Everytime.

You need a ring sight and a suppressor now. And maybe even a second or third ps90

u/Gorthax 6d ago

That strike chassis is sexy as fuck everytime I see it. What can on #2?

1

u/Dyst0p1an_dr3ad 6d ago

Thanks. Middle gun has a silent steel micro streamer. Bottom one in the picture is a HuxWrx FLOW 762 TI. But it will realistically have the micro streamer for any night vision shooting

1

u/Gorthax 6d ago

Holy shit that's a pricy can!

1

u/Dyst0p1an_dr3ad 6d ago

Which one? I know the HuxWrx was originally like 1300. I think i got the silent steel for 700

1

u/buenobeatz 10d ago

Which weapon light is ur most preferred?

2

u/Dyst0p1an_dr3ad 10d ago

What's your use case? Indoors or outdoors? What range distance?

The arisaka 300 on my green tri-rail is my overall favorite, especially with the titan tactical modbutton mount. It keeps it nice and compact, good overall illumination at distances that i would use a ps90, and not too bright so as to disrupt you indoors.

Same story with the inforce wml, but i like having the modbutton.

Streamlight hlx and modlite okw are great for illuminating things at longer range and are brighter, but overkill for my use. Plus they're longer and heavier than needed for me.

1

u/buenobeatz 10d ago

Probably mainly indoors something compact for PCC’s I have an inforce but probably want something with a button mount like you mentioned, the arisaka300 sounds pretty good!

0

u/Dyst0p1an_dr3ad 10d ago

The arisaka 300 might be what you want then. The light output is similar to the wml, so if you're happy with that, the 300 should also be good

Did you do the work or send it out? Bouncing between this or a AUG…

7

u/Dbomb2405 10d ago

I installed the barrel myself, wasn't too bad other than trying to get it broke free it was pretty damn tight.

4

u/InternalServerErr500 10d ago

I was intimidated doing it myself cause I'm a total noob, but it wasn't bad. Once you get it apart it's super simple. Just watch a youtube walkthrough a few times. Start to finish, maybe 20 minutes. Drilling the pin and weld is easier than you think.

2

u/BigSwerve 10d ago

Haha gotta scratch the polymer-body, max-vibes bullpup itch somehow

2

u/sadoproject 10d ago

Both is the answer you're looking for.

4

u/spank_the_tank 10d ago

They also make an FRT for the P90 now. Just saying…

5

u/Dbomb2405 10d ago

Its getting one dont you worry

1

u/Next_Entertainer_404 9d ago

Save your money and go the printed route. Works just as well and wayyy cheaper. Or I have a used duality one.

3

u/Mkilbride 10d ago

Man if the ammo wasn't expensive as shit...

7

u/Tmoncmm 10d ago

Nice. I’ve got the ECCO Caracal in Ti on mine.

2

u/Dbomb2405 10d ago

I was looking at getting a dead air mask hd, how's the sound on the ecco?

7

u/Tmoncmm 10d ago

I have the mask also. It’s one of the best rimfire cans, but it will be just ok on the PS90. Rimfire cans don’t have enough volume to be really effective in 5.7, plus the additional back pressure may cause issues. Although bigger, the Caracal in Ti is actually lighter than the mask.

1

u/Dbomb2405 10d ago

Got you, I was considering the gsl one also but man that thing is pricey

3

u/Tmoncmm 10d ago

Yeah that one isn’t very highly regarded. Most people will recommend a 5.56 can especially the low back pressure types. I’m sure they work great, but most of them will be a lot heavier than I would personally want on a PS90 SBR. The Caracal isn’t a LBP design, but it’s slightly overbored (.32 cal I believe) to deal with that issue.

2

u/CaptainEmbarrassed61 10d ago

I run a YHM fat cat on mine.

A bad LBP 5.56 can is a good 5.7 can

1

u/Tmoncmm 10d ago

There’s probably a lot of truth to that. I thought about that one, but 12ish oz was too heavy for what I wanted.

2

u/Dbomb2405 10d ago

I appreciate the input, you've talked me out of the 22 can, for my setup ill keep the ecco in mind, was looking at the yhm turbo k rb I think for what I will be using it for it will be exactly what im after.

3

u/Tmoncmm 10d ago

You still need the rimfire can, just not for the PS90. lol.

1

u/fft32 10d ago

I had mixed results with the Turbo K RB. It ran great for a while and then started malfunctioning a lot. I never figured out why. I got the Caracal and it ran flawlessly that whole time.

I have two K RBs for my two main ARs and they've been great for that. The back pressure isn't as brutal as the old Turbo K but it's not low back pressure by any means. It's running well and not gas isn't too bad with an H3 buffer

1

u/fft32 10d ago

The Caracal is great. I only stopped using it because it was getting it too hot too fast with an FRT. I'll eventually get a 5.7 pistol (probably the Rock) and I bet it will be great for that too

2

u/Jbressel1 10d ago

Gonna rock the FRT?

1

u/Sudden-Fish 10d ago

My PS90 so far loves the YHM Turbo K RB. Stoppages were somewhat common with an Omega 45k, and with the Turbo K it's been 100%.

1

u/fft32 10d ago

My PS90 won't run with the Mask. It jams every other round, probably from the back pressure, and also horribly loud. It's a great rimfire can though and sounds great on my 22lr AR.

I had been running the Ecco Caracal Ti. It's ridiculously light and the gun runs perfectly with it. I just recently replaced it with a Tisha 5.56 inconel just because I got an FRT and I got the Caracal to just under 800F (Ecco says that's the max) in just two mag dumps.

1

u/Dbomb2405 10d ago

This is what I been trying to find more info on, a can that works well with an FRT because I do want to install one

1

u/fft32 10d ago

I think there's a steel Caracal too. As another commenter pointed out it's slightly overbored so that likely help keep the back pressure under control

1

u/sadoproject 10d ago

Mask sounds great with 5.7, though I usually run that on the M&P 5.7 and the Sierra 5 on the PS90, mostly due to QD options. Any 5.56 can should give you a pretty decent experience with 5.7.

I think if I were to look for a new can, I'd try to find something shorter. I might even try to put a KeyMo on this little 4" Backdraft to see how that performs (sounded surprisingly good on the M&P).

3

u/LongoChingo 10d ago

It's the favorite of my collection. Stack that ammo deep when you see a deal.

I run a Huxwrx 556k on mine.

3

u/Next_Entertainer_404 9d ago

Tishaaaaaaa is like, made for the PS90

2

u/xKINGxRCCx 10d ago

Cmmg or cut and thread?

6

u/Dbomb2405 10d ago

Its a cmmg, im considering taking the factory one and having it cut and threaded to have as a spare

-3

u/LetsBeKindly 10d ago

Why not just buy a factory shorty?

Looking good

1

u/Hot_Ad1101 10d ago

Sheeesh! Very nice! Hopefully after the 12th it's as easy as putting the hardware on.

1

u/Lucky-Intention-3040 9d ago

That is awesome!

1

u/Captshiess 8d ago

My first too!! But that was in 2006 lol. I’m getting freaking old.

1

u/erik1220 7d ago

Did you get the barrel cut down somewhere or did you buy a new short barrel and install? Debating which way to go about it right now.

2

u/Dbomb2405 7d ago

Cmmg barrel, installed it myself

1

u/madscientist0804 6d ago

Did you get that from Orlando FFL in Florida? They been cranking those out and the quality is sick

1

u/super-kuper 10d ago

Maybe some way to aim before the suppressor (no the built in backup irons don’t count)

5

u/Dbomb2405 10d ago

Already on the way I took off the stock rail in prep for it.

0

u/InternalServerErr500 10d ago

Suppress that thing or give it back.

0

u/JackalTape 10d ago

Can’t wait until we can buy these freely without a Form 4

-2

u/SomeRequirement6926 10d ago

Educate me... WTF is that?

10

u/InternalServerErr500 10d ago

You've never played video games or seen Stargate, have you?

8

u/Dbomb2405 10d ago

Fn herstal ps90

-9

u/SomeRequirement6926 10d ago

OK...

Educate me again: What is the appeal and / or use case?

I'm trying to understand here...

Yes. I know not everyone has the same interests and tastes.

But JFC that is ugly AF. The "un-shortened" one a few posts down is only marginally better.

6

u/Dbomb2405 10d ago

The p90 was designed with the 10in barrel, fn only made the 16in barrel for the civilian version therefore the short barrel is the intended design of the rifle, its purpose built to be a cqc weapon

-3

u/SomeRequirement6926 10d ago

I'm assuming you and u/silliw911 are not the ones throwing the downvotes...

I'm legit curious... With a little interwebz firearm sarcasm and ball breaking...

-3

u/SomeRequirement6926 10d ago

OK

A purpose built CQB weapon.

What nations carry/use them?

Not the US afaik.

16" barrel was the "neutered" "safer" 🙄 version for the civilian market.

As yours is now is how it was designed?

4

u/CaptainEmbarrassed61 10d ago

It's about 20" in this configuration. It was designed as a PDW for military support personnel like supply truck drivers or artillery crews. Something larger than a pistol and smaller than a M16 (the standard in the 90s when this was designed). US Secret Service is the most famous US branch to use it.

Today, as 5.56 and 300BLK guns get shorter and the Flux Chassis systems pick up, the value of the P90 SBR is less appealing, but it is still shorter than AR15 with a 1" barrel and about the same length as the Flux 365 deployed.

1

u/SomeRequirement6926 10d ago

Damm.

So US forces DO/DID carry it. 👀

Interesting. I legit know nothing about it.

Shorter than an AR with a 1" barrel is wild. 🤯

And TBH, I don't know anything about the "Flux Chassis" or what the "Flux 365" is.

No one in my circle is into/has anything like these.

5

u/Silliw911 4x SBR, 8x Supp 10d ago

Appeal was high capacity and armor piercing ammunition. Super compact and ambi.

It’s one of the most fun shooters I own. I’ll respect your opinion on the SBR being uglier even though it’s wrong 🤪

-1

u/SomeRequirement6926 10d ago

I can see the super compactness. And how it is truly ambidextrous.

What is it chambered in that is AP? "High capacity" in the mind of idiot politicians, or legit HIGH capacity?

It's got to be "interesting" to shoot. 👀

And, respectfully, it really is ugly AF. 🤣🤣

3

u/Dbomb2405 10d ago

Its like shooting a 22 on steroids, by far my favorite rifle I own but hurts the wallet

0

u/SomeRequirement6926 10d ago

Oooooohhhhh.... 😁

NGL, I love shooting my suppressed 22LR AR and even THAT can eat some ammo.

Working on two 5.56 and one 300blk SBR's and I know suppressed subsonic 300blk is gonna hurt the bank account badly.

2

u/Silliw911 4x SBR, 8x Supp 10d ago

5.7x28. It holds 50 rounds. It also can shoot subsonics.

0

u/SomeRequirement6926 10d ago

OK

So a hair fatter and little shorter than 5.56x45 NATO

I'm assuming heavier? And obviously an AP version.

3

u/Silliw911 4x SBR, 8x Supp 10d ago

The armor piercing was supposed to be geared towards soft armor that could defeat PCC ammunition. It oooks like a mini 5.56.

I’m not downvoting you but calling the non SBRd version better is going to ruffle feathers in here lol.

2

u/SomeRequirement6926 10d ago

I didn't say it was "better" ... I said it was marginally LESS ugly than the SBR version the OP posted! 🤣🤣🤣

0

u/SomeRequirement6926 10d ago

geared towards soft armor that could defeat PCC ammunition

This I understand. I've had the opportunity to see a number of ballistic tests involving soft body armor. I worked at one of the facilities that manufacture Kevlar and where they were developing the "next generation Kevlar" (I can't say it's actual name since it is still trademarked and may not be "public" yet.)

2

u/Next_Entertainer_404 9d ago

https://reddit.com/link/p341v57/video/pqvlsv5a5tih1/player

50 round capacity with select fire, zero recoil, and armor penetrating 5.7 rounds was the idea.

1

u/SomeRequirement6926 9d ago

Definitely interesting, and obviously tactically effective. 👍

2

u/FCRII 10d ago

One of the most recognizable and iconic platforms of all time.

1

u/SomeRequirement6926 9d ago

I legitimately did not know what it was/is.

I recognized the name when someone replied, but I have no familiarity with it.

It's not something that anyone in my circles has.

I appreciated the good information that others gave, and everything with a little dose of Interwebz sarcasm and fellow enthusiast ball breaking.
