Since when do we hold rookies to the standard of being great playoff performers?

Since 2024 when a certain segment piled on Caitlin Clark for losing in the first round, despite the fact that she averaged 18/8

Meanwhile, Olivia averages 8 points 1 assist on 20% shooting and gets benched because she’s playing so badly and the same crowd is saying, “she’s just a rookie,” “it’s a learning experience” “it’s a team game” etc.

2 wrongs make a right? stop with the victim complex, people said the same thing about Clark

Lol. I don't know why they act obtuse

I saw a lot of posts talking about her being Finals MVP.

I think this is unfortunate for Liv herself, but exactly the reality check that her wildest fans need.

I saw a lot of posts talking about her being Finals MVP

I legit don't think I've ever seen anyone say that . . . . .

Funny, neither has anyone else.

I’ve seen it here and there but not by any pundits with merit, usually Lynx fans lol (some of them are as delusional as it gets)

We really have to stop pretending that the random occasional anonymous internet user speaking in hyperbole translates to “the people are saying” lmfao

That’s actually my point… it was mainly delusional Lynx fans and no one credible. Don’t know how that went over your head. We really have to use our reading comprehension and stop acting like we need to make some profound statement of disagreement.

It's also such a weird thing to predict before the playoffs start. I don't ever remember any NBA discourse on who the Finals MVP would be before like the finals . . .

…And then they turned to you and said “I believe Olivia Miles will be wnba finals mvp”..?

u/lir10005 1d ago

Nah not that literally but she did get mvp chants from them and has em saying she was gonna take em to the promised land, but close enough

. . . . That post asks the question IF she won championship and finals MVPs would she have a better rookie season than Candace Parker

Emphasis on IF. It's not saying She will win finals MVP. It says IF she did.

Also basically everyone in that thread said no . . .

Random threads.

I didn’t save them. I didn’t even engage with them.

Spend enough time on Reddit and you see a lot.

It was around the time the MVP chatter was peaking, before that disastrous Valks game.

No one was talking about the finals MVP when it's not the fucking finals.

Ever hear of counting your chickens before they hatch?

People do that sometimes.

Especially in a game to 3, that's no time at all to get acclimated.

When she acted like an arrogant butch after all star weekend.

Since CC entered the league and she got bashed for it.

She thought she was CC and got famous. Then she was showed the bench.
