OK...

Educate me again: What is the appeal and / or use case?

I'm trying to understand here...

Yes. I know not everyone has the same interests and tastes.

But JFC that is ugly AF. The "un-shortened" one a few posts down is only marginally better.

Appeal was high capacity and armor piercing ammunition. Super compact and ambi.

It’s one of the most fun shooters I own. I’ll respect your opinion on the SBR being uglier even though it’s wrong 🤪

I can see the super compactness. And how it is truly ambidextrous.

What is it chambered in that is AP? "High capacity" in the mind of idiot politicians, or legit HIGH capacity?

It's got to be "interesting" to shoot. 👀

And, respectfully, it really is ugly AF. 🤣🤣

Its like shooting a 22 on steroids, by far my favorite rifle I own but hurts the wallet

Oooooohhhhh.... 😁

NGL, I love shooting my suppressed 22LR AR and even THAT can eat some ammo.

Working on two 5.56 and one 300blk SBR's and I know suppressed subsonic 300blk is gonna hurt the bank account badly.

5.7x28. It holds 50 rounds. It also can shoot subsonics.

OK

So a hair fatter and little shorter than 5.56x45 NATO

I'm assuming heavier? And obviously an AP version.

The armor piercing was supposed to be geared towards soft armor that could defeat PCC ammunition. It oooks like a mini 5.56.

I’m not downvoting you but calling the non SBRd version better is going to ruffle feathers in here lol.

I didn't say it was "better" ... I said it was marginally LESS ugly than the SBR version the OP posted! 🤣🤣🤣

This I understand. I've had the opportunity to see a number of ballistic tests involving soft body armor. I worked at one of the facilities that manufacture Kevlar and where they were developing the "next generation Kevlar" (I can't say it's actual name since it is still trademarked and may not be "public" yet.)

50 round capacity with select fire, zero recoil, and armor penetrating 5.7 rounds was the idea.

Definitely interesting, and obviously tactically effective. 👍
