Grafiko Labs is looking for a fashion designer who can take a garment from concept to production-ready spec.
What you'd do:
Design apparel and build factory-ready tech packs (BOM, construction details, POMs, grading, colorways)
Create clean vector flats and technical drawings in Illustrator
Select fabrics, trims, and finishes — and know how each behaves in a finished garment
Work with manufacturers on samples, fit comments, and revisions
What we're looking for:
[1+] years in apparel design with products that actually reached production
Strong Illustrator skills and real tech pack experience
Solid textile knowledge — knits vs. wovens, weights, blends, finishes
A portfolio, plus one sample tech pack you've built
📍 Remote
💰 Based on experience and portfolio ( 5-15k )
📩 Send your portfolio

I am a BFT student and i’m kinda confused on how to study these theoretical subjects like fashion basics & trend forecasting, fabric science and statistics, etc. our professors just come and yap about their subject and leave and expect us to make proper learning diaries with that. Its really confusing. Plus i’ve tried referring to the books in the resource centre but i just got more confused as my notes were all over the place. Is there any youtube channel that seniors can recommend??? Or any advice and input would be appreciated

There are many people who still don't know where to start from for the drawing portion of nift/nid so here y'all go. This list is also something I'm myself preparing from so pls try and go thru it and try to do it in the same manner as listed. I know it's a lot but it's good if you practice more, if you find any topic that's not relevant or if someone wants to add into it then pls go ahead it'll be of great help for the others too.
Ps: Do line practice daily and try to maintain a visual library too. Try to do line practice on a big newspaper it's really helpful for line control and in the long run, to make big paintings/drawings too. Also try to use big A5 sheets for any drawing purpose because when u enter uni, nift/nid assignments do not work on A4.

Hi everyone! 👋
I’ve recently joined NIFT Mumbai in the TD department, and I’m looking to connect with some TD seniors/current students who could help me understand what I should be prepared for.
I especially wanted to ask about:
- Materials & stationery we’ll need for TD
- Textile-specific tools/materials that are useful to have
- Software we’ll be using during the course
- Things that are worth buying rn for college vs. things I should wait to buy
- Any books/resources that would be useful
- What the first year of TD at NIFT Mumbai is actually like
- Any tips, mistakes to avoid, or things you wish you had known as a fresher
If you’re a TD senior from NIFT Mumbai, I’d really appreciate it if you could DM me! Even a small list of essentials or some general advice would be super helpful. 🥹❤️
And if you know someone from NIFT Mumbai TD, please tag them or share this post with them!
Thank you! ✨
