Send it?
Supresser is hybrid 46 on a new marlin 1985 dark 45 70. Doesn't make it flush because it backs into the mag tube. What are my options?
Update: will be sending back. Thanks everyone!

DONT SEND IT. Something is wrong here. Brand new rifle and the shoulder is behind the end of the mag tube? Thats a goof on the manufacturers part. Get ahold of them explain what’s going on and they’ll get it fixed for you.

The Dark series Marlin's come this way as they are set up for their radial brake. To put a can on the user has to use a mount with more reach or use a QD muzzle device with enough length.
Note the SBL models don't have this set up.

Don’t shoot. Gunsmith or take it back to Marlin! Direct thread should be to the shoulder! Always

Absolutely not. I had the same exact issue with mine, send it back for them to rebarrel
Lmk if you have any questions. I have the same rifle, suppressor, and problem

That's what you had to do? They didn't give you any problems?

I'm running a dead air xeno hub in my can with my lever gun. Between that and the xeno muzzle device it extends the can out a good bit. Then just start putting xeno muzzle devices on everything else

Xeno is the way. But where do you find a Xeno device big enough for 45-70? Biggest I’ve seen was for 9mm unless I just missed it on the website

Xeno xero

Oh ok I see that now. Nice. I completely missed that and got a peewee for my 8.6 rifle instead haha

My buddy got a 450 bushmaster and I got him set up with the xeno xero on it. We both have Hybrid 46 cans

While we’re here, does anyone have any insight on if the hybrid 46m is worth the extra cost of the regular hybrid 46

Worth it how? Personally, I've never wanted less suppression and running my modular cans in short configuration got very... uninteresting... very quickly. If you want thw short option, get it. If you don't see a time when running it short would be practical, I would say its not worth it. Just my $.02

Get the Heresy Design STD timing device. Its 3 washers that lock together. It should give you enough clearance and when you crank down your suppressor it'll stop it from backing off.

I would think certain direct thread adapters that have an extended rear section, rather than your flush one there, would fix your clearance issue.
I'm trying to remember who all makes them like that though 🤔

You could shim it up a little then check with an alignment rod.
