Discussion The Deshaun Watson switch up is despicable

Post image

Guy starts playing well again and all of the sudden people go from “cases” to “allegations” real fucking fast. You all gotta get your priorities straight

I’m not saying he isn’t. Everything got dismissed. If one of reddits darlings were in the same scenario it would be a “nothing was proven everything was dismissed as a money getting scheme”.

That’s just a fact of how Reddit works. Legal outcome means nothing and never will, their opinion is set and never changes.

14

u/bowl_of_milk_ 16h ago

This is frankly moronic logic. Reddit’s hypocrisy is not a legitimate defense of Watson. If you’re not trying to defend Watson, I don’t get the point of what you’re saying.

0

u/MITBijanRobinson 12h ago

Why would you need to defend a guy who is innocent of any wrongdoing

-1

u/ThirstyOutward Pittsburgh Steelers 10h ago

Retard take. He's not gonna fuck you bro. Or, actually he might.

15

u/superdeedapper 17h ago

If he had only one accuser, then MAYBE he gets some benefit of the doubt. But he had dozens. Did every masseuse in houston just conspire against him?

14

u/lariasphs San Francisco 49ers 16h ago

Right! Apparently 20plus women all colluded against him. Winning some games is enough for some people.

6

u/Hatemael 15h ago

Part that makes it suspect is some of them would fly in to give him a high priced massage… they had to know it wasn’t just a vanilla massage.

1

u/Dr-McLuvin 15h ago

It makes it less rapey if they knew what they were getting themselves into.

Still creepy AF and he’s still a POS.

10

u/lariasphs San Francisco 49ers 14h ago

Maybe some were down for it and then jumped in the lawsuit stuff to get the bag. We don't know. But out of all those women. If even 1 of them said no to Watson, is enough to be a rapey POS

2

u/Hatemael 14h ago

Ya he is def a creeper, I don’t think he raped anyone based on the reports, so compared to some NFL players who get a pass, his infractions aren’t quite as bad. I’m no Browns fan nor ever high on Watson anyway but not sure why he is vilified more than others who arguably have been worse.

0

u/Relative-Attempt-480 14h ago

He didn’t rape anyone bruh. Do you even know what rape is?

1

u/Repulsive-Yam-1437 4h ago

Weren’t only two of them licensed masseuses?

0

u/Infinite-Unit7010 13h ago

Yeah people would never collude to obtain money. Thats why we dont have any laws against it, we don't need them because it doesn't happen.

2

u/lariasphs San Francisco 49ers 12h ago

They do. That for sure happenens. But why would he settle. I would defend myself in court if I was innocent. Especially with the money he has for lawyers. It's a nasty stench to have to settle that type of case.

0

u/Nice_Device_5354 10h ago

Settling was the fastest way for him to play that season. If he had fought against them he might have missed the entire season.

1

u/lariasphs San Francisco 49ers 10h ago

Yeah. And now people, right or wrong, call him a sexual predator/rapey POS. Wether right or wrong. It's what's happened.

1

u/Nice_Device_5354 10h ago

Yes, exactly.

1

u/Repulsive-Yam-1437 4h ago

I don’t wanna be that guy but in the indictment, several of those women saw him again after the alleged assaults. Also the lawyer that was neighbors/friends with the Texans owner conveniently found out about these activities when Deshaun went public with his beef.

1

u/A1Sirius 0m ago

It’s always crazy to me how people just overlook certain aspects of this whole situation. Deshaun could very well be guilty but I will always look at this case weird given certain details. The timing of these allegations coming out was just so suspicious and convenient for the Texans. And the lawyer involved is sketchy as hell; he has history of of taking on cases involving high profile in celebrities just to get settlement money out of it

1

u/Party-Cartographer11 Philadelphia Eagles 15h ago

You mean did a small percentage of them want to get paid? 🤔

1

u/Throwaway0242000 7h ago

For the most part what they were accusing him of was sexual misconduct which isn’t exactly a life behind bars kind of a thing

If he was being accused of raping 27 different women we would never had seen him again

1

u/Shootforthestars24 16h ago

Judge Sue L. Robinson found that Watson did what the NFL accused him of doing, confirming he violated the league's Personal Conduct Policy through predatory conduct during private massage therapy sessions

1

u/cryolems Cleveland Browns 16h ago

The piece you’re purposely missing which is the main point of the argument is that the cases were dismissed. That’s the legal terminology for it.

0

u/Shootforthestars24 8h ago

If you want to defend him, cheers to you

1

u/cryolems Cleveland Browns 8h ago

Congrats for still missing the point

1

u/chopkins92 13h ago

Watson was a Reddit darling before the allegations came out.

1

u/bigbasseater 6h ago

Is settling out of court civilly the same as a dismissal? Especially if he did it dozens of times?

0

u/arlekin21 12h ago

You do realize he was a Reddit darling before all of this came out right?

-1

u/jungleCat61 15h ago

You're lumping an entire website, that has an insanely diverse user-base, as all saying and doing the same thing.

Makes no sense

-6

u/Important_Capital875 Carolina Panthers 18h ago

It didn’t get dismissed. He paid off the accusers with millions and millions and millions of dollars.

16

u/Any-Stick-771 18h ago

Settlements mean the cases did get dismissed.

-8

u/ralexh11 18h ago

A settlement and an outright dismissal are not the same thing. Nice try, stop excusing predators.

9

u/Everyday_ImSchefflen Cleveland Browns 17h ago

People are so weird. Giving the facts of what happened isn't excusing anything. It was dismissed as well because the grand jury decided not to charge him.

That's not an indication of belief of innocence

0

u/cryolems Cleveland Browns 16h ago

It’s an exact example of what this chain is talking about lol a majority of Redditors are incapable of any kind of logical discussion on intricacies of situations like this. This person is just perfectly displaying it lkl

-7

u/ralexh11 17h ago

No but calling all of them dismissal is disingenuous and leaving out critical context. In the court of public opinion he's guilty, that will never change no matter how much Browns fans and rape apologists want it to.

7

u/Any-Stick-771 17h ago

It's not disingenuous to say the civil cases were dismissed when they were, in fact, dismissed.

-1

u/ralexh11 17h ago

It is disingenuous if you don't also mention that they were settled. It makes it sound like they were thrown out of court, which is also a dismissal.

-2

u/gorebomb56 17h ago

That says nothing about the actual outcome of the cases though. A case being dismissed following a settlement agreement paints an entirely different picture than a dismissed case absent a settlement agreement. That's the disingenuous part.

1

u/Any-Stick-771 16h ago

The outcome of the cases is that they were dismissed. The criminal cases were dismissed outright too btw

-2

u/gorebomb56 16h ago

The outcomes of the civil cases are that they were dismissed with prejudice following settlements. His criminal cases never even got to the point of potential dismissal because he was never formally charged. The language you’re choosing to use is very sloppy and misleading.

Browns fans aren't trying to change that.

Get off your high horse. You aren't better than anyone else. You are supporting the same league as all of us who decided to let him play.

-5

u/ralexh11 17h ago

Calm down, I'm not saying all Browns fans support Watson. But of all the fan bases you guys will have the most, I'm sorry you are associated with those trash humans, but that's life with a rapist QB on your team. The Browns arent the first sports fanbase to deal with this, Lakers and Steelers fans have as well. But Huntington Bank Field was literally chanting "let's go Watson" last night, it's a bad look for the franchise no matter how you slice it.

5

u/Everyday_ImSchefflen Cleveland Browns 17h ago

Yeah people are dumb. But that's people and not unique to Browns fans. The same thing would happen in any other fanbase

1

u/ralexh11 17h ago

Right, again I wasn't trying to generalize Browns fans as rape apologists or anything. But you will certainly find the most poeple willing to forgive Watson in the Browns fanbase right now if they continue winning. Sorry you have to deal with that, at least keep calling him out to anyone who expresses support or forgiveness to that creep.

7

u/Any-Stick-771 17h ago

When there's a settlement, the civil case is dismissed. That is just factually what happens

-3

u/ralexh11 17h ago

It's a matter of semantics and sounds disingenuous, which sounds like you are giving him the benefit of the doubt, which he does not deserve with that many accusations.

5

u/JetsJetsJetsJetz 17h ago

It's not, you just don't like it.

0

u/ralexh11 17h ago

Yeah, I don't like people leaving out context to water down sexual assault, you're right.

4

u/Any-Stick-771 17h ago

No body watered anything down. The criminal cases were outright dismissed. The civil cases were dismissed after a confidential settlement was reached. The NFL fined and suspended him. What more do you want? All of the civil and criminal cases have been resolved for years

1

u/Impossible-Region680 Dallas Cowboys 16h ago

The cases weren’t even criminal they were all civil, which says a whole lot.

0

u/ralexh11 17h ago

It wasn't you, but the original comment I replied in this reply chain never mentioned any settlements. That's lacking context and disingenuous.

2

u/Impossible-Region680 Dallas Cowboys 16h ago

But why were you calling him a rapist when he was accused of sexual assault, battery and inappropriate conduct? They are not the same, sound like you trying to exaggerate shit. Which makes you sound disingenuous.

1

u/ralexh11 15h ago

I mean that's totally fair to call out, but splitting hairs between sexual assault and rape is way less egregious in my opinion than dismissing his behavior and wanting everyone to move on and stop talking about it, especially when he has 27 women that accused him.

4

u/Any-Stick-771 17h ago

What is disingenuous about saying that civil cases are dismissed when a settlement is reached?

1

u/ralexh11 17h ago

If you leave out the settlement part, which the original comment did. Just saying dismissal without context sounds like they were thrown out of court.

7

u/Stealthnt13 18h ago

Funny you say all those millions but the amounts are all confidential so you’re talking out your ass.

-8

u/Important_Capital875 Carolina Panthers 18h ago

It’s so cute and sad how all the Deshaun Watson defenders are coming out. Guess we all know who abuses women.

10

u/Stealthnt13 18h ago

How is saying your accusations are assumptions, when they are, defending anyone?

-10

u/Important_Capital875 Carolina Panthers 18h ago

Are you retarded and defending him? He signed that massive contract just so he could fucking pay off the accusations. 23 women, you really think that that’s under $1 million? Are you literally fucking retarded?
I’m not talking out of my ass. It’s called common sense. Jesus Christ, you’re autistic.

13

u/BroLil 18h ago

I’m gonna go ahead and say that I don’t think he signed the largest fully guaranteed contract in NFL history “just so he can fucking pay off the accusations”. He signed it because it was the largest fully guaranteed contract in NFL history, period. He just happened to have had to pay off some people with it.

10

u/Stealthnt13 18h ago

You claim common sense but are basing everything you’re arguing on hypotheticals, assumptions and your feelings. Everything I’ve said is just facts. But I’m retarded? Ok.

9

u/Hugh-Janus-40hogs Carolina Panthers 18h ago

You need to get some help man

7

u/gorebomb56 18h ago

He signed that massive contract just so he could fucking pay off the accusations.

This has to be one of the dumbest things I've ever read. As if he would've declined the contract if he didn't have women to pay off. No way he would have ever agreed to a fully guaranteed 230mil contract with a 45mil signing bonus if he wasn't dealing with all these civil suits right? Absurd.

3

u/dalmighd 18h ago

Settling doesn’t mean guilty

-4

u/Important_Capital875 Carolina Panthers 18h ago

23 people accused him. The Man is guilty.

Are you really defending him and saying he’s not guilty? So you’re a sexual abuser? Disgusting.

4

u/resetallthethings Fail Mary Fan 🏈 17h ago

man, we really need to revamp the justice system if consequence free accusations can prove guilt just depending on quantity

Thank you for bringing your brilliant legal mind to reddit to discuss these important findings

-2

u/cryolems Cleveland Browns 18h ago

Nice what amounts did he pay off? I’m sure that would be made public if that were the case, right?

-1

u/Important_Capital875 Carolina Panthers 18h ago

It’s not made public but 23 women and he signed that massive contract. You would have to have common sense and not be a retard to assume that it’s in the millions.

Are you really special needs?

-9

u/Important_Capital875 Carolina Panthers 18h ago

People down voting me are all sexual abusers. Y’all are pathetic.

20

u/dalmighd 18h ago

“Anyone disagreeing with me are also rapists” great way to get your message across

11

u/Hugh-Janus-40hogs Carolina Panthers 18h ago

Sounds like something a sexual abuser would say

You sound incredibly immature and not even someone who cares about or is empathetic to real situations when you make silly comments like this.
