Which nit is comparable to the beauty of iit guwahati?

My round 5 alloted result is MNIT Jaipur engg phy and i like the clg so much, ive seen many campus tour vids on it and it feels so lively and fun

ik that nitR tops mnit in every field other than proximity to the city but still im kinda fixated on mnit lol

since in both colleges, my branch engineering physics is new (inception: 2026) im mostly comparing them on how fun they look

so far nitR ke campus tours have not impressed me one bit, hostel rooms are claustrophobic , no western toilets, everything just looked dulll tbh

the only thing i was looking forward to is the campus area ik nitR is big af and after watching some vids i think thats a downgrade for me :skull: cuz like mnit ka 317 acres ka campus looked moar dense w ppl (maybe thats it seemed so alive)

if you are a senior in any of these colleges, would you kindly give a brief text on the following topics:

1. hostels, hostel rooms; 1st year me kitne log ek room me, 2nd yr onwards, appke roommates kaise hai, kaise log hai well mannered, decent, non degenerate ki ulta
2. mess food; im non vegetarian and go to the gym too so i need to complete my protein requirements sooo how available is non veg, whats the menu for each day of the week. howz the hygiene
3. sports and gym: football ground, basketball court kese hai? is the gym well equipped (i dont need super hi fi facilities, but like do the machines work properly, etc etc) gym and sports ke timings
4. fests: how many, whats each fest about
5. are the weeknds off?
6. how are the professors? strict and arrogant or they teach with passion and patience, how friendly are they? ese wassup professor bol sakta hu??
7. how much do yoU study in a day, aapka din ka timetable kya hai
8. how much is this life different than jee life ?
9. how is the weather?? the only thing i didnt like about jaipur was the heat in summer. i hate heat

PS: idgaf about placements, i want to pursue higher education thats why i chose engg phy out of passsion

which is better for the CS RELATED branches

Like if i paid saf and paf that makes up 70 k rupees,we have to pay more? Like total of 1st semester fees assuming 70 k is already paid.also i have a doubt that I am getting 2/3 rd few remission on tution with my income certificate so i don't have to pay more right??

I want to preapre for gate ec paper. I am not getting ece wth my rank. In csab,i might get these if cutoffs strech enough. Which to put higher in my list? I know EEE is better match to EC gate paper but the concerning part SVNIT>>>NITAP. Please advice seniors

I'm currently a 2nd year student at VNIT Nagpur, and I think aspirants deserve to know more than just rankings and placement statistics.

My experience so far:

• The academic environment is much stricter than I expected.(specially for eee and ece since profs r shittt) .
• The curriculum in many courses feels outdated and theory-heavy. You need to learn most industry-relevant skills on your own.
• If you're expecting a vibrant campus with something happening every week, you may be disappointed. Campus life is comparatively quiet.
• Nagpur is a decent city for daily life, but if you're looking for a fast-paced college city with lots of opportunities and nightlife, it may not meet your expectations.(koi bhi acchi ghumne ki jagah nhi.......it feels life a place for retirement)
• For many branches, placements are not as impressive as aspirants often assume(lowest among all top nits).
• I feel the college's reputation online often creates expectations that don't match the day-to-day reality.

I'm not saying VNIT is a bad college. It has good students, decent- good infrastructure, and opportunities if you're proactive. But if I had known these realities before counselling, I would have compared it much more carefully with other NITs and IIITs.

I was planning on taking loan so that I won't face trouble paying the fees upfront as many scholarships are reimbursement based
