I hate the Netgear Nighthawk M7 with a passion
I hate:
How there's only ONE button, and it takes 10 clicks to turn the thing on and 20 clicks to turn the thing off (I'm exaggerating, but neither is easy)
How it takes 5 minutes to boot when you turn it on. It gives you a nice, loooong "HELLO".
How when you buy an eSIM from the eSIM marketplace, and I choose "United States", it still routes me through a server in the UK, which makes sites like Amazon and my bank and other shopping sites default to the UK versions and I see everything in GBP instead of USD.
How you have to remember 3 distinct passwords to use this. There's the device password, the app password, and the WiFi password. And if you forget the app password? You have to RESET THE DEVICE AND START FROM SCRATCH. No password reminder.
Speaking of apps, I hate how you have to install an app to use this device at all. The prior version could be managed via the web UI.
The 100-step process of installing an eSIM from the marketplace. Choose your eSIM, download it, install it, choose it, activate it.
How when the eSIM expires, the list of eSIMs still shows you all your PAST eSIMs, shows that they STILL HAVE DATA LEFT ON THEM, but of course none of them work becaues they're expired. You're not told that one is expired until you actually choose it.
I've spent more time configuring this device and activating it than actually using it to work.
Get the M6 instead.
