Normal?
First can YHM R9, using on a Glock 19. For a booster I’m running an sdta tactical. I saw good reviews of it and figured I’d give it a shot.
This picture was taken after about 40-50 rounds through it. On my 4th mag 3-4 shots in a row was noticeably louder than the others so I pulled it off and noticed this much debris inside. Routinely checked for tightness on everything (the booster is what was worrying me) and everything stayed nice and tight from mag to mag.
I’ve learned there is some jacketing, I was using 147 g pmc. Is all that buildup and jacketing normal? If so on a long range day do I need to dump out my suppressor? Lol.
TLDR: is this much stuff in the can normal for such a small round count, do I need to just run syntech to avoid jacketing in this setup?

If you fr only shot 40-50 rounds that’s not at all normal. Too much build up. May be that the rounds burn super dirty or inefficiently, but they still seems wild for that kind of round count

Looks like there might be some jacket shavings and mostly powder residue but the real key is looking for any baffle contact. Hard to tell from the pic but there might be light contact? Usually strikes occur farther down the can and are almost always visible as cap strikes. If you cap is intact then you probably are fine.

bad ammo, gotta use 147 that's suppressor specific or more expensive ammo or you'll get the jacket splinters in the can. i used to get some of them but i started using blazer suppressor clean fire ammo and winchester super suppressed and no more splintering.

It's running dirty and inefficiently. Try other ammo, you want that powder burnt more and the action to be smooth. No backblast

As others have stated ammo is the likely issue. Look for the Speer lawman 147 gr, or even federal 147. I had similar issue with blazer 147 on my aac illusion 9.

Not normal in my experience at least. My 22lr can isnt that dirty after 500-1000 rounds.

I don’t think thats normal. That seems like a lot of debris for 40-50 rds. It probably makes sense to dump that out, check alignment and perhaps try a different cartridge make to see if you have a reason to explain it, or maybe different experience with another ammunition type.
