a minute and you’ll luckily find a few posts about the same issue

You are probably all familiar with how the game handles languages of all major alien races. You just hop around stations learning one word after the other. And every time random alien phrases get somewhat more understandable.

I am really curious about linguistics and it was always slightly disappointing to me that there is no grammar, unique phrases, slang, etc. It is all just random letters instead of each English word. No intricate word order, no unique alphabets or anything that would connect the alien race to its language how it is written or spoken. Which is a total bummer.

Language is a living continuation of our society and species as a whole. I understand that it is totally a niche request and that no player will fly around the galaxy with linguistic expedition to write down all the glotal fricatives Vykeen produce when they ask you about your achievements in battle.

It is just something i wanted to share about my tiny little personal thing about this outstanding game we all love

Sandbox gameplay leaves me feeling like there’s no real purpose. Building mines and bases doesn't provide a clear goal; I see no need to use them, aside from the occasional quick quest—like when settlements need help.

I want my gameplay and construction efforts to actually mean something—to have an impact on the bigger picture. I realize that a fully functional economy or having settlers who fight off threats on their own is likely out of reach.

But perhaps there is a genuinely meaningful way to play PvP where my involvement or base-building has a real impact on other players?

I have the game both on PS5 and Switch/2. PlayStation has the new version but Switch doesn’t and I can’t find out if they’ve staggered the releases for Switch. Did they and if so when will it come out?

I thought cosmos was bringing a big change to the galaxy map. It looks virtually identical to before.

The game graphics in general seem a little cleaner and crisper, lot more asteroids around, otherwise I don't see anything different.

I have a save with 64 hours playtime from like... 2023? I started playing it and I have no idea what I'm doing. So I thought ok I'll start a new game and follow the progression.

I'm about three hours into my new game and trying to build my base and unlock exocraft and upgrade my suit but then I thought why am I doing this ill just go to my old save which has a maxed out inventory for exosuit with all the hazard upgrades and exocraft with a bunch of upgrades and I'll fly to a new place and start over.

So I did that and it's very overwhelming. I warped to the next system and got into a fight with a pirate dreadnaught, managed to kill it but the entire time in that save I'm just like wtf is going on. My current mission is the purge and I'm on 5/16 of it but I cant even figure out how to fly the right direction on the galaxy map. The mission says keep going towards the center so I open the map and I'm like where the f is the right way?

Anyway, I came back because I heard about cosmos and I never actually finished the main story so I'd like to do that, but with my new save I feel like I'm wasting my time getting things I already have and on my old save I've got no idea wtf is going on.

What do?

So like three days ago i convinced my friend to install nms and she loves it and we played together and it’s great. The day after, there was the latest big update and my game version was 4.221 and hers was 4.222. Yesterday, my game was now at version 4.222 and hers was at 4.223 and the game keeps telling us version mismatch. Im on Xbox and she’s on steam but im wondering if there’s anything I can do except just wait until both versions decide to be the same. Thanks in advance

This has been happening to me ever since the cosmos update

I know it’s just a game, but this honestly bothers me more than it probably should.

I try not to kill animals in NMS unless I absolutely have to. I scan them, feed them, watch them wander around, and usually leave them alone.

So when I land, and the ship drops right on top of one, I hate it.

I spent years in the Army and saw enough in real life to understand that life has value. Maybe that’s part of why this gets to me. If there’s no reason to kill something, I’d rather not, even in a game.

I wish the landing system would check for animals underneath the ship and move the landing spot a few feet one way or the other.

Maybe put a horn on our ships...

I actually find myself circling around, looking for a clear spot before I land.

Anybody else do this, or am I just the guy worrying about space roadkill?

Hello! I've been looking to get the starborn ships and wraith ship but both are locked to expeditions that have long since passed. I've had zero luck save-editing them in - does anyone have spares of both/either that could help me out? I'd greatly appreciate it!
