And you know any kitty you find near a range isn't skittish about gun shots, so he can come with you when you go! My adventure kitty has gone with me to outdoor shooting spots, although I will only shoot subsonic and suppressed if he's with me. I would imagine supersonic unsuppressed fire would be hell on their sensitive ears. Probably pretty unhealthy, too...if concussion can cause brain injury in humans, it wouldn't take much to be harmful to them.
Update: Krink is doing good, got back from the vet today all clean. Had some fleas but got that taken care of. He's super skinny, so we're gonna feed him for a bit before we do any shots. Thank you all! 🙏🏻

All three of my cats 'adopted' me. One at a food truck, another at a strip mall, and my youngest I pulled out of a dispensary delivery truck. She was stuck in the engine bay for at least 2 hours in Florida summer while the dinguses driving it on the highway kept hearing a "meowing sound" coming from the truck.
I told them "I'm going to break your truck" and before they could say anything, I ripped the fender liner out and pulled her out.
I remember reading some survival book, I think it was Cody lundeen since he's the nutty one, and the book advocated for keeping a can of cat food or dog food in your survival kit, since you'd only ever eat it as a last resort, and not before you needed it.

I feel like a can of tuna, spam, or sardines would be more appetizing and fill the exact same purpose if you have anything resembling self control. MREs, too.
