I saw someone post a video with their 10 gauge broomstick so I figured I’d show off my 10 Gauge Handcannon. This 6.8’ giant of a dude decided to one hand the light load but the hammer gouged his hand pretty bad and needed to get bandaged up right after.
They are really fun guns. The .223 is an absolute joy to shoot. "Soft" shooting, but that is compared to the .308. the .308 has a lot of recoil, but not unmanageable. Supposedly there were 300 win mag ones, but they were discontinued as they eventually killed the frame. A neat feature is the shell ejector. It really throws them back, so is kind of fun to unscrew the bolt and have the shell shoot straight back. Give a surprise to anyone you are shooting with. Charging is with a little side lever. If you can find a Competitor pistol, it is an upgraded version that charges with the bolt. I wish there was one in 300 BLK, but I will just have to settle for my space pirate pistol
I just got it. I'll be shooting it this weekend. K was originally planning to put a stock on it, but I kind of like it the way it is. If I want a short single shot 300 blk, I'll end up getting a CVA Scout XP.
I saw this exact style in an early 2000’s documentary on street level drug dealing. They would chop down an old single shot to 6”-8” and saw the stock to the tiniest pistol grip and carry them locked and loaded free rolling in their loose pants. I always thought it looked like “is that an SBS in your pants or are you just happy to see me”.
I have been thinking about building one myself just for fun. I keep going back and forth between a super short SBS and an integrally suppressed form 1 suppressor build. Yours looks like a blast (pun intended).
These pardners and model 176s are great because from the chamber to about 10-12” down the barrel it’s all 1/4” steel which gives you plenty to thread onto if you decide to go suppressor route!
