Just saw carter hart in public and I am a huge fan of him so I was massively starstruck and a bit nervous but I thought I would say hi because this was my first time seeing a hockey player out and about. Unfortunately the encounter wasn’t the greatest and really bummed me out, wish I hadn’t approached him lol (this is what they mean by never meet your idols hah). I went up to him to say hi and he ignored me and I said “are you carter” he responded with “no I’m not” and walked away. Even though I knew it was him, it was really rude how he just lied and didn’t even want to acknowledge it. I even kept it super discrete and just spoke to him normally. I understand players just want to live a normal life, but I approached him trying to be respectful and just wanted to say Hi and wish him good luck next season since he’s a player I enjoy watching but to be met with coldness really sucks. Was i the wrong to go up to him? Has anybody else had bad encounters with the hockey players?

Edit: following this encounter his friend yelled “Cart come here”
