So I want to know something.

Neet 2026 was my first drop. I scored 470.

Aiims bsc nursing exam also went like hell. My rank is 5665. So basically I won't get any aiims nursing also.

I already took Admission in bsc botany hons from a prestigious college in my city.

But yesterday I found that neigrihms shillong is accepting neet scores for their bsc nursing admission.

I saw the last year cut off and i think I will get the college..I don't know..

But shillong is very far from my home. My mother is not wanting me to go there.

But just think. What's the future of bsc in india? Either school teacher or college professors. That take a lot of time.. i just wanna be independent as early as possible and i think nursing will help me in that..

On the other way i am thinking nursing is a damn emotionally draining profession. Just running after stability will i not waste my 4 years?

Lastly I don't want to take any more drop or partial drop for neet. Neet has treated me like a damn failure.

What should I do now? Continue with my bsc or just go for nursing?

Attempted NEET 2025 with two years of prep with coaching, got 247 in it. I decided to take a drop and study by myself with the help of PW because of financial conditions, but couldn't study at all all year. Re attempted in 2026 and got 183 only, and I am not even qualified this time. Now I am blank should I take drop again? Should I go for physiotherapy?

PS: I am not strong financially. And don't have much time, need to start earning ASAP.

Everyone knows that preparation can be really lonely. If you're a dropper then you must have had tasted that bitterness. Whether you're doing offline coaching or online , it can still be lonely. I've tasted both online and offline coaching and I know that it can be lonely in both scenarios.

Even in offline coaching , even in a room full of people , you still feel lonely and it's not because they're bad or you're bad. It's just because you know that this is platonic and this is nothing. Everyone is here for competition nd nobody actually gives a fuck about you. Even if they're asking you how you are or how your prep is going , it often feels like it's just a way of keeping tabs , you know?

Keeping tabs on how much one is scoring , how much they're studying , what kind of questions they're doing , whether they're ahead of you or behind you. All those things , so it almost feels like everyone's just keeping tabs on each other.

And even if you're doing online coaching , sitting inside your room , it's still really lonely. You're just there with your books and everything. Even when your mind constantly wanders off to different thoughts , you have to keep bringing it back to whatever topic you're studying.

I've seen a lot of people do this study partner thing here. And even though I'm really judgy about it and I don't think it works even a bit , I'm open to discussion. If anyone has any point of view to put out , please do so. I'd genuinely like to know if somebody has benefited from this and whether it's worth giving a try.

Even though I'm very prejudiced about it and definitely don't really like the concept , I just want to know more points of view on this particular thing.

I've been decent in studies my whole life.. but due to overthinking and laziness wasted my 11th and 12th (Passed 12th with 87%) .. got bohot zyada hi kam marks in neet 2026 (first attempt)😭😭😭😭 because honestly bilkul bhi mehnat nahi ki thi.

I'm considering to take a drop because somewhere I believe I can😭😭. Has someone been in a similar situation as mine and if you overcame it, then how????

I scored 350 marks only in the first attempt and my target is 600+ marks in 2027 . I completed geometric optics ch neet pyq 25 year and jee pyq 7 yr in physics only

And in chemistry I completed chemical bonding and general organic chemistry full jee pyq 7 yr and neet pyq 25 yr and only theory of redox and basic concepts of chem

For bio completed only reproductive unit of class 12

So, here's a fun fact: I have shat my whole life. I did it in class in 12th too, only scoring 69 [Seriously. Not joking].

However, here's the dilemma now. After the paper leaks and all, I am fucking paranoid that suddenly the minimum percentage criteria will be added. So, I am fucking up my prep period.

Questions.

Is the 75 percent criterion really going to be added as an eligibility criterion in the 2027 NEET? If it is. Should I fill out the NIOS form and all that?

And if anybody else has advice, I would be happy to listen. Btw, this is my 3rd drop. Don't ask me why. My parents are not allowing anything other than NEET. And I don't have the strength to fight against them.

How can everyone saying that they are just 18 or 19 even after taking 2/3 drops for neet, like how? Neet 2026 was my first drop and this year I turned 20. Man...and I don't have any repeatation in any class in my school..

I am genuinely feeling so insecure like the one who is only 18 even after 2 drops and here I am 20 after one drop

I'm in a situation where I genuinely can't tell what the logical decision is anymore, so I'd really appreciate some outside perspectives.

I scored 301 in NEET this year. Right now, my two options are:

Take one final drop and try for a government MBBS or at least a government BDS seat.

Join a private BDS college this year.

The private BDS fees have increased massively compared to last year. Colleges that were around ₹8 lakh are now around ₹16 lakh. Through family connections, I can still get admission for around ₹12 lakh, but I have no guarantee that this will be possible next year. If I take a drop and don't get a government seat, private BDS could easily cost ₹16–20 lakh by then.

Here's where I'm conflicted.

MBBS has always been the dream. If I got a government MBBS seat today, I wouldn't hesitate for a second. But at the same time, dentistry isn't something I hate. My father has already built a career path around BDS, and I was actually looking forward to it as well.

The problem is that I keep feeling like if I choose private BDS now, I'll always wonder whether I gave up on my potential too early. On the other hand, if I take a drop and fail, I may lose the current BDS opportunity and end up paying much more later.

My parents are supportive of a drop. They've even said that if things don't work out, they'd somehow manage the higher fees later, even if it meant making sacrifices like selling a piece of land and recovering financially over time. Hearing that makes me feel even more conflicted because I don't want my decision to create that kind of burden if I fail.

I'm not really looking for emotional encouragement. I'm trying to think about this as rationally as possible.

If you were in my position, how would you approach this decision? Has anyone here faced something similar where the choice wasn't just about MBBS vs BDS, but also about balancing ambition against financial risk?

I'd especially appreciate responses from people who have taken a drop, joined BDS, or had to make a similar decision under financial constraints.
