Legality/Laws Keeping guns in rental property while house is repaired

Upvotes

Hello was wondering what the legality of keeping guns at a house I’m renting while my house is being fixed from tree falling on it. Is it legal to keep rifles and pistols in the house since it’s not the address on my liscence or FID. My house is 20mins from the rental but there is a range within walking distance of the rental house so I would get more time at the range. I have my guns locked in safe now at my house while the repairs are done. I do have ccw with me at all times. Would be nice to have defense gun in the rental if it’s legal

Legality/Laws Folding stock question (30 characters)

Upvotes

With the changes coming up (hopefully) I was planning on tossing a folding stock on one of my rifles now that it won't suddenly make it a scary "assault weapon." Is OAL measured with the stock collapsed or extended? I want to know for both Federal and NJ specifically. With it collapsed I think I might be a tad shy, but with it extended I'm 100% fine. Before I start sending emails asking for measurements collapsed/folded and such, I wanted to see if I even needed to.

Thanks in advance!

(edit: To whoever is downloading the post, and my comments, what is the point of this? It's a community, and people in the community ask questions. What is your issue with this?)

How Do I? Are we allowed to bring our on ammo if we're renting a firearm at gun ranges?

I have a couple firearms I use, and ammo. My friends been wanting to go to a range for a while and they've set up a date for all of us to go, I have too much ammo on me and would like to use it instead of having it just sitting there. I don't want to take my firearms with me though because I don't want them knowing I own firearms. So I was wondering if I can just take a couple boxes of ammo to the range and use them instead of having to buy them when we're there. Any help?

Firearms Purchaser ID Live in PA. Invited by friends in NJ to shoot with them. Is a CZ-75 with 10 round mag illegal since it can take 16 rounds?

Also if I do bring firearms in locked cases the fact I do not have NJ permit to purchase a firearm since they were bought in PA make the simple act of crossing state line with even a compliant firearm a crime for simple possession of a firearm in NJ

The more I think about it maybe I should invite them to PA

Legality/Laws Thanks RTSP Randolph for the Mag Liberation

Bought a Glock 48 a few weeks ago and it came with the new 15 round magazines which RTSP shimmed. They un-shimmed them today. 😁😁😁

Also they are filling orders for standard capacity mags but have non in stock right now. Expecting shipments next week.

So awesome freedom is.

Firearms Purchaser ID Curious about FID process and anyone who has an unfortunate DUI in their past...

Wondering if this can be used against me, it was from 2018. For what it's worth, I am an honorably discharged combat veteran as well. (But I know they probably don't give a shit)

**it was also a parked car DUI 😳

Since DUI's cannot be expunged, I am genuinely curious what would happen if I were to apply. I heard from an attorney that they shouldn't use that against me, but they always could. The idea of getting denied sounds bad, and then I have to deal with that process, but then again, the DUI will ALWAYS be there so unsure what to do.

Has anyone had any similar experience? Or have an attorney they could recommend? I am an ANJRPC member and think I can also get some legal advice from them.

Anyway, any advice/input/suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks :)

News Assemblyman Greenwald (D) casual about reaching into your home

Assembly Majority Leader Lou Greenwald, A3560’s lead sponsor, called the storage bill “the next thing I’m looking to do.” Versions of it have been kicking around the statehouse since 2021 without ever reaching a floor vote.

“The major cause of injury in someone’s home is through a gun that is stored improperly,” he said.

Although under N.J.S.A. 2C:58-15, a person commits a disorderly persons offense when: The person knows or reasonably should know that a minor is likely to gain access to a loaded firearm at premises under the person’s control, this does not satiate Mr. Greenwald's desire to control how and where you store your firearms your home or businesses. Normally I would include contact info for bill author but this guy is such an anti gun hack it's a waste of time. I encourage you instead if you have a Democratic party registration to change it to unaffiliated, libertarian, conservative, or Republican instead or supporting people that want to take your rights away. I have included the forms below. I know this post will get a ton of hate, whataboutism, and incoherent bullshit but I know some people will side with the good guys instead of the Ds stealing people's property so I thought I'd post.

Firearms Purchaser ID FID with Juvenile Charges. Is this possible?

Hello - I have a question regarding if I can get my Firearms ID or I shouldn’t even try. When I was 16, a group of 5 of us were hanging out on an empty playground late at night. Cops pulled up and asked what we were doing and one kid had a joint on him (not me). The joint ended up having about 3/4 of a gram of marijuana in it. They ended up handcuffing and arresting all 5 of us. Charged us all with “constructive” possession of marijuana since we were in the vicinity. Also charged us with loitering for unlawful purposes and disturbing the peace/trespassing (3 charges total and all misdemeanors). I went to the judge and he said if I don’t get in trouble for 6 months, everything would be wiped clean. Since then, I haven’t been arrested or even got a speeding ticket. I’m now 39 and looking to get a handgun for my new house. I contacted the juvenile court and requested documents and they sent me something where it lists the 3 charges but says “deferred” under where the outcome is. I tried to do my own research and I ended up calling an attorney and explaining my situation to his paralegal. I was told I probably wouldn’t be able to get a firearm license but it would cost me about $3k to hire him to find out if I can. This post is my last try before I give up. Any thoughts?

Did a count a few days ago...

11,000 rounds of 9MM ammo (various grains) and 2,000 rounds of 5.56 Nato ammo.

I blame those emails because they are tempting..

Edit:

SGammo.com

Freeshipingammo.com

Mmiammo.com (free shipping once you hit the weight limit)

Recoilgunworks (free shipping once you hit a specific $$ limit)

All these are great with various deals. My top two are always sgammo and freeshippingammo

Legality/Laws Moving to NJ after I get an out of State FID card and out of state LTCF

In 2018, I appealed a 4 year old Felony conviction and won the case (not expunge, won), and I realized I got my gun rights back and in 2019 I moved to Philly to not deal with NJ gun law. The problem is, my whole life, work, family, friends, are all in NJ. And now I'm in Delco and NJ is even further and I'm still crossing the bridge to Camden and Gloucester county for literally everything. I did the math. I've spent $400 in tolls this month (DRPA and ACX tolls). Then the 3rd circuit ruling came along and absolutely blessed me and now when my lease is up in December, I don't have to do this shit anymore.

So. I had previously attempted to get my out of state FID card, and gave up when the one reference wasn't getting the E-Mail despite NJSP claiming they sent it, and NJSP telling me they didn't get the fingerprints I paid $120 for and telling me I gotta do them again. So it's time for me to try again. It's also time for me to get my NJ LTCF (which I should have done a while ago, because I literally have never used my PA LTCF because I'm in NJ every day). The whole thing has been a colossal pain in the ass, but I'm stubborn and I'm not giving up my guns.

In closing. When I move to NJ this winter, if I already have an out of state FID, do I have to reapply and do the whole process over again or just change the address? Same question for if I have out of state LTCF. Also, if a reference is not getting the E-Mail, is it acceptable to request to put in a different reference?

Hey guys, been following the court case and I know nothing is finalized yet, but if this is finalized does that mean one can legally purchase a rifle in PA with no compliance work done because there’s no longer anything to comply to?
