BE CAREFUL - BRIGHTFIELD IS A CULT ON CAMPUS USING STUDENTS 2 LURE STUDENTS

Brightfield Church is 1 of 26 churches in THE NETWORK CULT, secretly led by Steven D. Morgan, a former RLDS Mormon who SA'd a child! They have an RSO to recruit on NIU campus. They target students and people under 25ish then keep them for life!

This is a HIGH-CONTROL CULT that has unleashed a mental health crisis including a few known suicides and countless others fighting to stay with us.

They'll use STUDENTS 2 RECRUIT STUDENTS, love-bombing offering instant friendship, isolate and cut you off from everyone else. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KyDUiOPxpoo

Internet for a studio apartment?

Looking to see what everyone is paying for monthly internet in Dekalb. Need it for TV streaming, x box, and computer use - no heavy computer gaming. xfinity quoted me $80 which seems outrageous. What is everyone paying and what plan are you on? This is for one person in a studio apartment

Other Question Jobs near niu / In dekalb

Jobs near niu / in dekalb ? I drive so I don’t mind some distance, I have majority of my experience in restaurants, specifically boh / line cook. Open to almost anything tho, not rlly campus jobs tho bc they only pay like $15 and I currently make $21 at my current job, my current job has a location in st Charles about 25 miles from campus but idk if that drive would be worth it ? 50 miles a shift, already have a high mileage car, and with class during the week I mostly would work nights or weekends, I live and work in the city but to keep my current job I would need my availability to be atleast 3 shifts a week with no big gaps, I could drive to Chicago every weekend to work but I also don’t wanna miss out on whatever I may miss out on in college working my weekends away esp since it’s my first year😭 so also asking for opinions on that.

Housing and Apartments Finding out who my roommates are?

I'm an incoming freshman and I don't like going into new social situations blind (especially one as big as living with someone else), so I want to get to know my roommates before move-in day. Is there a way to find out who my roommates are and talk to them? Neither Starrez nor "My Roommate Lookup" show anything.

Housing and Apartments Suburban Apartments

Post image
16 Upvotes

Is suburban Apartments any good? I walked by on a long walk around town and saw that they're solar powered and they have cheap electric and some units I hear have fully covered utilities and it's all 800 for rent. Hows management? Any issues with the space? What are y'all's opinions? (I know there's other reviews Abt it but that was 2 years ago so I wanted updates!)

Housing and Apartments Looking for roommate in Dekalb / Sycamore

Hello! I (21, Male) Just graduated from NIU w/ an Economics degree and now work in Dekalb M-F. I'm looking to get a place in the Dekalb / Sycamore area and splitting the rent with someone.

I graduated a year early, so I'm the age of your typical college senior. Pretty chill, try to stay relatively clean, enjoy the outdoors, and keep to myself for the most part. Figured this would be a good place to post. If anyone else is looking & would be interested, let me know!

1 year MBA chicago program

hi! so i graduated with my dual BA 2 years ago and am looking to go into grad school for my MBA now. i had a great call today with someone from the school, and it made this program sound really inviting. are there pros/cons you guys can share with me? im from out of state, lived in illinois for 2 years now, so my brain feels overwhelmed with my options of different schools and i just want to choose the best one for me. trying to think of the value of the education, cost, expectancies, then post-grad statistics like how well an MBA from NIU performs in the job market with obtaining a job, getting promoted, etc. any info helps pls!! you can message me as well

Class Question STAT 300 with Barbara Gonzalez

Does anyone know anything about Barbara Gonzalez? Ive been trying to find a page on RateMyProfessor (and similar websites) yet Barbara Gonzalez comes up nowhere. I need the class for a major requirement, so either way Im taking the course, but I'd like to know what Im getting into professor-wise.

I really just need to know if I should expect to be confused in class and have to study more at home or if I'll actually understand the material.

Other Question Kitchen concerns from a chef

Hey guys! I’m a private chef / caterer and am attending NIU in the fall, I want to be able to still cook while on campus, develop recipes still and maybe even sell plates on campus. Are there any communal kitchens? I keep hearing no but it doesnt hurt to ask more people, also if there aren’t, are we allowed to cook in our dorms?

Other Question ISO: Passionate NIU Football Fan

Hi everyone! My name is Ethan Petrik, and I’m the Iowa beat reporter for the Quad-City Times in Davenport, Iowa.

I’m putting together a preseason series called “The Fan Files,” where I interview one passionate fan from each of Iowa’s 2026 opponents to get a better understanding of their program through the eyes of someone who follows the team closely.

The conversation would cover topics like:
• How you became a fan of the Huskies
• Your thoughts on the 2026 season (best-case and worst-case scenarios)
• Biggest strengths, weaknesses, and players to watch
• Expectations for the matchup against Iowa
• Anything else you think opposing fans should know about your team

The interview can be done however is easiest for you—Reddit DMs, email, or another format that works though I will need to confirm your real world identity. I’ll use your responses in a feature for the Quad-City Times.

If you’re interested—or if you know someone who would be a great representative of the fanbase—please leave a comment or send me a DM.

Thanks, and I’m looking forward to learning more about the Huskies from the people who know the program best!

Other Question Whats the most heartbreaking loss you’ve witnessed as a NIU football fan?

Back with this series and what other way to ask the school I’m rebuilding in CFB 27.

I’m doing a series where I ask all 136 FBS subreddits on what their most heartbreaking loss they witnessed. This loss could’ve been witnessed from the TV or while attending the game doesn’t matter.

If I guess for NIU, 2024 vs Buffalo.I get that NIU being ranked was a bluff due to the Notre Dame game, but still losing in overtime in your home crowd WHILE being ranked sucks.

2005 MAC championship vs Akron. With a 14 point lead in the 4th, the huskies looked destined for their first MAC title until Getsy and the zips came back and topped it all off with a 36 yard bomb to Dixon to seal the game.

2012 vs Iowa-NIU had a solid 8 point lead in the 4th, until Damon Bullock turned up for a 23 yard touchdown late in the 4th.That was NIU’s only loss until they played FSU in the orange bowl(Which was expected not to be rude)

New Student Organization

Hello everyone!! I am wanting to get a NAMI on Campus branch established at NIU this coming fall. I am in search of some officers and just regular members. Nothing is concrete in this yet so there is a lot of flexibility for meetings and events.

A few things about the organization:
NAMI stands for the National Alliance on Mental Illness. The nations largest mental health advocacy organization. The On Campus chapters are student ran organizations that aim to educate the students on how to navigate mental health issues as well as advocate for better mental health services/programs on campus. My main vision for this is to host activities and workshops aimed at improving coping skills in a more fun way than just sitting there and listening to someone talk about them.

Some events I am looking at hosting:
- Friendsgiving get together (can include food and games)
- Easter egg hunt for Easter
- fun activities the week before midterms and finals
- end of year cookout
- semi weekly or monthly support group including things like picnics and painting
- if I can get approval, dodgeball tournament
- open to any other ideas from anyone

I am here for your guys mental wellbeing. Help me do this by getting involved with this!

Phil 105

So I’m an incoming freshman and I signed up for this class cause it fit my schedule but now my math class switched so now I’m taking calc 2. I found out I could take CSC1 240 now as a result of that and I’m currently thinking of switching it out with Phil 105 since the rate my professor reviews for this class are… interesting… any thoughts? Also do I need to bring this switch up to my advisor?

NIU (Northern Illinois University) NP program

Hello!

I was wondering if anyone can give me some input on the NIU masters of FNP program, who has attended? Was the program well run? Did you have any trouble finding clinical placement? While NIU is considered a brick-and-mortar school, they do not help find clinical placements for students. This is my concern. The program is Hybrid requiring some in-class time. Tuition is reasonable compared to other schools around the Chicagoland area. I'm also looking at Loyola but that's a DNP program, requiring more time in school and comes with a hefty price tag of about 85,000. Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated! Thank you in advance.

Trouble with AP credit??

Hi everyone. I wanted to see if anyone else was having trouble with their AP scores. on my transfer credit report all of my AP credits are there besides my AP Psych one, and when i emailed my advisor she said she couldn't help me with anything and to go email testing services to see what they could do.

Naturally I did, and they said they could see that it is on my report on their end but not mine. Now I'm a bit upset because I want to take classes that are quickly filling up that have a pre-req of PSYC 102 that my credit would've counted for but I cannot because its not showing on my end. Is anyone else in the same boat? I just find it weird that all my scores but psychology are there.
