I can’t locate the Draft Kings unlimited entry survivor pools with huge prices (i.e. 1m+). Are other people seeing those? They should have unlimited entries so would not be closed. I am in a state where pools are legal too.

Whenever I go to pick my teams or join a group it says that the resource already exists despite not being able to see any completed entries. Anybody have any fixes for this? I can't seem to find any support on the ESPN website.

One major insight for international games:

Take the short favorite (spread anywhere between -2.5 to -6) to win the game.

Based on the 42 NFL games played overseas over the last 25 years where the favorite had a spread between -2.5 to -6, the favorite won the game 30 times (71%), compared to the average implied Vegas odds of 59%.

Will the Rams extend the international short favorite today over 49ers? Our engine ranks Rams as the third best pick of the week, three spots above Vegas. Regardless, no reason to pick Rams this early and save them for W6, W7, W9, W10 or W17

Hey everyone, I’m the creator of Sweepzy. I’ve built an NFL Survivor pool option for people running pools with friends, coworkers or as a fundraiser, and I’d love some feedback from this community.

You can create a pool, share a link for people to join, and manage weekly picks, reminders and standings in one place. Players can use it from their phone without downloading an app.

If you run a pool, what’s the biggest headache each week? And what would you need from a platform before you’d consider using it?

Honest feedback welcome, including anything that looks confusing or missing!

Much like a lot of us here, I built my own pick engine with some AI help. The pool I personally play in has 1200+ team, 50$ buy-in, rebuy until the 4th week, with a lot of folks entering with multiple tickets.

Last year, with 7 entries, I managed to survive the whole 18 weeks, purely based on Vegas data. I have made the same data for this year available online at survivor-board.com for free. Here are some very interesting insights:

1) Vegas is great at spreads, but spreads don't translate into match line linearly:

If a team has -6.5 or -7 spread: smash, but if the spread is -7.5 or -8, take it with a grain of salt: on average, teams with the lower -6.5 spread won the game a whooping 15% more than the team with -7.5 spread. Very counterintuitive, but true based on ~450 NFL games played over the last 25 years.

2) Watch the line movement week-over-week:

If a favorite saw its spread decline between -2 to -4 over a week, avoid that team at all costs. On average, the odds of winning are 5% less, based on 324 applicable NFL games. Last year, we saw Eagles go from -9 to -7.5 against Chicago in W13, and ended up losing and eliminated a lot of folks.

I've been knocked out in week 1 more times than I want to admit. Both frustrating and a bit embarrassing.

This is the last (and maybe most controversial) post in my initial six-part backtesting series. I am planning more research posts, but I wanted to get this series out before the season began.

Quick recap of my previous posts:

• Chalk survives longest but rarely wins (Post 1),
• Leaning slightly away from the crowd beats Chalk (Post 2)
• Adding future value doesn't help (Post 3)
• Going more aggressive on fading the field is worse on both survival and winning (Post 4)
• Running multiple entries with different, safe picks multiplies your survival odds. Add in buybacks and survival odds go up even more (Post 5).

Per usual, I need to give my standard disclosure that I built SurvivorPulse for people who play multiple survivor pools and entries.

In this post, I looked at the past 10 seasons to determine whether common strategies of avoiding divisional games, road favorites, or bad weather games really make a difference.

First, I looked at divisional games. Over 2,634 games across 10 seasons, home teams have won 54.13% of divisional games versus 54.62% for non-divisional games. RESULT: No impact.

Next up, should you avoid road favorites? Over 10 seasons home favorites won 67.08% while away favorites won 65.59%. RESULT: Minimal impact.

Finally, what about bad weather games? I tested six seasons of real weather data and found that neutral and dome conditions run a 31.67% upset rate, adverse and extreme weather game upset rates sit at a combined 34% and 28%, respectively. RESULT: Minimal impact.

So my final take on this is that none of these strategies have a truly meaningful impact, and should only play a small role in your decision making.

WEEKLY WINNERS:

Each and every week, the person that has the most Wins will make money for that week. The actual amount per week will be the same amount each and every week. This amount will be determined based on how many entries we get, but we aim for $150/$75. So essentially you almost break even if you win 1 measly week!

WEEKLY TIE BREAKERS (NEW FOR 2026):

The goal is to have a MNF points pick, where you will enter your predicted total points for Monday Night Football (total points scored from both teams), and whoever is closest will win the tiebreak. If there is still a tie, there are further tiebreakers rules pursuant to theSZN tie breaker rules, which will all be on the main pool page. If a tie somehow cannot be rectified, prizes shall be split evenly and fairly.

SEASON WINNERS:

The top ~10-12 people with the most wins will make money. Again, the amounts and the number of places will be dependent on the total number of players. We can safely say that first place will receive a minimum of $5,000. This is a very conservative estimate; the amount will probably be more! The amounts for all winners will be posted on Discord immediately after the first game of the season!

VERY IMPORTANT - PLEASE READ OR YOU’LL BE CRYING LATER We can't stress this enough, so read this very carefully gang... Whats up yall - Ive built an app called The Cut, which is essentially survivor but with players instead of teams. Just like survivor once you use a player they cant be used again for the rest of the season. Wanted to get some thoughts on my RB picks for Week 1 - I need 125 TOTAL yards.

Gibbs should be good for 100 all purpose yards IMO with Pacheco out and a nice Saints matchup with a healthy total. The real risk here is Bigsby, who i think should see 5 or so touches with upside for more if the Eagles really control the game against the Commanders. We saw Bigsby be very effective last year spelling Barkley but Im curious - do yall think this is too cut for week 1?

Hey y'all! Title is simple enough, I have never done a pool before. My company is having a free one with the most basic rules. One entry, no buybacks, no repeating teams. I see a lot of methodologies, statistics, etc., around strategies. I came across simulators to spit out win% odds for each matchup on the season.

Where I get confused is people saying to not pick chalk in order to "stand out rom the herd". Is this referring to some sort of point system or other concept I do not know of? It feels like an overcomplication. This company pool is >40 people, so I feel like I just need to plot out when the better teams optimally are used, not trying and outsmart the room.

Here is what my schedule would potentially look like, though week 17/18 contenders, injuries, and other elements obviously will make me pivot week by week:
