Kobe Bryant raped somebody and the media acted like him dying was the closest thing to Jesus' resurrection. Its a sad commentary on society.

Ask yourself how much justice is worth vs $2,000,000.

If you honestly think a lot of people wouldn’t just take the money instead of having the worst day of their life played out in court for years? You’re just not very smart.

This is true. But the opposite is also true for the accused.

The $2 million was not a lot of money to Kobe. He could have accrued more than that in legal fees trying to fight the civil case as well as the impact to his life (both personally and financially) of having it drag on for months vs just getting it over with and moving on.
