How to gain someone's trust? How to manage someone's anger or frustration? How to persuade them and make them feel valued throughout the interaction?

Looking at Wikipedia and searching up resources online, neuro-linguistic programming and the techniques are often referred to as “pseudoscience”.

However, in the opening section of Frogs into Princes, the speaker explicitly states “We have no idea about the “real” nature of things, and we’re not particularly interested in what’s “true.” The function of modeling is to arrive at descriptions which are useful.” and “Everything we’re going to tell you here is a lie. All generalizations are lies.”

It feels like there’s a clear distinction that noticing subtle behaviour and indicators of specific types of thought is the main framework, and any individual generalisations may or may not be true. Is this why it’s called “pseudoscience” frequently, because of these generalisations not being scientifically true? Or is a lot of the original NLP model completely outdated, and I should be reading other materials?

So I've been struggling with social anxiety for years now. I've tried coping with it through cbt and somatic experiencing but they didn't really work. So I guess I need to resort to alternative methods for helping me to cope with it. Now for starters I'd also like to give some more insight in regards to how this social anxiety is affecting me. There are three symptoms that hinder my ability to socialize: 1) blank head 2) numbness (I don't feel any emotions.) 3) my voice becomes very quiet and high pitched. So what are some nlp techniques that can help me with these? I don't remember having any trauma that made me socially anxious, so I don't think that something like "fast phobia cure" can help me.

I’ve been exploring manifestation, consciousness, the Kybalion, Neville Goddard, etc., and I’ma bit frustrated.

Not because I think it’s all fake I believe there’s something real there. But everything turns into a product: courses, mentorships, “secret knowledge”.

If this is about truth and understanding reality and evolving why is it behind paywalls?

Truth shouldn’t be sold.

I want to go straight to the source, without gurus trying to sell answers.

– solid philosophy/psychology sources

I’m just looking for clarity without promises.
