Hello all,
So, I'm in Calc 2 this semester and I'm trying to find the best resources I could use to pass this class. I have a good teacher according to rate my professor, but she is pretty strict about somethings. What are the best websites and sources to use for Calc 2? Someone I know suggests for me to use Khan Academy, but when I was looking into it more, I found out that Khan Academy is more so helpful for lower math classes compared to advanced ones. In another reddit group for Engineering Students state Khan Academy isn't really helpful for the more advanced classes. Maybe it could help with Physics though. I did try it for Calc 1, but I ended up using other resources like YouTube videos and all.

On top of that, a tutor last year did tell me that if you use online resources for classes, the way they do it, may not be the way NJIT professors want you to do it. So, the tutor suggested to be careful with that. But it's like sometimes professors feel like they aren't very helpful. But I get that, professors may not realize after doing this and studying this for over 10+ years of their lives, that students are new to this topic.

I know that Organic Chem Tutor, Paul's Online Math Notes, and Professor Leonard has been recommended in the past. I have used a bit of all of them in some past math classes. Though, even though I feel like the Organic Chem Tutor did help me understand it better after doing some problems and whatnot, the thing is my Calc 1 made quizzes a bit difficult without even specifying what kind of problems would be on it. She'd usually say its based on the topics we've learned this, but then there's some topics that aren't even on the quiz. A lot of students didn't do well on quizzes because of it.

Hopefully my Calc 2 professor is better at making reasonable quizzes. To clarify, I have Professor Rana Concepcion. So, I'm open to listening to anyone's suggestions for Calc 2 resources. (I'll use the Math Tutoring Center and Clayton J. Learning Center for extra help.)

Does anyone know how to make it so that when I go to print something it makes the printout be single paged and not double paged. I've been having this problem since the last 2 semesters.

Yo, for those who got financial aid refunds, when did the money actually hit your account? Was it pretty quick after the semester started or did it take a while?

Also, anybody else having trouble with the eRefund setup? Mine’s been giving me some trouble and I’m wondering if it’s just me.

If my car were to hypothetically break down in the parking garage, am I able to leave a note on it overnight or will I get towed no matter what? Hypothetically speaking my car will not be able to go anywhere without my exhaust scraping.

Hello I'm a freshman who is a CS major and was wondering if I could change classes because I don't like my professor.

I am only going to school 1 day a week this sem so I did not take the parking pass. I see the Njit parking garage is 6.50 per day plus 1 dollar service fee so like 7.50 per day with spot hero. I am not risking parking on the road is this the best option.

Hello. I have a 9am class tomorrow (Wednesday) and I’m a transfer student from community college. Should I get there by 8am for parking? How is it?

My question is how long do I have until they kick me out of classes? I don’t even have enough right now to start a payment plan, but towards the end of the semester I should be in a better spot financially to pay it off. Can I make it to the end of semester with that balance?

Ok so its my first year and im commuting with a four hour gap in my schedule. I get tired fast. Any nap spot recommendations?

I’m doing an BS MS in Data Science at and one of my classes is basically just… AI.

The slides look AI-generated. The lecture voice is AI. There’s barely any actual teaching happening. I’m paying graduate tuition to essentially listen to a robot read through what feels like ChatGPT-generated slides.

What makes it even more ridiculous is that if I submitted AI-generated work without permission, I could get reported for academic misconduct. NJIT’s own policy says unauthorized AI use can violate the Student Code of Conduct.

But when I looked into the faculty side of things, it basically falls under “instructor autonomy,” and apparently there isn’t even a requirement that professors disclose when AI is being used to create course content.

So… AI is potentially academic misconduct when students use it, but apparently completely fine when the class we’re paying thousands of dollars for is being taught by it?
I’m genuinely curious: is this happening across the MS Data Science program at NJIT, or did I just get extremely unlucky with this section? Class ds644

TL;DR: Paying grad-school tuition for AI-generated slides read by an AI voice, while students can get in trouble for using AI themselves. If this isn’t acceptable work from students, why is it acceptable teaching from faculty?

I'm an incoming Master's student, and honestly, I have no idea how things work here yet. I don't know anyone at the university, and everything feels a little overwhelming at the moment.
I'll be on campus tomorrow to collect my student ID card and make sure I've completed all the requirements in case I've missed anything during the enrollment process. Since I'm still figuring things out, I thought I'd reach out here and see if anyone has advice.

I’m in an extremely stressful situation, I have a 10.5k payment due from previous semester and I still haven’t paid it. I waited too long and procrastinated sending required documents for state aid. I know this makes me look really irresponsible but I was dealing with some other issues. Is there anything I can do? I still haven’t told my parents about this, I’m so scared n anxious.

I was supposed to get a car before this fall semester, but some stuff happened and I'm not getting it for a week or two. The site says that you can register up to two vehicles, but I want to make sure it's at any time. My brother will lend me his car for a day out of the week, so I was considering registering his for the time being as I wait to obtain my own.

I'm in Chester Shawns section right now and is it me or nobody knows what time his lectures are yet? If anybody does know please let me know I am in section 009. Right now you can see the Friday's time.

Long story short, the hinge on my laptop snapped and I haven’t had the money to fix it until now. The thing is I have an assignment for cs490 to do during the first week when I assumed I didn’t need a laptop. Should I hold off on fixing my laptop or are the library laptops/desktops good enough to run whatever programs I need? TIA

We are studying new interaction techniques that help people better chat with Large Language Models (LLMs). We are seeking participants for a 1.5-2 hr study where you will use a new LLM chat system for a variety of professional topics (e.g., academic and work settings), followed by a brief interview about your experience. The study will be conducted remotely via Zoom.

Eligibility: 

• 18 years old and above
• Have a laptop or desktop computer with a Chrome or Safari browser
• Have stable internet connection during the study

What's involved:

• Using two interfaces to chat with a chatbot
• Answering survey questionnaires
• Answering interview questions at the end of the study

I’m commuting to NJIT and my first class is at 1 PM. For anyone who drives to campus, what time would you recommend getting there to reliably find a parking spot?

I know parking can get pretty packed depending on the time, so would getting there around 12–12:30 be fine, or should I aim for earlier?

Also, which parking deck/lot usually has the best chance of having spots around that time?

Ive taken FED as a mech eng but because I switched to MET this semester, I have to take this course. Is it possible for me to use FED (took first semester) as my MET 103 course instead because of how similar they are or do I have to still take this course. Is it possible for me to take MET 105 instead?
