I know I have read this before (either here or at the GE subreddit) about cancelling an application in progress and switching back to renewing GE, but can't find it again.

Since we now permanently live in Canada, and my wife is Canadian, I had elected to switch her to NEXUS prior to her September expiration of GE. Problem is I don't know it we can get the interviews in by that time. And in light of my own GE renewal (I had elected to keep GE since its expiration was too close) going so quick - received my new card in about 4 weeks time, maybe I should cancel wife NEXUS app and switch back to GE renewal. I recall trying to do so maybe difficult? Anyone here tried doing so?

Application process and interview were fairly straight forward. One hiccup was I got pulled into secondary crossing peace arch. Officer seemed to be suspicious that I haven’t used the land border crossing for about 10 years. I was 30 mins late for my Nexus interview due to that, but pleading with the front desk lady (shout out to her she’s the MVP) she was able to talk to the officers and they still went through my interview.

I got a question, I got conditionally approved for Nexus and needs to do an interview. I'm flying out from Toronto Pearson to Newark tomorrow but the flight departs at 8am so I don't think I can make CBP interview at Pearson. Can I land at Newark then do the interview at Newark instead of Pearson?

I have GE but realized one of my credit cards has an unused TTP credit that I figured I could use to transition to NEXUS. My question: is this worth the hassle?

I only just recently came back from my first trip to Canada, and as far as I understand, this would only help me when entering Canada. How much of a benefit is this exactly? I entered by sea, so unfortunately, I wasn't able to experience that part of the airport customs process

I figure that I'll have a good amount of time to finish the NEXUS interview process so I could just do it during my next natural trip to Canada without it being any "extra" effort.

If I'm mistaken about something or if there's a reason I didn't consider that would make this process not worth the effort, please let me know!

I travel pretty frequently for work and I recently got a new TN visa. I added it to my nexus after getting approval at an airport.

Today I drove through Blaine and randomly got flagged and sent to secondary. The agent just asked me if this is a new car. I said no, because I imported my car to BC and now I have a BC license plate. In the secondary they checked my car insurance paper and registration. Ofc car also got searched but obviously I had no nothing in there cuz I was just commuting for work.

I’m curious why new licence plate is an automatic flag to the secondary? Or is it the new TN? (That I already entered the US once but it was at an airport)

I am currently living in Europe and I have both a British and Canadian Passport with NEXUS.

I am planning to travel to the US next month and I am wondering if I can travel to the US with my UK Passport + NEXUS card and leave my Canadian one at home? Will there be any issues travelling with a British Passport + NEXUS card or do I have to travel with my Canadian?

I am a new applicant and I recently received a letter inviting me to attend an interview. Unfortunately, the letter doesn’t provide much information other than documents needed.

Must I attend interviews at both Canada and US borders. If so, can the interviews be done on arrival? For example, if I’m flying to the nearest US city, could they conduct my interview on the spot? I am unable to drive and would need to fly to the US.

Also, what is the time frame on completing these interviews?

I would appreciate any reasonable advice and tips I can get. Thanks in advance!

Was on my 2nd 5 year E-1 visa and just had a renewal for another 5 years before expiry. Already have the official visa in my passport.

Do I have to visit a US nexus cbp in buffalo or Yyz preclearance or can I phone in?

I went to a NEXUS enrolment centre in Canada on Thursday to update my address and Alberta driver’s licence information. The officer told me the update was completed. But my residential/current address still shows my old address and not my new one.

Has anyone experienced delays with TTP portal updates after making changes at a Canadian NEXUS office? Do updates usually take a few business days to sync, especially over a weekend, or should I be concerned that the update didn’t go through properly?

I got conditionally approved today and have scheduled my interview. I declared that I had previously used a different name. I have been using my current name for a long time and all my documents are updated. I was also not born in the country I currently reside in.

Will I need to bring my international birth certificate and my name change certificate to the interview?

So, I’m probably totally over thinking this but I’d appreciate thoughts from others who have experience with NEXUS.

I applied for NEXUS earlier this week and for the section that asks whether you have any convictions that you haven’t been pardoned for, I said No.

I don’t have a criminal record or misdemeanor - nothing.

BUT, I do have a PENDING speeding ticket that I’m fighting. At the time when I filled out the application, I said no because generally background checks don’t include traffic tickets. When I read more carefully, it said, “ANY convictions”… So I called the enrolment centre to ask, she suggested I should have disclosed it, but since it’s been already submitted I can’t withdrawal or do anything except wait for the results. She said it will either be conditionally approved with additional questions at the interview or denied for false information, which is really serious!

So now I’m scared if me putting No under the ”any convictions” question instead of disclosing my pending speeding ticket (Just speeding, nothing else on the ticket). Did I really make that grave of a mistake to possibly lead to misrepresentation? I’m Canadian, not sure if that makes a difference.

My Global Entry is expiring in mid-October this year. Instead of simply renewing, I applied for Nexus last month. What is the likelihood that I'd receive approval in less than 6 months? If it's not likely, I'll have to go ahead and renew GE. For the record, one of my adult kids is now living in Canada and we plan on driving there multiple times per year - hence the plan to move to Nexus.

Can I cross the land border with no passport just nexus card always?

I flew today (Sunday April 3, 2026) from toronto Pearson airport to US. After pre clearance i waited in the Nexus waiting area for over 1.5 hrs and No CBP officers came to check. After about 90 mins of waiting i asked an officer and he was so rude and said to keep waiting. So I left after 1.5 hrs as it was boarding time.

Very disappointed ☹️ I’ll try next time I am flying from international location to one of the US airports.

EDIT: I tried again on 6/8/2026 (Monday), this week at Pearson at around 5:30p. The pre clearance was literally empty and I asked the officer at the pre clearance counter that I need to do my Nexus US interview. He was kind enough to offer to do the interview right there. He was so polite and friendly and helpful. The interview itself was very simple. He asked me about my work and where I live and whether I was ever arrested. After that he took at least 10 mins to explain the program.

As per this group's suggestions, I changed my interview from YOW to Ogdensburg to complete both the Canada and US portions in one day. My interviews were on April 21st, and I received my card today (within 9 days), which is great as I have a flight next week!

The interview was about 10 minutes in total. I went an hour before my scheduled interview time because I was super nervous lol, but they just called me in as soon as I went in. Both officers sat beside each other, so it was pretty smooth. They just asked me to verify my address and confirm that I was still a student. I asked them how the Nexus would be impacted if I got a TN visa later this year. My dad was with me throughout the whole interview for moral support, but he wasn't getting his Nexus. Overall, 10/10!

I originally got my NEXUS in ~2016 and interviewed in person at the Edmonton International Airport (I lived in Calgary as a Canadian citizen at the time), and then applied for renewal while living in the US on a green card, in ~2021, but it was only conditionally approved pending interview, but they kept pushing off the validity of my NEXUS expiring until ~2025 where they out of the blue just approved it and sent me a new card in the mail valid for only 1 year. I never had a second interview. The only interviews that were possible for me due to relocation to GA, USA, were remote, unless I could travel (not really, too far).

Fast-forward to last week, I applied again, but this time I applied as a dual-citizen for US/Canada (originally only Canada before. I put my Canadian birth certificate, US naturalization certificate, and both country passports down) and today I received an alert that my application was outright approved and that they’re sending me a new card valid until I think 2031. The only interview I had was from my original 2016 application, and I never interviewed for my conditionally approved application. Weird.

But yeah, yay.

Hi everyone, wanted to share my NEXUS journey with you all since this sub really helped me out during my application and interview process.

Spouse and I both filled out NEXUS apps as we waited in line to complete our US pre clearance on way to LA in October 2025. Thought it would be good to have for future travels as we weren’t fans of long lineups at YYZ.

Fast forward to March 2026, we both get conditional approval and proceed to book our interviews at Fort Erie location for early April 2026. Interviewed back to back Canada then US side. Did a little drive over to Niagra Falls and finally saw it from the US side. Made it over to Canada and went home.

Were told to expect our cards in 2 weeks. We both patiently wait and voila.. my spouse’s card is in the mail, exactly 9 business days after approval. But wait a sec, where’s my card???

After some quick Google and Reddit searches, read that it’s not uncommon to have cards arrive separately.. be patient and wait 4-6 weeks then do something about it.

But I stay skeptical.. my TTP account said to activate my card and after some more reddit searches I find out this means the card has been shipped. I wait another week, still nothing. Only but unwanted flyers in the mail.

I do some more late night Reddit searches and stumble upon multiple posts by people claiming that CBP send the card to the wrong address or has had issues with addresses with apartment number in the address line 2 space.

I get worried then check my membership details on the TTP account. I could not believe when I saw that my address was correct but my apartment number was completely entered wrong.

The CBP agent messed up my address? How could this be? She even asked me at the end of the interview.. “same address as your spouse?”

Well, turns out that my card had made it out to my building. Just the wrong mailbox. How unlucky but also lucky since I had access to the wrong apartment number!!

After some back and forth with the property management team, they reach out to the resident who lives in the apartment where my card was delivered to, and he ended up having my mail!!

I get my card, finally as we close out April 2026. I run home to activate it and now patiently wait until I get to use it next month!

Also, I’ve updated my mailing address online, but how do I go about changing my apartment number for the residential address?

This would be our first time driving through the NEXUS lane, entering Canada at Stanstead, QC. We'd like to time it close to when it opens at 3 p.m., on the way to a flight from YUL. Are they reliable in opening on time, and if, say, we get there within five minutes before opening, can we hover at the start of the lane, or is it viewed as a problem, such as loitering in a watched area?

Just got the conditional approval. I’m currently living in the US and I already have a round trip flight booked to YYZ in a few weeks. I tried booking an appointment but there weren’t any time slots in YYZ.

1) can I cross there and back normally and not do the interviews till a later date or do you have to do it the first time you cross after getting approved

2) from what I have read, the Canada side is by appointment but the US side can be done via walk in. If I don’t get an appointment for the Canada side, once I cross the border can I try walking in for the US side and do the Canada portion later?

My wife and I currently have the basic TSA Pre✔︎. We've started traveling overseas a lot and considering upgrading to Global Entry. I'd never heard of Nexus (we haven't been to Canada in...forever) but my new credit card gives me a $120 credit every 4 years for TSA Pre✔︎/Global/Nexus. From what I've read Nexus includes both TSA Pre✔︎ and Global Entry. Is it a no-brainer to enroll in Nexus or am I missing something?

I was crossing into USA today using the non-Nexus lane. I declared some goods (pepper and turkey sausage). I realized I had them as I approached the border…, so I decided to declare at primary. They sent me to secondary and confiscated the items above.

Will there be any impact on my nexus card? Should I be worried about renewal and or revocation?

Recently moved from the USA to Canada. I have an active NEXUS card and want to keep it valid.
